This unit is super buggy. I installed it last week. The Bluetooth will override the teslas and you get echo.. the time does not stay set unless you constantly connect it to your hotspot. The gps does not work at all.Air flow is all over the place with strange speed issues and it changes too,middle, floor air flow flickers on and off clicking all the time. This seems to happen when car is idle. This unit needs software refinement and updates to fix all these issues. Lastly once you set a wallpaper it seems you can’t then use the themes. Another lousy buggy rear screen half baked implementation @tesstudio customer support is next to nothing for help so far.

@@tcr73903 Tesla won’t make one to add aftermarket. I think you just need to have less expectations with these units. I wanted airflow ✅ the time issue seems to have resolved connecting to hotspot is good. Netflix or Amazon audio is a mess(playing out of the speaker on unit) no customer support is my biggest issue now. Would love to see updates available with all the feedback but this company just ghosts you all the day. It works. I use movies anywhere app on it with occasional audio issues.
Is there any rear display that you think is stable and worth getting?
@@cassysamel3914 this one has improved somewhat not sure why but the clock issue now works. The audio still isnt great but I have yet to try with headphones to see if it’s any better. For the price this one is the top and the air vents are great.

my model Y 2024 has different screw at the front seats, it's no longer t20 but a bolt needs allen key..

The display will not override whatever is showing on the main display but when you change the temperature on the main display it will change on the rear display.
At the moment you can’t change the start up animation.

On my 24 MYLR the passenger side had a 8mm bolt and not the 20torq screw. The one wire to the drivers seat is just for the massage setting and not to control the seat. Will see how well things work out with it. Did a Can update on it and everything seems to be working well. Will see how Tesstudios will do on their updates.

Do the massage functions in the front seats work? Why are front seats heating not working?
Tesla Y rear wheel drive standard range 2024 can be installed the same way with same wiring as the one you explained. May be the older model standard range have different configuration. Thanks for your videos.

Thank you I was wondering about that before I buy it
I have a standard range MY. Without OBD under the rear air vents. The harness for the other port at the passengers side OBD connector + power supply did not power the screen. I tried everything. For all SR owners: there is an OBD port same as the one from LR/Performance in the middle console driver side. Unfortunately the harness then isn’t long enough. So I had to make a new long harness by soldering some longer cables on the OBD connection and power supply. Think of that before you buy the screen as a SR user.

I tried connecting 2 devices to the same plug and it worked fine.
Since the wire they provided is a pass through plug you can connect another plug another device to the same one.

I always ask this question regarding the rear screens, does the screen turn off completely off when you're not using the vehicle so it doesn't drain the battery?
Do you think it would be possible to have a splitter for the main USB C port so you can have a two dongles and play 2 player games?
I know you mentioned how it pokes out a little bit at the bottom upon installing but if you have kids back there, does it seem likely that if they kick forward or try to move from the left seat or the right seat that they will kick the screen?
I have a model 3 and I just want to make sure I'm making the right choice here. I kind of want your exact setup where you have the dash screen and the rear screen. You were very thorough with this video and applaud the time and money it took to make this video. Just know we followers appreciate all that you do!

The rear display will be completely off when the car is off and it will go sleep mode when not using it for a few minutes to save energy and reduce brightness at night.
The brand mentioned to me that it can connect to 2 wireless controllers with wireless dongles if you have splitter for it.
I never actually test it as I only have one controller.
I don’t think the bottom part that sticking out would be an issue.

Nice review, overall great display, however..I am having problem connecting a blue tooth headphone...it pairs but sound only goes to screen itself.

Same here. I tried connecting a few different Bluetooth headsets. I can pair it using the set up option and the bt transmitter app. But no audio from the inbuilt speaker or the headset when stuff is playing. How do I get audio working through the headset?
My order from Hansshow never came with the emergency plug cap for the original power wire for the USB ports. Horrible. Also should’ve read the reviews before ordering
It was easy to install. Works fine. How do you turn the screen off, or can you turn the entertainment system off?
You can turn on Rear Seat sensor in the main setting menu so when there is no one in the rear seat the display will off.
So in your opinion, which one is a better, more OE experience for the screens, this one or the "New Tesla Model Y/3 LARGEST Rear Entertainment Display" that you tested a Month before this one? I got the H7Plus screen right now and because I got a Hannshow version, it has the gaudy logo on it so I wanted to get rid of it. The H7Plus has issues where it doesn't sync day/night mode bothers me. On top of that, the display has the decimal points on the Fahrenheit instead of the nice round numbers on OE. Does any of the 2 screens you tested fix the follow day/night mode issue or the temperature decimal point at least?
This screen doesn't have dark mode. It's bright at night, which can be very annoying.

No, this rear screen display doesn’t connect to front screen entertainment function. It runs on its own operating system for the apps on the display.

How do you connect the Bluetooth with the car speakers? How do you get the audio to come out the car speaker?

