The point of the Ursa is to add a T3 bed to any ship it fits in
knowing it fits in my corsair... well, that is a very happy realization. Also knowing that they will make ALL med beds able to rez in, well i think you can figure it out.
The point of Ursa T3 is make sales before a massive Nerf as with everything CIG do.
Driving physics would be nice, but don't forget to include adjustable throttles for ground vehicles. There's no reason why the ground vehicles are either full throttle or no throttle.
I always thought this was weird. Gravlev does have adjustable throttle but not the wheeled vehicles. Sometimes makes parking a wheeled vehicle inside a crampy ship much harder than it needs to be, cause it's all or nothing on the throttle.
isnt that just because people are driving with W and S? Would it not throttle if you used a controller or HOTAS?
i think flying around in a tiny argo at a station and loading up a large cargo ship could be fun. relaxing, slow.
a bit like powerwash simulator, so pretty much the hull stripping thing except with more movement between elevator and cargo ships attachment points

Firebird feels like just another Talon Shrike. I do see a couple uses for the URSA Medivac but they are very situational: 1. Getting a T3 bed inside distribution centers. And 2. Getting T3 beds into certain ships the Med Pisces can’t fit in.
Now you can buy a more expensive Talon Shrike with the looks of a Raven, that's worse than the Shrike in almost every aspect.
Once upon a time, at least the creativity of ship designs was a strong point of CIG. Now it kinda feels like they are just kitbashing.

Let's hope that "the ideal medium fighter for any arsenal for swift and decisive offensive" works out better than the lighter footprint one of the standard variant. That Argo-T is apparently on some test server already, I saw a video of someone giving it a spin.
The Nursa is kinda cool tbh. As broken and miserable as driving is I'll buy one with in-game money just to park in a ship and look at occasionally.

Man, why doesn't CIG just balance and bring the old ships up to standard / the modularity they supposed to have instead of adding useless cashgrabs :(
@yourfavoritecrafter It almost seems like CIG is in dire need of cash. Maybe Chris woke up one day and realized he still has nothing and his Citizencon fairy tales only can get him so far. We had 7 sales events already in 2024.
Year 12, still only a tech demo with missing basics, missing basic mechanics, not even some very basic physics and console mode, aka MM.
Retailator gold standard is in PTU 3.23.1 - modules are working.

STYLE
NURSA is nice. Firebird allows people who like the raven shape to get one. I like that they used the Raven to show off the paints for the firebird. Not sure how this is a "medium" fighters with 2x s3 and 12x s3 missiles. Shrike has s4 mounts and 24x s3 missiles.
@Power5 Talon has 2 s4 gun mounts, Talon Shrike has 2 size 2 gun mounts and 24 size 3 missiles.
Of course no one has figured out yet where the Talon Shrike stores the 24 size 3 missiles, inflatable missiles? :)
So, it’s a Talon Shrike with half the missiles. The only way to salvage this thing is to give it a Cutlass Blue style quantum dampener, or maybe a single extra size 3 gun.
I am excited for the medical Ursa solely because I can carry it around in a Corsair or Connie and have the medbed on hand.
Exactly my thought. I bunker run a lot, and with the upgraded bunker turrets my C8R is usually useless (dead before you know it, esp with desync) - so a connie is better to park upfront (can tank and out DPS the turrets) but now you still get a bed to heal if needed. Handy! At least wheeled ground vehicles i can still live with how they drive. My friend convinced me to buy the pulse and my god; i wanted to refund that after 30 mins of playing around with it. Absolute garbage. I slowly drove it up the ramp of a nomad (set the speed limiter down) and just BLEW UP. Then blew up randomly 2 other times. no basic/action animation to place the bike upright since it kept falling sideways after turning the engine off. So frustrating. So the pulse will be upgraded to the nursa the second i can. F gravlev vehicles !

Because they don't make more money that way. And they also inflate the number of "ships" their game has. How many ship variants should have been modules instead?
@@tafferinthedark The original Cutlass design was to be modular actually. They realized that the were so far off and then made variants. Black, Blue,Red, Steel (lol)
I highly doubt now that modularity is a thing that they will go back and give everybody a modular cutty with a module of their type (i.e med for red etc.) - cause as you say, this way it makes CIG more money.
I honestly don't know why "modularity" took as long as it did. Functionally speaking for the game, it's literally a different variant / model you pull up.
Because it's not like we can real-time swap the modules with a tractor beam. Or it's not like you see automated hanger systems pull out module A and place in Module B. If it was that, then yes i can see some technical hurdle. But since it isn't ? It's weird. I guess from the ground up they must've realized non-modularity sells more ?
@@NL0Gwenster CIG going down the path of making more variants for years rather than modules cause it made them more bank was one reason why it took them so long,
but also I would claim cause they didn't have a clue how to work modularity into their convoluted mess of a gameengine where apparently so many things are co-dependant on oneanother that when some new thing is introduced it magically seems to break stuff in another discipline.

