I’ve been waiting on a deal for the DML811. Seems like the best value.
Makita Cordless Brushless Lights*
Thank you!
This video was very illuminating :)
Cheesy and we love it! Great review as always!
I just got the big boy with a redemption offer and it’s really good 👌 also got my td172d in the mail also frothing that
i likes that makita wobble light i like the three settings.
Jeebus that area light is gigantic. I thought it was a size of a small room lamp till you walked up to it. I'd probably even take that camping with me.
it always seems a missed opportunity when you can plug something in and doesn't charge the battery's
This is why, despite having makita for the last 15 years, I'm slowly moving to Milwaukee.
As an electrician the big thing was the milwaukee packout area light. Today I'm going in to do a main distribution changeover. I can plug this light in to make use of wall power and have it charging the battery. When I knock mains power off the light wont even flicker, itll automatically kick over to battery at same settings. Doing this way the light with 3000lumens is more than enough for me to see anything I need, I can angle the 3 lights any way I need, and 1 5ah keeps me going all day though it's good to know that I can go as high as 12ah should I really need 2 days of runtime
I think it's mainly about heat , as the batts sit in a dust proof watertight compartment inside the lights - charging in that environment could be problematic. Also no charge electronics in the lights keeps them cheaper, lighter and less prone to failure . In a perfect world it would be great. But all things considered I don't feel it's a miss at all, and think it's better to keep charging separate.
LED lights sure have come a long way - but they’re still quite pricey.
Love the “wobble light” (I have the original).
Job site lighting is a real issue. My one big job mistake was a direct result of inadequate lighting.
I can see these finding a secondary market as emergency lighting (for when the power fails). Rechargeable batteries with a shelf life - how far they’ve come as well.
Been waiting for this video from you for quite a while, but you knocked it out of the park. Only real video where all of them have been compared together. Quite pumped for these to get remodeled into XGT so we can have the higher Ah batteries and run them for significantly longer. Getting two 811's seems like the best compromise so you could spread the light source from two directions, might mod them to have a diffuse cover get more even lighting.
XGT will be used for tools like this, as well as every other type of tool as it is a complete tool line.
@Steve D They actually already sell a model like the 811 in xgt form
This one. czcams.com/video/M7I0q7GDEkA/video.html
Scangrip also has 10K Lumens battery lights. And even brighter ones.
Thanks as a general purpose work light or perhaps having one handy for a power outage how long will they last on the different battery packs?
Should do a review on the no brand cordless airless paint gun that uses makita batteries. I got one today for $140aud and its actually great quality, packaging and instructions. Yet to try it out.
Very nice Rewieu..👍👍
What river is that ,,, would like to see ref/link or something to the other intro shots also ,, cheers ,, btw your channel is awesome mate .
I have the 809 and it seems to run the batteries down together? Not sure what's going on there 🤔
Hey boss , just need to know the name of the cord for the battery light my one is stuffed I need to get a new one , would you know the name of the cord itself ?
Can you do grill cheese sandwiches on 811?
I have the 805 , have had for years. Great for when I’m working in a roof or down the side of house.
But was looking at buying more of area light.
I like the novelty of the channel maker and that it throws light in all directions without have to move it.
Was going to grab one a few weeks ago but Sydney tools didn’t have it in stock.
I bough the new hand held touch. For what it is It works really well. Highly recommend.
Thanks for this nice review. More « Jobsite Life » review 👍

My Mrs just said “why does he measure it in lemons 🍋?” 😂😂
🤣
💥 8:57 “Weebles wobble but they won’t fall down”
Great lights, but they should have made these lights dimmable. This way you can adjust the light to what you need, especially if the keep the 3 modes as well.
Agree. 3 modes is a bit too little.
💥 They have 3 different brightness settings.
@@Jimmy_Cavallo Yes, but I meant an adjustable setting like on the new Metabo and Metabo HPT and the old Ridgid.
I want these but they're so expensive
Me too, I don’t get why they’re at least double the price of basically any of their powertools.
If u change the frames per second u record your videos at it will fix the issues u were having with the lights on the lower settings.
Hey cut the guy some slack. He has to shoot, edit and post the videos while fighting off earth sharks and flying scorpion kings, not to mention the internet spider webs but that's worldwide now. A+ for effort!!
Elucidating indeed.💡😏
Where do you live? Looks like Otago, Cromwell
Weebles wobble but they won't fall down!
I just need the smalest version. For quick work up to 1 week or in thight spots.
If your on a big site and your there for 1-2weeks or even 1-2 months.. i just hoock up 1-2 10k lumen cord lights i got for 30 bucks.
Way Cheaper and no messing around with Battery swaps. And less anoying if ith gets stolen/Destroyed.
I just ordered a DML811. Cords are such a trip hazard.
Nice lights, but Lutec lights are a much better value! 👍🏻
They're only 2000 lumen
Must work for lutec.
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL Nope! Just a customer, and their lights are great.

Weebils wobble but they don't fall down.
This light falls down if you push it hard enough.
WEEBELs wobble but they don't fall down...
In all honesty, Milwaukee dominates the lighting sector of the cordless market. It's nice to see Makita have finally made an attempt at competing but it's years too late and I still think They're behind.
That 10k lm unit looks decent mind.
they're not missing anything crucial anymore. All these lights (except the rocket light) came out around the same time too, so they knocked out everything they were desperately missing in one go. Better late than never is the only thing worth saying about it at this point.
This light is brighter than every light milwaukee makes except for that $3000 light.
@Marc Owens It is now but milwaukees main lighting line was already on the market for 3 years before this. Makita have been playing catch up.
Did you mortgage your house to buy all these? 💰💲
I guess thats why were here to support his videos so he can do the spending and hardwork for us..:)
I need a Patreon page.
Makita dropped the ball here in my opinion. All of them are way over priced for what they are. I can have 5 DML 801's running and the room is lit up like the sun! for a fraction of the cost of this bollocks.
Apart from the number of batteries required, and the time taken to charge them, which unfortunately is why these are so expensive
New 40V XGT 1.100lm LED Work Light *ML003G.* How disappointing 😒
There are bigger ones coming...
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL You reassure me. Bigger but also Hybrid I hope!
I have the one that is the non detachable version and it really is a piece of shit
