I happened upon this clip. I saw the movie Rock Star years ago and understood Mark Walbergs part. I was young once and saw the Beatles for the first time on Ed Sullivan and at that moment I knew I wanted to be just like them, a rock star. Got into a band and devoted all my time and energy into becoming a rock star did not even attempt to do well in school just play the drum and chase my dream of becoming a rock star. Played all through high school and into college dreaming of nothing but becoming a rock star. Then life happened I got drafted into the Army, got married, had four children and now have seven grandchildren , sometimes you are supposed to live the life you live. Just like Walberg in the movie Rock Star, he realized that being the rock star he dreamed of being was not what he really wanted after living it. If there were a magic Jeannie in a bottle suddenly granting my wish to be a rock star, I would not change a minute of the life I have lived. No rock star life could compare to the life I have had.
Funny how we all wish for something while we are young and then little to big changes happen during our journey. People we meet, people we create and experiences we have.....wouldnt change a thing I've never been happier. You nailed it my friend and as for you, keep pounding those drums and Rock on.😎😎😎
Mili Matijevic is the voice behind Mark Wahlberg's character Chris "Izzy" Coles. Jeff Soto did the vocals for Jason Flemyng's character Bobby Beers, the guy Chris replaced. This was a GREAT movie!!!
Mike Matijevic and Myles Kennedy who wouldn't love to see a duet with those voices?? And Kennedy doesn't even do alot of screaming on his albums and listen to that!!!!!!!!
It's kind of funny to go back and watch this knowing this film came out just a couple of years before Alter Bridge debuted. And Myles is a great vocalist. I grew up as a huge Creed fan and was disheartened when they broke up. They were actually the band that got me into hard rock music. But when I first heard the song "Open Your Eyes" by Alter Bridge, I was glad to see another great band come about.
No the guy that gets the mic is Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge. The guy Wahlberg is lip synching over is Mike Matjivic (I know I spelled that wrong) from an old 80's band called Steelheart.
This is one of my most favorite scenes altogether. Not only is the song killer, it's the sense of dread that it starts with and the feelings of relief and freedom that it ends with. But, it is like spreading a virus when he hands it off to the kid. I'm not a Mark Wahlberg fan but, I always enjoy his movies. This and Invincible are must watch entertainment.
I love this song, and this part of the movie, but one thing that strikes me is how Izzy/Chris (Mark Whalberg) manages to hear Thor (Myles Kennedy) so easily in the crowd at an 80's concert.. Fans just simply weren't that quiet!
to this day still gives me chills the moment he said "im gonna take a piss" as earlier in the movie the roadie did say his story how he just up and left his old life etc etc the moment/reaction he had when he heard him say "im gonna take a piss" is quite powerful
@@cameronhubbard415 it wasnt a curse. It was also an experience. A gift. There are trials and tribulations. Cant have the good without the bad. It's all a matter of perspective
This scene is crucial for Mark Wahlberg's character. In the beginning, Bobby is somewhat agitated by Chris' singing in the intro of STAND UP, but in this scene Chris is intrigued by Thor's singing n invites him on stage, this way he can escape n find himself musically.
I love this movie, have it on dvd, myles kennedy is in alter bridge now, have both cds they rock! Zakk wylde played his part perfectly, a beer drinkin madman on the guitar
Awesome movie and time to be alive and j was in the 1980s nothing comes close today 2022. We was free, hopeless, out of control, and honest,to do what we wanted to do without hurting anybody.man I wish I could go back and stay for a while. I guess we have to grow up sometime. I miss those days everyday.later memory goes on but never stops for you. Maybe I the next life we will have something similar I hope.
the MAJORITY wants their ROCK BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WE ARE TIRED OF THE SHIT THE SO CALLED MUSIC INDUSTRY IS SHOVING DOWN OUR THROAT........
Why is there so much debate of who sang what? Michael Matijevic provided the singing voice for Mark Wahlberg. Jeff Scott Soto provided the singing voice for the Bobby Beers role and Myles Kennedy provided the voice of "Thor". To see more Myles Kennedy check out "The Mayfield Four" and "Alter Bridge".
I mean I takes me back to the beginning of the movie. When the singer tells him to live his own life, write his owns songs. The moment he saw the kid, he knew he was never going to be original. He knew he could always be replaced.
Probably the best scene of the movie, he finally finds himself.
Literally… lol
I like how he uses his im gonna go take a piss line and he immediately catches it like I understand
A perfect example of be careful of what you wish for.
The industry
Boy is that the truth
How bout you
I’ll take a healthy dose of it.
I wish for Brandi.
One of the most epic lines in a movie ......... " I'm gonna go take a piss"........... lol

The best fake band ever!!
hooooo Zakk the best guitar player.

@@anitahorvatirl The Steel Dragon songs were about half and half between Mili & Jeff Scott Soto.

No mater who composed, who played the singer, who played Thor....ZAKK FUCKING WYLDE IS ON THE STAGE
And Thor is just...freaking awesome Miles Kennedy...!!
@@jadavanzant9938 Not to mention that Jason actually played for Led Zeppelin.

Reminds me of that John Lennon quote : Life is whats happening while we're busy making other plans.
Yes sir. Congrats an winning at the game of life 🧬
Beautiful. Old guy
"What's your name Bro?"
"Myles Kennedy"
The only “actor” who did his own vocals. Myles is so awesome. Funny how few know that’s actually him.
Myles Kennedy is a musician, lead singer for alter bridge
Mark use to be a musician as well before he went to acting.
@@20TheGame09 yes he did he was a rapper
❤ he’s the best
You know the band is good when they have Myles Kennedy as a fan in thw crowd. LOL one of best rock n roll movies ever!

This is right up there with Spinal Tap when it comes to an ACCURATE portrayal of being in a band. I LOVE this movie!
Omg Myles Kennedy was like "Me?" and go all puffy over the crowd...gotta love that scene.
Myles was the only actor to do his own vocals, boss
I love this movie. The scene where he tells max hes got to piss was one of the best ending lines in a scene ever in my opinion.
Fun Fact: Miles Kennedy is actually singing live he's the only one who actually sang in the movie everyone else had other great artists do the vocals
Kennedy is fuckin amazing
So Myles Kennedy is my favorite vocalist. I’ve seen this movie a shit ton of times. And because of your comment I now know it’s him. Fucking amazing
It's kind of funny to go back and watch this knowing this film came out just a couple of years before Alter Bridge debuted. And Myles is a great vocalist. this movie was so awesome and had the best soundtrack ever
ROCKSTAR - Best overall soundtrack ever . Every song rocks

Still can't believe that's Myles Kennedy, now he is awesome! What a voice, can not wait to see him live :)
Saw him last year with alter bridge. Awesome live.
Well we saw him with Slash and he ended up being a failure, sad.
Saw him with Alter Bridge. He was awesome
And he beat out Ralph Saenz (aka Michael Starr for the gig)
