How to hit more forehand winners

- Carlos Alcaraz hits a lot of forehand winners, obviously. Sure, he's got a great forehand, but he's also got great plays in his playbook that set up "easy" forehand winners. The kind where you don't have to go for too much, because if you're having a bad day, that's going to lead to a lot of errors.

You need to be a 5.0+ player to execute this consistently. The inside out fh is hard enough, but to hit it at a sharp angle to drive your opponent off the court is next level.
Lol well you have to consider that a left-handed player is trying to teach you right-handed tactics. How about to tell you the truth once you upgrade to a forehand all you really need to do is hit a moon ball to back a lower level player off the baseline
I got the playbook, but sometimes your video explainations here make it way easier to understand 😊
Thanks for the feedback - is there anything in particular that's clearer?
@@fuzzyyellowballs for me, the video example of actual game footage is very helpful. If the book could also give the “purpose” of each shot, that would be helpful as well. (I know the video covers that, but if I’m scanning the book as a refresher, I might not remember right away). For example, part 1 of this 2-1 play is to hit a forehand to push the opponent back off the baseline, but if the shot is short you will need to repeat a deep “push back” shot. Also, I like the newer tv board vs the magnetic board.
great lesson...more of it
This is absolutely awesome- it just leaves me longing for some equivalent tactics for lefty players, I find it hard to have to convert all this great stuff to make it more relevant to me.
Thanks! As luck would have it, I just filmed a lefty-specific video yesterday. Stay tuned :)
Good tactic but if your opponent is good they can go down the line on your angled shot since it would be easier to do. I've seen this done before and usually you have to hit a running forehand up the middle which loses the advantage.
Yep, angled shots can be double-edge swords, especially in singles.
Well, everybody will struggle against good players, that is why they are called "good players".
And every strategy needs adequate shots to be realized.
But without a strategy it is just a mexican standoff.
So having one is already an advantage.
Besides: a longline shot from outside the court is not that dangerous - and has a high probability to fail.
Yeah dude, you're supposed to angle the person off the court AFTER you back them up with your big forehand. If you don't set it up like that then yes you are in way more trouble
Also if your opponent is good and they go down the line off of that shot then you should be able to hook the Cross court banana shot. If you're good enough to hit it inside out forehand angle then you should be good enough to hit a running Cross court spinning shot too 🤨. "Well actually"
How to get the copy
Yo! You can get it here - bit.ly/3OxxQut
Any tips for the other guy? How to get out?
Offensive option. You take the ball on the rise when they try to back you up. If his spin isn't that good then you can redirect the ball down the line. This is where legendary backhands are made. If you're shot is short he might grab another angle cross court so make it deep. defensive you bust a heavy topspin moon ball crosscourt. If the ball gets high enough over his shoulder then he probably won't be able to find the angle very effectively. If he backs up off the baseline from your moon ball then you can totally hit him with the same tactic. I hope you really wanted an answer to that question.
It seems your backhand is not good enough yet Casper 😢😅
Caspar would probably be backed up off the line already. His backhand isn't very good because his backhand is made for taking balls on the rise and his forehand is made for hitting shots while they drop. Since he wants to option the forehand more, he will most likely back up. Puts his backhand at a disadvantage technically
This is so dumb as its so dependent on execution. Anyone who can execute like those guys in the clips don't need instructions like this.
Then just moon ball it back and don’t work on getting better.
