Purchased one years ago and really like it. I added a single shot magazine that stays in it. I’m 71 but l like the iron sights over a scope, I did add a polymer bright orange front sight. Savage makes excellent firearms .
I have the same rifle in all Camo, model 93 Predator 22 win mag...with a Vortex Diamondback 3x9. I also have the A22m semi auto from Savage, same scope setup. Love them both for close in coyotes and cats, deadly and fairly quiet. Very accurate and dependable both of them.
I have a 93R17, I forget the other initials, but its got a wood stock and heavy barrel. The bolt is horrible but it's getting better. The "blueing " is more like flat black paint that savage doesn't know how to apply and covered too much of the bolt and inside of the chamber. Nothing that couldn't be fixed with some ring alignment polish and working the bolt back and forth????times. Contrary to most reviews, I don't care for the acutrigger. Other than that I really like the rifle. It's really accurate. Just would have preferred I didn't have to work it over so much. Oh and I also had to bed the receiver to get it as accurate as it is.
Seriously I had problems with feeding on this mod. I find the Extra Mags To be flimsy as well. If they built the Clips better I would Love Everything about it. They bend open at top & then they fly out as you bolt it. I Grew up around 22 Mag & Love this Round. I prefer it over all 17's . Here in the South as you are in the Woods most shots are under 100. More often 40 -60 YRDS. So ! I prefer it because less likely to deflect from a blade of grass ' twigs' ect. Mass Matters
savage also has a A22 with a rotary magazine if you do not like the one on the 93f I just got a 93 F and the first 5 rounds could be completely covered by a dime. Shooting from 30 yd to sight in the scope it is a 1.5- 6 X 32 Huntshield Northern elite HD series. This scope is so clear and the price was wright. I like the 5 round Magazine for this rifle, as I shoot 5 round groups for sighting in , and for hunting it is more than enough and I just carry a spare. Did not see any stainless ones hear in PEI . I got some federal .22 win mag 50 grain JHP in bulk, so mite try some target shooting with it. But got it mostly for varmint control as you can only use rime fire for foxes hear on the island. Good video.
Wait, shooting gophers ? Ha Ha, I used to do the same decades ago when I lived in the country. The manky little gits would dig up my yard and the funnest way to "remove" them was to wait till they popped their head up and POW. Good times my friend ! Thanks for the review, very much enjoyed.
I put a 93 btvss savage bolt action rifle in a synthetic gun stock 93r I also put a barrell resantor and my scope is 6x24x50 Bushnell it a real tac driver shoots very well
Watched your video again and man you sure cut up that mag, I have a A22 with the rotary mag I do like them but, do find the straight mag a lot easer and quicker to load, and much easer when you have cold hands. So there ups and downs with bough. Cold hear to day so glad I have the straight mags, as with cold fingers can still easily load them. I am looking in to getting a 93FVSS .22 WMR or a B22 magnum FVSS WMR like the mags for the 93 but the stock on the B22 looks like it might be better for a scope.
I would like to know why all 22 rifles and all brand ammo for 22 caliber LR were deadly accurate that was made in the 40s 50s 60 s an 70s . !! FACTS IN THE 50S AND 60s i would use single shot 22 rifle an pistols with iron sights and my grandpa an all loved watchong accuracy with rifles an handguns i had never shot before. But now the excuses are different ammo for particular rifle . Wrong if your rifle you could hit s match at 30 yds. Anyone could go buy the ammo mix it all together still hit the matches. I know of a couple of older rifles still that accurate ?? Whu not make things of quality anymore
UPDATE: I did just get the rifle, and i got a couple of 10-round mags to go along with the 5-rounder that came with it. My only complaint is the plastic trigger guard.
You explained the sight adjustment wrong. When it's lower you shoot farther and when it's higher you shoot closer. I do wish savage would at least make the plastic stock solid instead of being hallow, that would make a big difference, like other manufacturers.
Have you had the chance to try out the 'newer' series B rifles from Savage yet Adriel ? I've been trying to buy one and can't seem to locate any in stock anywhere., These, I understand have been out for awhile now, yet not showing up on the on-line dealers here in Canada, I wonder why?

this is the old model now ,the safety is in a better place and the mag has changed .great guns ..
I just bought a new one, and the safety is exactly like on the gun in the video.
Mine has feeding issues with the first round out of the 5 shot clip. Any info for fixing would be appreciated. Great accuracy though

Do you need a rail to put a scope on this rifle?

knows how to get the barrel out of the savahe 93 22 magnum
Use the Weaver bases and Leupold Rifleman mounts. Inexpensive, solid and light weight...
Very interesting. I am seriously considering getting one of these rifles, but with a wooden stock.

No. When the rear sight is higher up on the bar you have to angle to barrel up to align it with the front sight, and the bullet will go farther.

Yes and the sad part is now that Wholesale Sports has now closed it's doors and out of business.
Now where ?
no one likes the mag post but me i guess it works reliable and hard to break
I cant disasseble the bolt action, needed for cleaning. Any help here?