Model Y doesn’t have same screw for Seat. Screw is hard to remove and impossible to put back. Seat control cable was too tight, couldn’t remove 😢. Is there any Pin to push in order to remove seat cable ?
My first attempt was the same experience too but you just have to carefully pull it out. As for the screw on the front passenger seat, I would recommend to move all the way up before you try to unscrew it.
same for me, mine one has different screw, like a bolt
Question:
1. When setting the temperature and fan level in front does it automatically set in the back?
2. Given the volume is low on the system can you connect a portable Bluetooth speaker?
3. While driving can you change or mskip videos from your phone or is it done manually?
3. As of right now, would you say this is the best system out there? There are so many options out there.

Hi, here are my answers.
1. When you adjust temperature and fan on the main it will change in the back too.
2. You can connect the display to Bluetooth headphone but I never try Bluetooth speaker.
3. The display has its own apps which can't be controlled by your phone. You can play and apps while the car is driving.
4. I believe this one is one of the best so far in term of screen size and what it offers.
However a few people have issues with this display which I don't have.

I connected the display to my phone WiFi hotspot not Tesla premium connectivity from the car.
Tesla doesn’t allow the car to share internet connection.

@@ratedr1977 There is an option to turn on the rear seat sensor so when there is no one in the rear seat the display will be off.

I Agree with below, software is supper buggy. Most frustrating is the fact you cannot change the time. It seems to stay on Beijing time even though I set the times zone to my country Australia. What is then enjoying is when the unit goes into sleep mode the clocks displays the wrong time. This seems a common problem with most of these rear screens. This is the second brand now that doe the same thing.

@dadstoyscars if you watch the video it does not clearly show if they allow or disallow something as there finger is either in the way or video is not on that section, typically a very poor video instruction from China. Also note the seat adjustment only moves the drivers side seat on right hand drive vehicles. I was told by Tes Studio this would be fixed with a software update. Still waiting for the update………
Feels a little bit laggy though when playing some movie apps or games, is it the internet or because it does not have that much RAM or a little slow CPU?
I think it’s more responsive and load faster than many of the display I have tested.
It’s android 12 with 4GB of ram.

So long video without telling if the display also changes in the front. If you change the heating in the back, can you also see that on the main screen? Or if you set 25 degrees, does it also say 25 degrees in the front? Without this function, no screen is worth it.

@@yogipower1598 Technically a person could depending on all the incentives offered (Tesla, federal gov, state) but it has to be like a perfect scenario. It's cause everyone who talks about Tesla MY being cheap doesn't include all the added fees, sales tax, etc which ends up being a good amount on top of the final MY purchase price. With that being that, some states have extra incentives which could reduce the price. However, some states also have EV fees so people have to make sure they check that out before buying.

I installed this screen today, works fine. Only 1 thing is annoying. The volume of the bluetooth headphone is really low. Is there a place to adjust it. I put all the volume controls allready on max. Also if you use youtube or similar without headphones there is no sound. Also nothing from the speakers of the screen itself.

Yes, you have to connect to your phone WiFi hotspot. Go to the settings in the apps menu. Then select Network WLAN. Please make sure to turn WiFi hotspot on your then it should show up in network list. Also don’t forget to switch on Use Wi-Fi.

You have to pair your Bluetooth headphones with Bluetooth Transmitter app in the main app page not from setting menu.

I tried pairing it through the bt transmitter app too. Doesn't work even then. Do you only pair it on the bt transmitter app and not the screen android settings app?
Finally figured it out. Do NOT pair your BT headphones from the system settings Bluetooth menu. If you have, delete it there. Pair it ONLY using the BT transmitter app. It'll work then.

I don't know of completely resetting the screen to factory settings will also bring it back. I unfortunately returned my screen because it was slow and laggy.
How many Watt/hour does it consume? I saw something on internet that might go up to 20-30Watts/hour which is quite a lot
I reached out to Te Studio with your question. They said the display usually consumes about 10-25 watts.

Hi, thank you for your reply. Meanwhile I have done my own test with a 12inch tablet and it was consuming about 5-6W/Hour so I assume that this screen should be consuming about the same or less if it is not used to process anything but show an image of the vents for example.. The 20-30W/hour is a lot honestly. That means that if I drive at 100km/h for an hour, instead of 150W/100Km the car will consume 180W/100Km. If I feel that kind of impact, I wil take it off. Also be careful that the software is not great. I had huge problem when the seat was heating while on the main screen and rear screen was off. What happened was the following: I have preaheated the car along with the rear seats, the rear passenger deactivated the heating from the rear screen, but on my main screen the heating was still appearing on. When I turned that off from the main screen, the seat has started to heat again... Horrible.
When playing on netflix the sound starts and stops, do you know what the problem can be?

