    I tried playing with my nephew like this when he was 1 but my sis-in-law got mad and offended, saying he can’t understand anything yet. 😕 I learned from my college classes that stimulating a 1 year old this way is not only fun but also healthy! My sis-in-law misunderstood me. My nephew is now 4 and he’s coddled, gets frustrated easily, and has anger issues. 😕 I hope for my baby (I’m 7 months pregnant right now), things will be different. I’ll research and read and do the best I can for my baby. I hope he’ll turn out to be a happy, healthy kid.

      You are so right - something interesting - a baby is born with a 100 billion brain cells. In the first 3 years 700 connection is made every second. So a baby learns the most within the first 3 years.

    My baby was born premature so I was told she would be behind in the beginning compared to other babies. She is 4 months old I try to keep her engaged all the time. Doing tummy time playing with the toys and encouraging her to touch them because my baby doesn't reach for them at all. I talk to her all the time and have her look at my mouth when I want her to say simple words. I also stick my tongue out and she does it and it seems like she is trying to say the words I repeat to her. I'm a new mom so I'm not sure if I'm doing this correctly so I started looking up videos to help me. So she can catch up to babies who were born newborn. I'm glad other moms make videos giving advice and showing new moms so we won't be so lost. It is much appreciated.

    I do brain boosting games with my son he's 7 months old too, especially the cup one and he's soooo good at it. Being a parent and educator I truly believe that every child is exceptional all one needs is repetition repetition and lots of reinforcement of anything and kids are magical once they master any thing.

      I think you can observe and try and see what your child is inte in and then let your child explore because it is very important for you to understand that your child will only love something if it interest your baby. See what your baby loves you don't need to necessarily do what is shown in the video there are thousands of other activities.

      She is advanced linguistically and has excellent acting skills for a three years old on this video. Thank you for the suggestion I would love to make many more videos. however now, being a mother of three, with a 4 month old, I usually work and edit videos, nights usually 3am, if all children happen to sleep. Maybe I could use old footage, Natalia was counting to ten and skip counting (I say one, she says two, I say three, and so forth) when she was only 15 months old, I have this footage somewhere. Thanks again, make sure to like, share and subscribe for more videos in the future

      Similarly, Natalia slept on average 2hr/day, a few minutes here and there, the only time she was calm is when she was cognitively engaged, she still loves learning, also she came down when swimming together. Best of luck and may God bless you and your children

    It's one thing to provide a stimulating environment for the baby, but quite another to push a baby with the intention of turning him into a genius! Don't!

    • @SignificantArt
      @SignificantArt  Před 5 lety

      The baby on the video was born gifted, she had colic and slept only a few hours during a 24-hour period. One of the very few things that kept her from crying was intellectual stimulation including: reading, talking, playing cognitive games, flashcards etc. She can work at intellectual tasks for extended period of time, with incredible focus, attention to detail, precision and retention (if quizzed about what she has learned).

    • @SignificantArt
      @SignificantArt  Před 5 lety +1

      Most children will not enjoy prolonged reading, will turn the page, take away the book, cry or do something else, the baby on the video enjoys cognitively stimulating activities, not every baby has comparable temperament.

      She did also, lot's of praise and laughter (social reinforcement) helped her focus on the activities, children love social reward. However every child is different and special in his/her own way. My Son, for instance, is very independent, is content to play by himself, is more interested in physical activities than in flashcards, and has a shorter attention span.

      @SignificantArt  Před 5 lety

      It depends on the baby and the caregiver. Some children crave positive and direct interaction, they are like sponges who absorb learning. If a caregiver is unable to spend much time teaching a baby it may be beneficial to take the child to a children's museum (they have infant areas), or sign the baby up for classes such as: parent-baby fitness, music, art, sensory development, baby group, etc. I wish you all the best.

    • @SignificantArt
      @SignificantArt  Před 5 lety

      Also local libraries, park districts, children's stores, zoos, conservatories, botanic gardens and other recreational attractions offer classes for infants, children, teens, adults and seniors. Most of these classes will be FREE of charge.

      Knowledge will pass away, but a strong religious foundation will provide the child with hope and a future, even if she receives a bad grade and even when bad things will happen in her life she will have love and god who will always be with her. "If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge... ...but do not have love, I am nothing." - 1 Cor 13:2

      Musical instruments and Montessori inspired toys ma be available in the children's section at your local library or at a public park building in a children's play area. You may also find similar toys at second-hand stores, such as EBay or thrift stores or at garage sales. Also, children's museums offer free days and discounted annual admissions, that would allow access to high quality educational materials.