What happened to the actual Sabre being a strong medium fighter, and stealth? What happened to Sabre Raven exclusivity? Why does the ln Raven still have 2 months insurance/worst in the game?

LOL Sabre is a POS for at least 4 major patches by now. Only that is working is their marketing speech.
1. the sabre is still a very strong ship. 2. the raven is still exclusive. this is jsut a variant of it. and 3.insurance is meaningless.
the medical ursa just exists as a way to put a medbay in ships that can have an ursa in them.
I really thought the new raven would be qed. missiles seems like an odd choice.
The Cargo Argo is neat...but I can't imagine it ever being used with the way this game and playerbase is shifting. Maybe we'll see off-label uses if we ever get big hollow cargo containers or we can snap other things to the cargo grids but lately CIG seems to be fun-policing all the best aspects of sandbox gameplay so I wont get my hopes up. The fixed tractor on the cockpit feels goofy imo.
I wish all the good folks never left CIG :( there's no creativity anymore.

who knows what they are capable of.
we'll probably end up with something like vehicles can only drive in drive mode which will sacrifice a player who needs to sit in the passenger by flinging them into the sun.

I believe that they are forced to come up with variants because they are cheap and easy to create. The return may be much higher than new concepts.

The firebird is such a let down for me. Was hyped we get a new AEGIS ship and hoped it had QED and QD instead of EMP which would make it really cool but 12 size 3 missiles? That's not worth it. Especially if we look at the other new shiny medium fighter F7A MK2 and compare their firepower

Someone on EPTU has tested these vehicles and posted videos. The "Nursa" disappointed me with its wasted shelf space and empty fridges. The C8R, on the other hand, provides free medpens and drinks each time it's spawned. While the Nursa lacks immediate utility, it could serve as a healing station after a bunker run when stored inside a compatible ship. Despite my affection for the C8R, recent desync issues hinder my ability to navigate upgraded bunkers effectively. Usually I'm dead cause of turret desync (they have shot me before it was happening on my screen when trying to land close) - and wow, why would anybody buy the firebird if the Hornet MK II exists?
they should have called it the phoenix. Sounds way better.

And according to Yogi missiles might get nerfed hard, like limiting their speed because when they work they kill too quickly in console mode, aka MM.
No one is really using a Talon Shrike, I wonder why, so why would anyone use a Firebird atm?

@@Camural exactly, and it wont get used, but I dont think they care, it was a easy reskin + refit, that are able to be sold quickly without too much work, its becoming a joke at this point.

I'm starting to wonder if CIG's marketing people need supplemental oxygen when they talk about their fluff for -shit- ships/vehicles they're trying to sell; the lines have become so over the top and breathless-sounding I worry they'll pass out reading them out loud.

Medium fighters haven't been in a good place for a long time, now, and "master modes" doesn't seem to have changed that. And this cringy marketing BS would sound silly even if medium fighters were totally meta.
It's pretty clear their marketing team either doesn't know about the state of the game, doesn't care about it, or both.

Not sure if anyone cares about Sabre Raven EMP capabilities. I think most people just like its unique design. So if you can buy the same design, but without EMP - why not?

That one psychopath on the Spectrum just made a big post gloating and insulting Medical players, literally calling them "worthless" and Zac comes along and pats him on the back for it. All these posts lately pushing back against the new direction, begging CIG to go back to the pitch, all ignored but this is the kind of stuff they reply to.
@mabs9503 Star Citizen has way too many boring time sinks as it is and it will get worse with perma death, personal hygiene, toilet game play and having to move each item one by one.
Cutlass Red had the ability to re-spawn in her med beds until CIG took it away a while ago.

We need flight mechanics too…. Currently They are laughable at best…
I doubt we will ever see a properly working and fun ground vehicle physics because CR has the tendency to fire the only incredibly talented people with a deep understanding of physics and drive models because of the stupidest reasons like not wanting them to work remotely from home or trying to force them to relocate to a different continent or even just a slightly different timezone. Jak (and dexter) 3 had a better ground- and ironically even gravlev model and thats a 2004 ps2 game.

Why would you send a wheeled ambulance when flying ambulances exist?! Lol. The flying ambulance has effectively no cost and is infinitely faster.
Assuming you have to land far away from a turret covered site, this would be benificial. Also basically gives the MSR a T3 bed.
@@migtin688 I'm talking diagetically. The fact that turrets don't fire upon ground vehicles is essentially magic at this point. Maybe it will make more sense in the future with weather, radar signatures, etc.
I think of it more like a module. Now my Phoenix can have a T3 medical bed.

Wow that firebird is another very low effort money making scheme from CIG. Do a required Raven "gold" standard update, clone the ship and do a few minor changes. $$$ warbond money please! Plus 2x S3 like the Raven? Useless now everything punches above..

You should do a video on how they used to let you change weapons, but now you need to buy a different version. The new bike is $25 USD for the one with a gun, and $25 for the one without a gun, rather than just selling one bike and letting you remove the gun??? 🤣🤣🤣