I had to unplug and re plug the big harness in the back of the screen to get mine to work. Maybe I didn't plug it all the way the first time?
For me worked for a few days, then got unresponsive. Will try the replug of the main harness and report back if that’s the fix.

It will only affect the part that you replace.
In this case would be the original rear air vent. But if your car had issues that may cause by the display I would replace with original part before connecting Tesla technician.

@@dadstoyscarsjust installed today. The drivers seat cable is the super thin one and the passenger is the more wrapped one. I reversed but I’m not using the passenger one so I just left it as is since it’s quite difficult to get the plug to the seat happy so far. Can you use a headphone splitter to the left port? Or one wired and one wireless headset for kids? Would be nice to have more screen saver options and maybe a way to use phone to change settings. The menus are kinda clunky. What about updates? What is the plan for this manufacturer to get us updates as they come out?? Thanks.
Can you have 2 blutooth headphones connected at the same time?
You can only connect one Bluetooth headphones at the time.
You might be able to use the USB-C port and connect another headphones.

Hey quick question on the rear screen, how come my screen never stayed on. It just turn off by itself, it there any setting that I need to adjust.
Is there anyone seating in the rear seat when it turns off? There's a setting (go to 21:30 in his video) where, if it senses that there's no one sitting in the back, it will turn off by itself (option is "rear seat sensor"). If that's turned on, that is what will happen. Keep it turned off if you want to leave the screen on all the time.

Go to the setting menu on bottom far right and turn off Rear seat sensor and the display will always on but if you turn the seat sensor back on it will turn off the display when there is no one seating in the back.

How can I send the audio from the rear screen speakers to my Tesla Model Y speakers? When I select the bluetooth settings, on the rear screen display, the MAC address for my Tesla does not appear.

I just tested the OTA update but it didn’t work so you would have t download the file and put the thumb drive then plug it in manually for software update.

I bought this and can not get Bluetooth headphones to connect. Only through the speakers on unit. It says my AirPods are connected but no sound. Any ideas
Please make sure to connect the Bluetooth headphone with the settings menu in the apps menu not from the bigger section setting menu.

Finally figured it out. Do NOT pair your BT headphones from the system settings Bluetooth menu. If you have, delete it there. Pair it ONLY using the BT transmitter app. It'll work then.
Can you put the “seat sensor” on in the settings and let us know what that does?
I believe rear seat sensor on/off is for seat belt warning sensor.

I got the reply from Tes Studio.
For seat sensor function, when rear seat have no people the screen will trun off after 5 minutes.

Is it possible to cast your phone's screen on the display? How about playing a CZcams video from your phone without touching the display?
The display does have mirroring function.
I tried mirroring function on a few displays and non of them are really stable.

Thanks for checking. I placed an order for this display last week but the unit has not shipped yet. I was hoping that I could play CZcams videos from my driver seat to the back on long road trips since I don't want my kids to explore the contents by themselves.

So far I think this largest display is one of best both functions and value.
There might be a new display coming in March. I’m still waiting to see the functionality and what it can do.

Yes, both CarPlay and Android Auto.
Does this void tesla warranty?
It will void the part that you replaced or remove. So it will void the warranty on OEM rear air vent but you can always put it back in like nothing happens.

You will not have unlimited data from your phone hotspot. You can get unlimited data when you use a tablet data.
At least in my case.
Why not just get an iPad for behind the headrests? Kids will have a messed up back if they are looking down so much
Be forewarned that if you have any issues with this screen, you're going to be waiting a while for support. Support seems to be out of Hong Kong so 12 hours time difference than U.S.. I've sent multiple emails to them of pictures & video of the problems and a week later I'm still waiting for any actual support.

@@calspyro that's correct. Must be connected to a phone hotspot to enable internet on the road. There are some models out there that claim to support a 4G LTE sim similar to a tablet/ipad but i haven't seen any reviews or video
Of this actually working. The only rear display that uses the Tesla connection is in the new 2024 Model 3 and Model X.

@@calspyro that's correct. You cannot connect through your Tesla premium connectivity. You can connect to your home WiFi or through your phones hotspot.
Why in the heck do these companies refuse to allow two bluetooth headphones to be used??? Has been a long time deal breaker for me. Someone like you probably has some pull in requesting these features. Please tell them to get their s*it together and get it added, please!! lol

It looks horrible with that excess frame at the bottom. SMH
The only way you would see that angle is when you in the car in rear passenger area at a very low position. (If you that part doesn’t look good)

It's a weird and awkward position to do anything with that screen....play video games, watch movies, use the internet.....etc.. I find it useless and a waste of money. It's only good for static displays and for adjusting certain car settings from the rear seat.
I have this screen in my Model S and it is certainly not useless or a waste of money because it now comes standard in all Tesla models. But my kid connects their AirPods to the screen and watch movies or play the games with their ps5 controller. It keeps them occupied and out of my hair while I’m driving or on an important call. lol great feature for our family!
