  • It’s said that the music of WKRP was the 9th unseen regular cast member.
When the licensing expired for the songs, WKRP all but disappeared from the airwaves (remember those?).
In May 2014, Shout! Factory acquired rights to the series for DVD release. They had planned to restore all of the copyrighted music that originally aired on the show, but were only able to obtain rights for 111 of the original music artist, about 85%

Love how he always pronounced "babies" as "Bay-buz". Johnny was my hero. Lived his life and job on his own terms and didn't give a DAMN about rules or societal expectations. That show was perfectly cast. Johnny the lazy stoner DJ, Venus the hip cool cat, Jennifer the stereotypical dumb blonde who was smarter than anyone ever had an inkling and had the world by the tail, Bailey who was the subtle unrecognized babe who never got what she was seeking in her career, Herb the absolutely useless promotion guy, Mr. Carlson the inept general manager who essentially let Jennifer run things for him, Les the clueless news and hog market guy who thought their audience was on the edge of their seats for his hog futures reports, Andy who had grand plans but could never rope his staff into compliance, and Mrs. Carlson the station owner who looked and behaved much like Cruella Deville and wielded far less power than she believed she had. And who knew - Herb's wife was played by none other than Edie McClurg!

I'm 52, diagnosed with Colon Ca in 2006, 36 was young to get it but I had ulcerative colitis since early 20's so that was probably the cause. Diagnosed as as stage 2 T4N0M0 two surgies, 8mths of chemo, but I'm still around 16yrs later. Initially had an illeostomy, but went with the internal Jpouch about 2 yrs later. I know It's tough time, and every individual case is different, but hopefully you can use my example as a some inspiration. Hang in there, listen to your oncologists, and take the help friends & family offer. I won't BS you and say it's going to fun or easy, but 16yrs from now you can look back like me and say "Hey, it sucked at the time, but I'm still around, and the experience just made stronger"

@@echoecho3108 hello and good Sunday morning who ever you are? Let me introduce myself I'm Peter from Hamilton Ontario Canada and to explain I was what the doctors called a blue baby I was born with a whole in my heart back on July 15 1972 in Toronto Ontario Canada which is about an hour east of Hamilton, had open heart surgery when I was 4 years old at sick kids hospital in Toronto and grew up fine until April of 2006 got a blood clot which caused a stroke on my left side of my body went through 3 months of rehab to learn to walk talk and take care of myself and then on September first of 2008 I didn't wake up that morning had a cardiac arrest (similar to a heart attack) which I was saved by both my cat Nemo and my then wife Angy got to Toronto general hospital in time put into induced 2 day coma eventough I was pronounced clinical dead when I arrived there, had open heart surgery again and they put a defibulator in my chest and came back home about 5 weeks later. Nemo won a Medel for saving my life a year later at a place called paws ways and Angy decided to leave our marriage at the end of 2009. But I moved to Hamilton 2 years later which I'm renting a one bedroom apartment here from my uncle Angelo who owns the property. But with doctor Johnny fever's character that Howard hedsman played so well. Apparently he was only supposed to be on the first show the pilot where he says booger LoL
