This is an informative video but very games-centric. It would be good to do a version focused on those who would consider it for better Zoom, Meet or Teams presentations. For Zoom meetings is there any video advantage of the Streamer X over a Camlink 4K?
Hey there, thanks for the feedback- we'll keep that in mind for future Streamer X content.
There are several advantages of the Streamer X over other systems. One is that the Streamer X is an audio interface for wired and wireless microphones, and audio effects for giving your voice professional sound quality. It also has buttons for toggling your mic and camera on and off, and "presentation mode" where the buttons on the device can be used to control a deck of slides.
Ultimately, it really depends on your use case and what you will find helpful.
HI@@rodemic I have a left-field product suggestion for RODE. Thousands of your customers interview people on their shows using Zoom, Teams, Meet, Skype or Ecamm. Often the guest sounds like crap, despite sometimes being a world expert, and people just switch off he video within seconds. It would be great if you created a "guest kit" of a wired earbud with connectors for audio jack, lightning or USBc, that the interviewer could send the guest to use. This would place the in-wire mic in front of their mouth, AND you could have subtle RODE branding on it, just like Apple did with white earbuds. No doubt you could have Rode tech create a better in-line mic than others available. You could charge a premium over Apple wired earbuds. It would solve a common problem and be great free brand promotion. Guests are typically ignorant of this, but all want people to consume all their wisdom. This requires good audio. Is it possible to set a delay for the XLR input to match the delay we get from the camera HDMI output? It needs to stay saved in the device itself so there is no need to change the setting when connecting the RODE Streamer X to other devices.

Awesome. Now release more virtual tracks for RCP2. We’ve been waiting for 8+ months now. Another product did this in 3 weeks. It’s absurd at this point. You guys don’t understand how many people are willing to switch to RCP2 for their content creation but can’t yet because of this one missing feature that has been promised for a long time now.

@@rodemicSorry, I’m not rest assured and neither are a lot of owners of RCP2. As stated before, other companies with interfaces have added these features within weeks of them being requested. Of course, every product is different but it’s very apparent that this feature isn’t a high priority on your to-do list, and that’s a massive mistake.
You are making products geared towards streamers recently while missing incredibly important features for them. This being a huge one. I personally know/work with some of the biggest streamers in gaming and when I show off my RCP2, they ALL jump and want one until I have to explain to them the very important missing feature.
You guys know what a GOXLR is and it gained its popularity all thanks to streamers. Now that hardware is outdated and people are looking for the next audio interface. Not having more virtual tracks is literally a deal breaker for most of them.
By simply adding this feature, you are essentially paying for free advertising to millions of people, the same thing that happened with the GOXLR. All that exposure of your product will trickle down to other products in your line up. Adding this feature is truly a no brainer.
Is the Video Passthrough Output also carries Audio output ?
What is the highest output resolution I can get from the USB-C into my computer? I have been reading all your specs Docs and I coldn't find it. I thought this video would address it but nothing.
It will broadcast up to 4K30 but you can input as high as 4K60 or 4K60 HDR.

Hey, I think you had a good idea with the streamer X. But for saying it is the one device you missed some functionality.
One main reason, I can't use it is that it only has one audio input / control. There needs to be a at least one more control. Why? Most people I know use Zoom or similar for video conferences. One of the big problems is bringing some audio next to the Mic into zoom and have the ability to control the volume of that sound in a good way.
So great would be the streamer x if there is a second audio level control, where the audio source can be the PC (Spotify, ...), an audio in or BT-Connection to feed audio from a smartphone or tablet.
Compleate audio mixed together in the device will then be send back to the PC - that would be great.
For "video muting" it would be great to define a picture that is showen, when the camera is disabled.
At least, I am no gaming streamer but you say, the device is great for them. Thinking in that way, the device should be able to handle two video streams. One capturing the Gameplay HDMI path through and one for the streamers camera itself.
With that functionality the device would be a really great all in one basic device 🎉
Why USB-C port #2 do not have input? Its only have output right now. I use lasted firmware and Unify for Mac beta. When i connect the usb-c #2 to another macbook and open Skype on that macbook, i can only pick Skype speaker as Streamer X Seccondary, for Skype mic i can pick Secondary too but no sound. I think its a bug

No, the RØDECaster Pro II doesn't have a capture card. Currently, the Streamer X is the only device we make with a capture card, but there are others out there.
If one already has a capture card, can the Rodecaster Duo be connected to a PS5? So I can use the XLR mic for game and party chat
Yes you can over USB2!
@@rodemic someone mentioned yeah it works but the audio gets distorted every 20mins, so they have to unplug to fix it

Hello, can i connect 2 mics to streamer x? Or 2 webcams? Or both? ...
When using the Streamer X with RØDE UNIFY, you can use one XLR mic, one Wireless mic (like a Wireless ME transmitter) and one headset microphone, like the NTH-100M's microphone, at the same time. Webcams aren't compatible with the Streamer X at this time.

Honestly, the only “video capture card” I would buy is the YoloBox as is the only device that does it all, without the need of a computer and gives the total freedom to livestream from anywhere and connect 2, 3 and even 4 cameras. So, thank you rode, but I don’t see any advantage on your device. Most modern cameras already allow me to connect a camera to a computer through usb connection.
Another solution is the BlackMagic Atem Mini Pro.
Can you capture a computer screen as a hdmi input
Yes you can, you will just need to use a capture software like OBS on your main computer and select the HDMI device (in this case the computer) you want to record with, then screen record as you would if on stream!

I love rode, but there is some false info in this video. There are webcams that are great in low light, great contrast and have the ability to change the depth of field.
That's a good point- there are certainly higher quality webcams out there. There some downsides that apply to all webcams, though, such as being less compatible with other devices. Ultimately it's something people will have to decide based on their use case.
