Mine cannot connect to BT. Send email to Hansshow and they are just kicking me around and can not return it (product sent from China). Dont waste money on Chinese stuff. If you are lucky your device will work but we should not bet on luck for Chinese product. Over $400.00 for a lesson.
*Correction on how to output sound to car speakers via Bluetooth
When search devices in the car Bluetooth connection choose and connect to BT966 not Car BT.
Note, Car BT is only to connect to your phone for CarPlay function.
As of now the display can only output the audio to car speakers via Bluetooth.
It can’t connect to Bluetooth headphones via Bluetooth connect.
I asked Hansshow and they “The current version cannot connect to Bluetooth headsets, it may be improved in future upgrades”

yeah the piggyback adapter that he puts in between the blue plugs at 7:25 essentially void your guarantee for the car and - at least in Germany - make it illegal to drive on roads, because you introduce a component which might fiddle with safety relevant car features that was not tested and vetted by either Tesla nor official technicians from the road safety agencies (in the German case you would need an "ABE" [Allgemeine Betriebserlaubnis => general operation permit] given for exactly the type of equipment and the type of car).
If you have an accident with this installed and it turns out the electronics from your rear climate control thingy played a role, you might well lose insurance coverage and have to pay all damages caused by the accident out of your pocket

I already bought and installed the Tpsportline. I’m just happy with watching Netflix while I’m driving.
the car play is pretty good (is it ‘fake’ car play UI using android?) but the basic UI has too many features IMO. Heated seats is good, but AC/temp/fan also affects the front and thats not something I’d want the passengers in the rear changing - they can ask. So I’d prefer if they had more space on the screen for the music player (album art and larger play/pause/skip buttons and volume slider). Could use half the screen for that, half for heated seats.
It’s an actual real Apple CarPlay UI.
Thank you for your awesome input.

Yes, it would be a nice feature if there was some sort of "settings" menu with a code, where you could turn on and off the functions.
I would mainly use this to enable the backseat passengers to adjust their heated seats, i dont want them to control volume and A/C

You showed that all the audio functions (volume, track) synchronize on the front screen immediately when an adjustment is made using the rear screen. Do any of the climate functions (fan speed, temp, rear heated seats) synchronize on the front screen when you adjust from this back screen?
Fan speed and temperature sync with main screen but heated seats are not. You turn on from rear but it wont show in the main screen that it’s on. But you able to turn and off from rear display it just doesn’t show in the front display.

Thanks for most informative video. If I already have the hidden HUD connected behind the console, can I also add (daisy chain?) this control display unit as well?
You should be able to because hidden hud display uses very little power and doesn’t control anything in the car.

This one or the smaller one without media? Which you think? I know the previous version of this one (the 8 inch) has a few issues like air flow and an issue when the car updates. Which would you recommend? I don't have kids or many rear passengers but willing to pay for it just because it'd cool. But if you think the smaller one is better , I'd appreciate your recommendation. Thank you
This display offer much more options and better design in my opinion. If the cost is not an issue then I would definitely go with this display over the smaller one for the design and look in rear climate control area. Also this 7" display is actually easier to install than small one because you don't have to take original air vent insert from OEM air vent.
Don't forget to use code: DAD for that extra 25% off!

Also do you know - is there a way to also install the minimalist heads up display AND this? Was going to get both but they install into the same rear port :( …can the former plug into the front? Thanks again - great content!
I think you should be able to hook both of them to the same rear port as the Hidden from display use very little power and doesn't control anything at all.

Thanks for the video. I can’t figure out how rear passengers can control the fan speed/temperature from the rear for just the rear in my 2023 Y. Seems this would allow that. When I press “rear” on the controls I’m only seeing “fan off/on” and rear seat controls.
Tesla Model 3 & Y only has 2 zones climate front driver and front passenger so the rear passenger get whatever temperature from driver. That's the same on this display but it has ability to change temperature and turn on/off from the rear also heated seats control.

Just wondering the display cable, what is the green hanging wire for. Do you think installing ambient lighting is a great place to hide wires?
I believe the wire is for front passenger seat control option but this display doesn’t have that function.
This 7.2” display has that function: czcams.com/video/uXXHpT94kEI/video.html
Thank you for watching and your great support!🙏😃
They could have maintained the vent size and directional vanes by putting the usb ports on the lowest surface or the sides instead of pointing up.
Greta job man! quick question since you have installed both rear entertainment systems. Which would you recommend this one or the previous 8 inch?
This 7” display much easier to install, cleaner and better design but can’t connect to Bluetooth headphones.
8” displays more complicated to install and the display pops out with appearing design but has headphone jack and SIM card functions.
I prefer 7” just for the design alone and installation is much more convenient I didn’t have to connect to front MCU.
I hope I answer your question.

Any idea if this conflicts with the Hansshow dashboard screen? I already have that installed and it also has CarPlay built in, but I wonder if you can use both at the same time and/or with two different phones.
Do you feel your dashboard screen has affected your overall range? I'm always worried about this
The installation connection wouldn’t conflicted since it connects to different part of the car. As for the CarPlay, I would connect the phone to which ever is your primary use for CarPlay then use different phone to connect to rear display. Otherwise I think your phone will confuse and try to connect to whichever display that it detects first.

