I have the same issue with my Monarch 2- DD drivers in both earphones stopped working. I was wondering where is the bass for the last 2 months, then i checked on the tone generator and there is no response starting from around 40Hz down. Unfortunately the warranty already expired so.. well i feel scummed.
This is why I care not to drop my IEMs because I dropped mine a dozens times because I'm clumsy so the bass driver in mine stopped working good thing i know how to repair IEMs by cutting the shell open replacing the driver then sealing it back up with UV curing resin
No response from 40Hz down might be moisture or some sort of blockage, or possibly even seal or vent related. If the DD were totally gone I'd expect more roll-off than that. I had an OG Monarch with what appeared to be a faulty DD on one side and the roll-off started around 300Hz and was pretty severe from 200Hz down. I've had other hybrids with the same issue, and it affects way above 40Hz, if that was all it affected the DD would be doing virtually nothing.

Why couldnt u just use the Variations with slight eq though ? Atleast until ur Nova unit arrives ?

Something simillar happened to my KZ ZSNs, it was just a matter of cleaning them inside.
I basicly removed the metal grill that happens to be not glued to each of them, removing all the ear wax, and then just placing the grill again, which would stay there without any issue, then they were like new.
I'm not familliar with the TRUTHEAR NOVA ones but if possible, just give it a try and show the results.

@@Sharur1I never liked the Nova, I like my self tuned pr2's into which I have put a lot of work, it's worth it, and Epz 530 I have epz 320 just for strings, chamber quartets, stuff like that. Still have nothing that really does justice to 70s prog rock, if you have any suggestions. Just think Yes, Close to The Edge
but he literally said he is getting the Nova replaced in this video.

and from personal exp i had much better customer service with truthear than moondrop.

The supermix 4 should be better, but i will go for the dita project m, ive had enough of this vocal shit harman tuning. Overture 1812 needs dynamism and shimmer. These harman with bass shelf aint cutting it.

Superlux makes great inexpensive headphones for non audiophiles, with normal ears, they will do everything you need, why pay more?

Come on, you were listening for a good while to your Variations and now they became "unlistenable" without EQ? Furthermore, get either an Android Phone with UAPP or the Qudelix 5K, I didn't really get what the larger, non-mobile version does.
t71 has 8 Vrms output instead of 4 Vrms and feels more premium i guess
@@Sharur1 Ok, and what do you need these 8 Vrms for? Any IEM at home is comfortably driven from the Mac or a dongle and your LCD-5 from the DX3 Pro + or your new SMSL, the Qudelix 5K would make much more sense than the t71, as it measnt for mobile use.

This is why when new IEMs released I'll let people review it first and only buy when 10 or more people say it's good ngl midrange IEMs these days like Hype 4, EM10 Suoermix 4 have sound quality of older flagships like UM MEST MK2 Monarch MK2

Eh, if you've ever heard decent speakers then a good chunk of iems end up just being blatantly unpleasant of an experience
IEM’s where never meant to be used outside of performance, it’s what they were built for, as a way for a player on stage to be able to get more of a grid time lock. These devices are supposed to be reasonably accurate, but moreover intensely low latency frequently in the lower single digit range of milliseconds, mostly incurred by the wireless receiver you’re wearing. These also are supposed to be good at blocking out noise for ear protection, see decibelage of rock drums for reason, but never long term use longevity
