Back to School Safety Training

Specialized training for back-to-school safety: Over the summer, SJSO and St. Johns County Fire Rescue, in partnership with the St. Johns County School District, conducted several advanced training exercises that focused on the response to an active shooter at an educational institution. A team of highly skilled instructors planned and executed comprehensive scenarios including multiple units and role players to provide a realistic training experience. SJSO Youth Resource Deputies (YRD) and Real Time Intelligence Center (RTIC) Analysts are committed to the safety of students, staff and visitors at our schools. Skilled personnel and leadership, advanced technology, and pro-active threat assessment teams are part of the SJSO mission to make our schools the safest in the nation.
