    One thing I noticed is in Mike's last few fights, he just didn't seem to have the heart anymore. He didn't seem as fast or as dedicated to boxing, he was just kind of going through the motions. If Tyson fought like he always fought in his prime, he'd probably would have retired undefeated. But losing to Lennox Lewis at this stage is nothing to be ashamed of.

      One hundred per cent bro. People talk like Tyson was in his prime or in shape for every fight he lost. The young Tyson was impossible to hit with head movement went from side to side throwing murderous punches in bunches instead of just walking in and getting hit hoping to land one good punch. He sent Buster sliding across the ring with the only good shot he landed. Holyfield was hitting hugging and headbutting and as for Lewis Tyson wasnt the same. The speed and foot work that allowed him to get on the inside was long gone. Id love to see Lewis take Tysons uppercutts the way Tyson took his and kept coming

    Lennox Lewis was a disciple of Manual Stuart, the legendary trainer who taught him how to use his height and reach advantage against shorter opponents. Lewis would keep them at bay with his long jabs, and then clinch them when they got close. This way, he neutralized their speed and power, and wore them down with his weight. Stuart later passed on this strategy to the Klitschko brothers, who dominated the heavyweight division for years. While this strategy is effective for tall fighters, it also makes the fights boring and uneventful, as there is little action or excitement.

    Mike tyson had two true disadvantages in this fight, & it wasn't even his height. It was the fact that he was jabless and slowfooted. Naturally he only fought one way & that's going in and brawling on the body.. No cunning manouvers, just move in and pummel the body. In his downhill years, adding the jab & movement to his arsenal would have given him a little advantage & maybe would have evened up a few of the fights he lost...

    • @badtrekee4348
      @badtrekee4348 Před 10 měsíci +4

      Tyson didnt wanna fight anymore he needed money. Once he fired Rooney cause he lost his spark his training went downhill replaced by women booze and drugs. Young Tyson was almost impossible to hit and superfast throwing murderous punches in bunches. Young Tyson had a Jab Head movement and lightning fast footwork. Everyone Tyson fought was huge compared to him. Tyson was only 5 foot nine and a half and wore two inch heels on his boxing boots to make him look taller.

    • @jessfrankel5212
      @jessfrankel5212 Před 10 měsíci +1

      The other disadvantages Tyson had were that he was older, didn't take his training as seriously as before, and mentally, once he knew he couldn't get through Lewis's defense, he just gave up and plodded ahead, getting tagged with jabs.
      In his early days, Tyson's defense wasn't great, either, but offensively, he was a tank and unstoppable. Time, prison, messing around, and not having someone decent to guide him made him go downhill fast.

    This is the beginning of the end of Tyson's career. Unfortunately, by this time Don King had fed Tyson so many tomato cans rather than legitimate competition that Tyson started to believe his own hype. He started to cut corners and not train as hard as he did in the Cus D'Amato days.He started to believe that he could beat anyone just by showing up to the ring without putting in the hard work. But fighting legitimate competition is different from fighting tomato cans and when ti comes to champions, you cant take any boxing champion lightly. They have the belt for a reason. Mike was looking to stand up and bang in this fight and of course the thinking boxer with the longer reach wasn't going to let that happen. Where's the bobbing and weaving Mike used to do? Where's the ducking low that he used to do followed by the counter in order to neutralize taller guys?

      And he went into the ring against a seasoned pedigree fighter who had an amazing amateur record! Tyson was never a pedigree fighter like Lewis and it showed that night. Lewis had won Pan-American gold, North American gold, Commonwealth gold, Junior World Championships gold, and Olympic gold! His amateur record was 85-9 (with 58 KOs!). Lewis then became the best heavyweight of his generation beating Holyfield (twice, that first decision was beyond bogus!), Briggs, Bruno, Klitschko, Grant, Tua, and Mercer. Also, avenged both his loses as a professional fighter to McCall and Rahman via KOs! In other words, he beat everyone he fought as a professional! Lastly, Lewis was the last UNDISPUTED heavyweight champion the world has had. We haven't seen an undisputed heavyweight champion in over a decade! Sad, but true!

    Vedere il combattimento de grande campione tedesco Tayson prendere tanti pugni
    e non potersi difendere fa un po di dospiacere.Purtroppo,lo; sa bene che gli avversari con le braccia piu' lunghe lo mettono in grande difficoltà.E.V

    Lennox Lewis teaches boxers the jab. He jabs hard or soft with the left hand and then punches harder with the killer right hand. The jab is a deceiver. What follows the jab is the knock out punch, so beware boxers, this technique from Lewis, Floyd May weather and many others works all the time. Adapt it if you are a boxer.

      Evander Hollyfield cheated. The referee ignored this. Hollyfield was hitting Tyson with his head. Tyson gets angry and rips off Hollyfield's ear. If Hollyfield hadn't been involved in match-fixing, Tyson would have knocked him out.
