    I am with you whoiscathy. I own one and love it and those corner seams are over 3" in the air and covered by the outer tent. I do not believe one of his other posted stories about how the vendor he returned it to got all of the other Hillebergs out and poured water in them and then got all of the other tent manufacturer tents out and poured water in them. He is full of it!

    Do you have any ideas of the approximate wind speed?

      @bibentivan6418  Před 3 lety +1

      I would guess about 13-15m/s However I know for sure it takes a lot more.

      @@bibentivan6418 Thank you for the quick reply. I'm thinking about getting a Staika myself but wind stability was a concern of mine.

    Having just bought a Hilleberg Staika for £850 I noticed that my bathtub floor corner seams were not sealed so i poured in some water and guess what it can straight out through the seams - when I looked closely I could even see daylight through some stitch holes.
    I sent an email to Hilleberg about it and got the reply "yes we know they leak but can send you some seam sealant to use" - I was staggered that possibly the most expensive tent in the world had such a major design fault and it had not been fixed by the manufacture. Needless to say I fired of a reply saying the same but never got a reply so I took the tent back to the shop and got my money back. While there we checked all the other Hilleberg models in the shop and they all leaked - the other makes of tent we checked all had fully taped seams and none of them leaked.
    Ive since emailed the MD of the company but to dat have not had a reply - very very poor customer service

      I'm seriously sick of this post in EVERY single forum, every single video, every single everything that's about the Staika. I've seen you comment about 25 times today. Congratulations.

      whoiscathy Thank you - that was my aim. If the tent was any good I would have posted positive comments which I assume you would not be complaining about. I assume you have one and can tell everyone how good they are?

      +Mal Stubbs I guess you submarine, err I mean tent was not what you expected. However can you explain at what point this would even matter? Are you using it for a swimming pool? I mean the tent floor is waterproof. If your submerged in 4 inches of water with the tent your doing something wrong. Part of camping is being smart enough to pitch the tent on the bank of the river, not in it. If your looking for possible problems with the tent I can fully understand that. I noticed a big gaping hole in both sides of the tent that are only sealed by zippers. This would never work in two feet of water.

      I have used the Staika for 20 years (the same one) in winter and summer in trips with up to 2 weeks full autonomy (no contact with civilization). Rainy summers and winter skiing in -25C. It has allways done a great job and I will by Staika again if this one ever wears old.
