Yeah well, They kinda got lost there for a while I think, they were still good songwriters but that alternative rock/metal sound of some of their records I could have done without. I'm glad that they've returned to a more metal sound over the last couple of records. Cheers! 🤘

They played at the Mason Jar all the time back then. The parties at the garage/studios back in the late 90s where they practiced were awesome.

I looked into buying "No Place For Disgrace", but all I can seem to find is the re-recorded issue. I'll have to look harder to find those first three albums with their original recordings. Don't have a ranking as I don't own all of their albums, but just like alot of the bands in my collection, my first is usually my favorite. In F&J, for me it's Cuatro. I love the dynamics on it, blending brutal speed and heaviness with the softer, quirkier bits, also kinda cozying up to grunge with a co-write with Chris Cornell (interesting collaboration). Just a great album in my opinion.

"Suffer the masses" will always remind me of those last few years spent going to high school way waaaaaaaaay back in the day, lol. Listening to that song gives me a nostalgic vibe every time, it was the end of a truly incredible era as the 80's were coming to a close. The main riff on that track was so fckn HEAVY and I absolutely loved it... couldn't get enough. You could make it even heavier with the right sound system, listening to that one on a car stereo really brought out the low-end without sacrificing the crisp tones on the other side of the spectrum. We've got different tastes when it comes to mixing falsetto with thrash though, it just doesn't seem to mesh that well for me. It definitely has its place, but I've never cared much for falsetto vocals on a thrash track. That style is best suited for the King himself in my humble opinion... King Diamond will always wear that crown in my mind. Great video brother, keep 'em coming! 🤘🏻☠️🤘🏻

Playing marbles with Yahweh . From the one of the song descriptions of the album When the Storm Comes Down. Even though I am not crazy about When the Storm Comes Down, it remains the only Flotsam and Jetsam that I have ever bought new. I remember that other than Annihilator it was the only album that I have ever seen where not only was a lyric sheet included, but also contained little sections above each song title that sort of gave a history and description to what inspired the songs. I have always had a hard time finding a copy of No Place for Disgrace. Friends would record it for me through the years. Even though overall I would consider both Doomsday For the Deceiver and When the Storm Comes Down to be Heavier than No Place For Disgrace in different ways. I think that NE Terror is definitely not only the Heaviest Flotsam and Jetsam song, but also among the Heaviest songs of all time . It's been years since I've heard When the Storm Comes Down maybe I should listen to it again, I just found a CD of Doomsday For the Deceiver at a Pawn shop last year, it was better than I remember it being. Love Eric AK's Halford style screams , but overall Doomsday is lacking a good mid tempo song. Most of the album is fast and faster

@@RuthlessMetalYT I like the debut a lot, I just don't quite enjoy it as much as No Place for Disgrace. I thought that Flotsam and Jetsam should have been huge on the strength of their first 2 albums. I just wish that they would have continued on the same musical path. Probably my all time favorite Thrash Metal band. I prefer NWOBHM style Traditional Metal, but Flotsam and Jetsam, and the Forbidden debut have enough of those elements to enjoy them as much as Axe Witch, Silver Mountain, Gotham City and Saxon. I haven't heard most of their 90's stuff, but I thought High was ok. Erik AK is awesome and very underrated. I never knew they went back to their thrash sound. I'm going to check out those more recent albums. One thing though......I did not like that re-recording of No Place for Disgrace. I'm not sure what the point of that was. Hey Man, I really like your taste in thrash and I was wondering if you could make a Video about the best Thrash records released after 2000? Maybe a Top 20, or a Top 10 by the Oldschool Bands and a Top 10 by Bands of the new wave of thrash... I mean, there are not many "great" records that come to my mind, M-16 was pretty good, Power Trips "Nightmare Logic" is great and I liked "The Evolution of Chaos" by Heathen.... something along those lines.
And another question, have you heard of Teutonic Thrashers "Pessimist" ? My friend is the guitarist there, good old War-themed teutonic thrash.. Check out the Song "Landsknecht"