Hi, excellent video. Just two questions: Could the system be set to german language as the standard language? Secondly, only the back seat heating could be managed seperately form the the main control? In case you find the time to answer ... Thanks, Andreas
German is supported and can be set as the default language. The back seat heating can be controlled independent of the front: 15:09 click the time to go to the time line where it explains this in the video.
Well the one feature that I wanted doesn't seem to be there. How do you turn off rear climate control from the back? Only button that looked like it would do it is the circulate button but that one just goes from recycled air to fresh air right?
There is on/off button in the middle of the display below where you adjust the fan speed to turn off rear climate which I didn't mention in the video. Sorry.

Hi Paul. Do you have an update on this display? Any issues since installation? I see it’s now down to $300 and with your 15% it’s even lower….
This is a really clean install, was looking to add a second screen to the back just like the S and X.
However there are downsides to the functions. The rear screen suppose to only limit functions to rear passengers usage only, the climate control allows them to adjust the front passengers is going to be annoying. Secondly, the vent that's not able to move it's not ideal, some of my passengers tend to get cold and more than often adjust the vent to blow to the center rather than directly to them, i hope the design can change in the future to consider this. In terms of carplay, where's the android love....people with android is out of context here.
So instead of bigger vents you end up with smaller vent but big screen, idiocracy at its finest.
A few of ur issues dont make sense, first off, if u use split on tesla, the rear is tied to the front passenger only, not the driver. This device is android base so u can download direct to the unit any android apps, along with connecting it to android auto if u want... but is a waste as android auto is limited vs this being able to play netflix, youtube, anything even while driving. The issue of the vents i agree, already have my front passenger always complaining about not being able to turn it off... yes u cant turn off the passenger vent when someones in it... its by far the dumbest design, just like the new update, cant use cruise control(basic) not even talking about Autopilot without the brights and windshield wipers being on auto... nothing like driving through country on nice sunny day with splatting bugs and then ur wipers go off smearing more than half ur view going 80mph... then having to get out on said highway to wash them off... some of the tesla engineers need to be cleaning toilets verse writing software by their logical reasoning... Dont get me wrong i love my Tesla, but rly hate their apple approach on a lot of the things. Limiting me the owner to control my own shit is why i ditched apple 10+ years ago. If they continue down this path, they will be ditched too.
Btw for all those with passengers that hate the vent not turning off, i bought a $20 vent blocker off amazon, and it slides/stores on the side of passenger seat... Just dumb...
U could easily block these vents too, i plan to with well placed velcro and felt. But again shouldnt have too
Since their has to be an actuator for the rear climate control to function. Tesla needs a setting to limit how much that actuator opens. This would allow the rear air to be regulated….
@@Chris-hw4mq no, if they put the usb outputs on the side or bottom of the unit, you free up space to make the vents bigger.
another thing: when you play music or video, it just uses the car's speakers. So when your kids are watching Pokémon during a 4-hour trip, you'll be insane before you reach your destination. And Bluetooth is connected to your car, so they can't connect earphones to the device I guess. There needs to be at least one headphone input.
Thanks for the video that is nice. I ordered Tesla model Y on Jan 12 2023 and i am getting 2022 model. How did you get 2023 new version?
Your model Y should be 2023 not 2022.

Do you know how to change the temperature display from Celsius to Fahrenheit?
Pretty cool, would be concerned about Tesla would react to this if you needed a warranty fix..
If I need to fix any issues that has anything to do with this display. I would uninstall the display and install OEM ac vent back before contact Tesla service.
So this way Tesla Tech won’t blame the issue on aftermarket part.

Code dad doesn’t work anymore. Also do you think the 8” is better due to resolution or the 7” screen since it’s more flush and stock looking? Interested to hear your opinion between the two. I like the bigger one but worried if we recline seats real low it will hit screen on 8”.
Hi, the code: DAD should be working now. I have both displays 7” and 8” displays. I personally went with 7” because of design and installation is much easier than 8” display. The 8” installation you have to connect directly to the main MCU unit underneath grove box on the front.
7” you just need to connect and connector in the rear center console. The benefits of 8” over 7” are bigger screen size, headphone jack and option to put SIM card in the display.

is it an independent control to control AC for the rear zone or it is a duplicate control to the main display? I don't understand
Tesla Model Y/3 only have dual climate control one for driver and one for front passenger. The rear passenger will get the climate temperature from driver’s control. However when I adjust the temperature from the rear display to hot it override the front temperature too but when I adjust driver’s side temperature it also overrides the rear temperature. I installed this on my 2020 Model 3 and I can't get the screen to clip in securely to the center console. If I push on the bottom of the device to make it flush at the bottom, the top of the device pulls away from the console. If I push on the top of the unit, the bottom pulls away. Also, no matter what I do, when I open the center console, the door hits the top of the unit and pushes it back, creating a gap between the device and the center console. I spoke to Hansshow about it, but they just told me to glue it in place. Not a great solution. Did you run into this issue? Thanks.
I didn’t have that issue at all and this display should fit your car. Because the rear center console air vent on 2020-2023 should be the same. Make sure the wires are not in the way when you try to push it back in. Also check if both sides of the air vent are clear before you push it in.

