I myself am from Toronto but lived in Montreal for almost 20yrs. Spotting a Toronto accent/vernacular isn’t the easiest because of the diversity, but I can detect a Montrealer from mikes away (so I get what you’re saying about Vancouver being distinct).
By the way, I just moved to Chilliwack last October, so we’re neighbours!
