He is not a monk but you can learn martial arts at Shaolin temple. The monks certainly strengthen his neck the way I saw in many videos. Very impressive. He then may learn kickboxing after his Shaolin training.
10 years on a shaolin cloister you are not a master, you need 20 to 25 years, with the full hardening programm

Shaolin Monks are a different level. They practise Iron Body Hardening which increases their durability. This is why they can tank so many blows (4:04).
Yi Long isn't even a monk though....he never went to a temple, he is a trained Sanda fighter from a Chinnese sports center.
He uses the Monk gimmick for promotional reasons.

There are very good giants fighters, like the russian giant that went 50-2 in boxing. In one of his lost match his opponent said he broke his arm punching the giant chin. Their size means their bones are crazy big, if they train as a fighter early the bones would be so hard for people to even kick the legs and punch the faces at high force without damaging themselves.

I was trained by these monks since I was 2. When I cut high branches in trees, I pull myself up from branch to branch. I crack the branch by swinging in it, then spin around to break it the rest of the way - fall to the ground with the branch.