Awesome video! Does the screen turn off at the same time as your main screen? Specifically when you get out of the car. Also, does the screen change from light to dark automatically light the main screen?
Yes to all of your questions.
You can also manually put the display to sleep if you don’t want bright light on the rear display at night.

Thanks for sending me the link to this. I see there is a 2 usbc option. Can you upload media via usbc like you can with the usba?
You can only use the USB-A on left side to Import media into the display.
Thank you for watching John!
@@dadstoyscars Awesome, thanks for clarifying... do they make a screen protector, i'm not seeing one
@@johnmoricone294 I don’t think they offer screen protector for it. You might be able to find on Amazon that’s in similar size. I don’t put anything on mind and it’s fine. I just need to clean it once in awhile.
Does it matter which model to choose on the site? I have a ‘21 M3. Also should I chose type A or type C?
You should choose the option that match your car year and model.
Choose type C for usb port but I think it comes with both anyway.

Have you visited tesla service center for any issue with this device installed? I wonder if they are gonna be problematic with it about your warranty - they are pretty strict sometimes. I wonder if they see it and void your warranty on your display issue (or even mcu unit itself). The tesla i know does that when they see a after market product installed. That would be my only concern about the device before purchasing.
Yes, Tesla technician came to fix my door after I install the display and I even showed him the display but he didn't say anything about the warranty issues at all.
If it would ever have any issue that would positively cause by this display, I would just take it out and put OEM air vent back in before contacting Tesla service. It's very easy to install and uninstall so it should be quick to do that.

is there features to disable the menu at the back, let them only watch, or with limited function?
Unfortunately you can’t lock the features on this display.
There is also a new version of this display with faster processor, better resolution and more features.

Please update when they fix the bluetooth headphones issue. that is a deal breaker, to have audio piping through all the speakers.
Will do! Thank you for your support!🙏👍
Can you tell me if the additional size interferes with the rear seats folding down ?
Nor at all. It actually the same size as OEM air vent as you can see when I compared them before the installation.

This is great! Thank you! Does installing do anything to the manufacturer warranty?
This rear display doesn’t have to connect directly to the main MCU. So I don’t it will void the warranty. Noted that Tesla will not responsible for any issue cause by aftermarket parts same as any others car manufacturers.
This rear display is best design and easiest to install so far.

Thank you! My model Y is in route for delivery right now 🎉 with the nice incentive😊

How do you select this device to use car’s internet instead of using phone hotspot? Also the sound play via bluetooth through cars speakers are very low. I have to turn the car volume almost to max to hear
Tesla car doesn't allow to share or turn into wifi hotspot. You can try adjust volume in display setting.
I'm just out here wondering, if you could install this into the Model S , ( the one before the Plaid Overhaul ) , does anyone know ?
This display will not fit pre refresh Model S or X because it design to fit and replace Model 3/Y rear center console air vent. Also the connect on Model S/X will be different.

So you can control the temp/fan speed independent of the front AC? I didn’t think that would be possible
I just went to my car and tested for you.
I hope I answer your questions.

Interesting! Yeah i didnt think it would be able to create its own independent zone when the default software doesn’t allow that. Thanks so much for looking into it… I might consider getting one. I do hope they update the software to have bigger buttons, etc..

Hi which model would i choose for my 2023tesla model y long range..there are several options: “model y” and “model y standard range made in usa” thank you in advance.
It should be “Model Y” option for Model Y LR.
There is also an updated version of the rear display which has faster processor and you can connect to Bluetooth headphones and controller which this older version don’t have.
Here is a full review of new display:

I don't know if I want ALL that control in the back especially when it affects the front. There should be a way to limit functionality. All I would want is rear fan control, rear heat control, entertainment, and that's it.
I have a question....can this display also be mounted on model y in Italy? both this display and the central one, the temperature is expressed in C. can I use the temperature distinctly?
Thank you for the asnwer and best regards
I believe you can. As long as your car has the same connection in the rear of your center console, you should be able to mount and install it on you model Y.

How do you change the temp from C to F. I tried to download the update from Hansshow but could not update it in the car. Your experience on this problem is much appreciated. Long time follower.
As far as I know you can’t change unit from C to F on this rear display. I have tried to go through all the setting.
Thank you for your great support!!🙏
Been looking into getting one of these for my new Model Y. Can you confirm if the display still works on CZcams/Netflix etc while the car is in motion?
Yes, the display still work when the car is in motion.
So if they watch a show in back will it have its own sound or will it go through to everyone sound wise?
If connect display with car's speaker via Bluetooth, the sound will output to all of the speakers.

I wonder what happens if the Tesla software updates and breaks the unit, how easy is the firmware to update? Otherwise this is SUPER COOL!!!
Since it’s has Wi-Fi connection in the display, you can upload firmware directly from your home Wi-Fi. Another option is via USB drive.
