    When it is connected to LAN, does it still need power supply?

      Hi Kamal, if the camera is only connected to a standard network switch or directly to your router then yes it will still need a PSU, but if it is plugged into a PoE switch or Injector then that will provide 'Power over Ethernet' and allow you to run the camera with the single network cable and no power cable.

    Do you have to buy the power adaptor separately? Also, could this be connected to a HikVision NVR to record alongside other cameras?

      Hi, the above model has been replaced by the 2455 5MP Cube camera - www.use-ip.co.uk/hikvision-ds-2cd-2455fwd-iw-cube.html - but as with the above model the 2455 does require you to purchase a 12v power supply separately (if you want to access using WiFi) or a PoE injector if you want to hardwire the camera with an Ethernet connection. The camera can be connected to a Hikvision NVR as long as you have free channels to add the camera too.

    hey ,whats the difference between the 2.8mm and 4.0mm model? thanks

    • @useIP
      @useIP  Před 7 lety

      Hi Anthony, the difference is simply how much the camera is able to see, 2.8mm is a wide focal length (about 90 degree field of view) and 4mm is narrower. Check this page on our forum for examples of what each focal length will look like - forum.use-ip.co.uk/threads/hikvision-focal-length-differences.711/

      use-IP Ltd hey thanks for the reply ,is there also anyway to turn off the power leds?

    • @useIP
      @useIP  Před 7 lety

      Hi again Anthony, I don't know of a way to turn the LED's off, quick search online seems to suggest most people just put tape over them :) I know it's a bit of a rough solution but at least it works

    what is the Android app called for this phone, and can you setup the PIR alerts on the app or must it be done in browser? thx

    • @useIP
      @useIP  Před 6 lety

      Hi, Hikvision uses an app called Hik-Connect and it is available for both Android and iOS, in terms of PIR you may be able to turn on PIR via the app but to set up the alerts and how you would receive them, that has to be done via a browser. I hope that answers your questions
