Confusion arose from the alternative title 'Waly Waly', there being a Scottish song of the latter title, which has lyrics set by Robert Burns (Scottish Musical Museum No. 158). However, the Somerset song became more popular, even in Scottish schools. Benjamin Britten made a beautiful arrangement for solo voice and piano.
