We used to talk every Sunday evening for about an hour and a half for over 20 years on the phone. One of the highlights of our conversation was what we were having for dinner. Miss Peggy's cooking reminds me of "Mom's". When I got out on my own and started cooking more at home as opposed to eating from fast-food restaurants often, I started cooking things I remember Mom making. She got a chance to taste my versions, and liked my fried chicken and yellow rice, to name a couple things. We also learned how to cook callaloo together. I wish she was still here to continue sharing and eating my cooking.

I love cabbage cooked like you did it I like to add a large onion cut into big Pieces or maybe 2 large onions... Now that is eating and the pork roast and Ox tail..... Saturday a week ago I had country style pork ribs in a glaze of soy sauce, duck sauce, and apple jelly. Made some Knorr Spanish rice and a can of corn to go with them. Yesterday I went to the new location of my favorite Jamaican eatery and grocery for lunch. I got my usual white meat jerk chicken with extra sauce, macaroni and cheese, and cabbage-and- carrots. Added a ginger beer to drink. That meal cost me $16.55, but I got lunch and dinner yesterday, lunch today, and there is STILL some left!
