Trying to interview the coach during the match: bad idea. Awkward and distracting.
That dude Snyder strong ash 😭
Bro when he lifted medbery bro I legit screamed
Did you actually bro?
@@thehouseofrouse8834 Nah he didn't bro.
Brooooooo
Bro...
whats the height of medbury? and these are drug tested (steroids) tournament right? Im new to this
Crazy how Snyder had broken ribs and still won
imagine you're just trying to live your life and go to school wrestle for a scholarship and then one day you have to wrestle an Olympic gold medalist
I would love to see Gable Stevenson wrestle against those heavyweights.
The long & immense interview killed this experience. Coach handled it well, he should have asked 2 questions smh
Always nice to see a CO guy in the finals but that Snyder is something else
The takedown heard around the world.
snyder is forever goated for wrestling at 215
The NCAA is insane for making it a -285
I was gonna say , how is he competing at 285 and 97kg
Kyle looked like he was 30 then. 🤔
😅😅 yeah due to his hair fall
He looks 40 now lol
Mental Toughness
What did they both weight
in at?
8:02 If you pause it looks like Kyle Snyder is in a lot of pain.
He had broken ribs in this match
He is 40 pounds heavier than he is!! What the fuck!
There's no 235lb weight class, he could have been giving up close to 70 depending on the opponent
-197, -285, there's no inbetween
@@insertcolorherehawk3761there should be though, like a 220 weight class at least
@@gladiatorking2.0envoyofthe95 It's insane, but yeah, there's an independent organization outside of the NCAA that does it for College, but HWT is the only thing for the NCAA
I'd like to see a competition at the senior level that does that, but that's more for the intrigue than it is the actual event
Dude....Giving up 40lbs is a really big deal in wrestling.
In theory, he can give up 70 in the division he's in
1:56
You know what he is the Heavyweight GOAT of college wrestling. Please convince me otherwise if I’m wrong
Why did Snyder let him up at 3:01?
Lots of wrestlers give up the one point because they feel more comfortable on their feet. I used to do the same.
@@gregdailey6419 Why not just hold onto him until the ref stands you up again?
@@jaykob213 that’s because they feel it’s worth the point to be on their feet and because he’s top he won’t get any point for a take down and if the guy underneath get a turn over it will be 2 points lost instead of 1.
If you know you're better than the other guy, getting the 2 and letting him up just to secure another takedown is a great way to rack up points. Also a great way to mentally defeat people😂
@jaykob213 this is folkstyle so they wrestle on the ground - no stalemate calls like in freestyle
Aqui
this guy is strong as fukk
What did he actually weigh for this matches? He can’t even be close to 260 let alone 285. Maybe 235, 245?
Since he was competiting in the international circuit at the same time, generally 215ish
I wonder if they head for ufc/bellator
No
Snyder says he going to do MMA later
@@nitrox1613 he tweeted it in 2016 and has made no other comments on it
I love how everybody thought Snyder was going to dominate the world of wrestling for the next decade, only for him to turn out to be the eternal runner up to a humble kid from the mountains of Dagestan.
Eternal runner up implies he never won
One Olympic Gold and Three WCs does preclude it from being that
Anybody else want to tell the dude bothering Barry Davis mid- match to shut up. 1 or 2 questions , whatever this dude bothered time for 3 minutes.....it's only the national finals so seriously keep asking stupid questions mid match
How tf is he an Olympic gold medalist and goes down to NCAA.
That’s like going from professional WBA WBC boxing champion and going down to the golden gloves
Not really. It's more like a professional boxing champion who is also a professional kickboxing champion. Wrestling in the Olympics and wrestling at the NCAA are two different styles.
@Francisco-ue4ew
He didn't 'go down to ncaa'. He did the Olympics while he was in college. Both are amateur competitions (they don't get paid), do there's no issue.
Pro boxers do get paid, so you can't go back to amateur after becoming a pro.
Plus like the other guy said, Olympic wrestling is freestyle. Ncaa is folk style. Two very different rules sets.
Well, if you want free schooling, it's not like he didn't lose against other wrestlers in the league
