Hey Shrimp Keepers,
The first International Shrimp Competition USA is finally here. A ton of great breeders and hobbyists have submitted some amazing looking shrimp for the contest this year. I wanted to make this video to show all of you the amazing shrimp on display for this contest. I'm not sure how many freshwater shrimp tanks that are on display or even how many shrimp but it is well over 50 aquariums and over 200 shrimp, I would say. They have everything from Taiwan bee shrimp to Neocaridina shrimp to tiger forms.
At this point, my favorite shrimp group for the 2016 USA Shrimp Competition has to be the Santa super crystal red shrimp... they are hands down sexy! The more I think about it, the more I want them lol The golden back yellows are outstanding although they are so finicky that I would be afraid to bring them home.
All in all, I am extremely pleased with the contest this year. Hobbyists from around the world came together and truly made this event come together. I definitely think there will be a second annual shrimp contest next year.
I hope you all enjoyed the video and I hope to see some of you all tomorrow for Saturdays' events. Make it an awesome night and I'll see some of you tomorrow!

The color you were struggling with is like a dusty yellow. That is one of the strangest shrimp colonies I have ever seen. Thanks so much for sharing this with us. I didn't think I would ever get to see a competition. I live in Maine and don't have the means right now to make that happen, but hopefully someday. This is just a real treat!
@15:50 "reds"
HAHA triggered me so much cause they are green.
I forgive you for being colour blind.
"no color alteration" lol

7:24 That mamma blue bolt fanning the eggs is super cool.
Thank you for the fantastic video coverage of the shrimp! Love the red and white whatevertheyare at 11:15. With the mostly red and a bit of white they look like they have little Santa suits on lol ^.^
Great video man. Just beginning my hobby with three nano's containing colonies of Royal Blues, Crystal Red, and Cherries all breeding well.. after seeing this video ordered six more nano tanks and will certainly invest in 6 more unique varieties and hope to create more colonies. Thanks for sharing

Today is Tuesday November 5, 2018 @ 8:15 AM. For CZcams viewers, that is the proper stamp on date and Time in America . If one would watch an old video, then we can know how old your vid is. I know there are other methods to know when, and where your vid is from, but the one I mentioned is the easiest way! I enjoy watching your vids. When I’m ready for Shrimps, you’ll be one of the first to visit.
So cute oh and the shrimp too

With the orange eyed blue tigers... is the lack of color on the small just because they are male? That big female was absolutely stunning.

I just subbed! Great channel!
Nice!
Thanks :D
I am guessing you guys use HEAVILY seeded materials for the tank setups right?
I really dig you and your knowledge with these cute little guys. Iam a beginner red rili breeder and you have helped me along the way so many times. Is there a way I can message you privately for questions I may have
That it I am going to my aquarium store and buying some cherries
haahah woohoo! If they on't do well, get some from us. USA bred is always best
Why is there so much die off? Is it due to the move and the display tanks? I am confused about how so many beautiful shrimp could be going. It sort of makes me hesitant to ever do it. I mean, some die off maybe, but holy. :( It's super sad.
that shade u couldn't see was like a goldish color
very cool! I wish I could see it
some really nice shrimp. Just one question, why do they use soil for the neos since it lowers kh and ph?
+Daniel Mallia great question Daniel! I would say they just did it to prevent ammonia spike from being toxic to the shrimp. Or they did it to just be uniform.
what filter and light are being used in these small tanks to display this beautiful shrimp?
They are the tanks from JBJ. I want to say they are 2 gallons and come with the internal filter
What type of shrimp are the one's between 11:16-11:26?
I want to order some but your blue dreams are still out of stock :-(. Let me know as soon as you get more.
Sad about the deaths and the stressed shrimp. Some hiding spots would help a little.
What the hell are those green nets in the tanks?
It keeps the moss from floating up.
oh, kk! thx.
Does anyone know what tank is the one they use for displays?
I think it's a JBJ 2 gallon but I'm not 100% sure
Hey man I wanna buy a couple of shrimps from you but i live in jamaica im wondering if it would be possible for you to ship some to jamaica?
No I cant :( sorry my friend
All the shrimp look quite stressed to me.showing is very harsh on the participants.
R.I.P. Trash-Man
At 15:51 you said "reds" but those were green. I don't want to sound like a jerk tho. Great video as always.
he said he was colorblind
you jerk haha jk! I'm color blind and can't see certain shades :D
The shrimp you couldn't tell the color of was an orange color
you're a good man Jeremy! Miss you my friend! Need to make a trip to Columbus soon
