I would define this more as a "wellness wearable". Very cool. It would be even more cool if it can be programmed to contact an emergency number if it takes a really bad reading and to avoid false calls, I assume it will have it's triple measure option.

My guess is they're still trying to work out FDA approval. Not all wrist BP monitors have the same accuracy as upper arm monitors. From other sources I have seen that it's a bit of a challenge to test this type of device adequately for approval. Omron never released the first device they had promised. Then they announced 2.0 which is a much more attractive looking watch. But no sign they've gotten it to work for FDA purposes or with the accuracy that is typical of Omron (best monitors on the market according to my doctor). If this every comes out it will be great, but I'm not holding my breath.
i will buy one, if omron add settings that it wl take automatically blood pressure check every 15 mins ore more. i was pass out yesterday noon for few seconds while driving in the freeway. luckily no car accident happened. i dont have any signs of highblood on that time. i was wondering that maybe im having low sugar, since i dont have monitor for sugar i check my BP and booooom 233/115. hope they can do settings that check automatically so the user of this gadget is aware of the abnormalities, and they can take meds asap..
But Helo is not a medical device, nor does it have any form of medical approval - Why would any sane person trust it with their cardiac health!? hahaha

So that's why Omron is an expensive toy. FYI over 70% of people are getting anxious when they measure the BP. That's why the doctor's office BP monitors are not accurate, and that's why they put you on 24 hours monitor device. There is a way to create the accurate reading device. Sort of like smartwatch and heart rate monitor, that keeps reading through the entire day, and gives the average.
Claims it was going to release at $300 and ends up being $500 upon release. Hopefully the public shuts it down until they wisen up and drop the price so that it is more affordable. It is way overpriced at $500.
After 1 year still no signs of being commercial available. Meanwhile watches or wristbands for watches with EKG monitor are available. Omron will be blown away by other companies if it doesn't keep it up with new technologies.
They have been working on it for quite a while, true. To be fair, Omron has a reputation to lose if these devices dont work accurately AND other companies promising a correct ECG readout by an armwrist watch are short of being criminal IMHO. There is just no way (possibly yet or never) to give a correct ECG with one electrode ON YOUR ARM. Even the most basic ECG done at your GP or in an emergency setting need 2-3 Electrodes across your thorax. And those devices are much bigger and expensive. Also, if you only want an ECG once, fine. But if you expect it from a wearable/arm wrist device, the use case obviously is a continous or repeated use. That's something, that certainly is not easy, small or cheap- or real at this point.

What is the minimum pressure values that it can measure accurately? Can it measure 60 mmHg for example?
Does it read when you are not aware? Because people with anxieties would have the same issue like with ordinary BP.
