This was a very helpful video for me learning about my 2012 F800 clutch it look exactly like the M series. Iv got everything apart in the middle of the season because the weights were not letting my clutch disengaging even at lower speeds. My weights are beat up! Think im gonna upgrade to a team clutch if i can. Thank you for the video. Ill be rewatching a couple times

Great video. The only thing I would add is the 6 tower came out in '04, not '05. It also had two flavors; the early "SAE" version was bulletproof; I have over 10k on one, and it's all original (trail sled). They switched to a metric version around '07, and it's just not as good. I'm pretty sure they started manufacturing them overseas as well, which is probably the real reason for the quality, not the fact that it went metric.

Old dealer here. It started with the 9 towers back in the late 90s
I refused to rebuild, other pin bushings and arms. Spiders and sta. Sheave exploding was common. Liability

Well done, very informative! You were at the SSI booth when I stopped there at Hay Days. After you left, I was asking the guy about their ADAPT clutch upgrade kit. He said they have a new milled cover to replace the Cat cast part. I thought that was interesting. Not sure if you saw that, it doesn’t appear to be on their web site.

Yea, I saw it. Clutch covers are all the rage right now. One more thing for the aftermarket to sell. Not sure if there is much benefit other than cool factor.

@@mountainsleddergarage8627 the only downfall is the pricy bolt that’s not available in Canada. We pretty much put the p-85 on our other 3 cats. They just work so much better. Longer belt life and they take the abuse.

Where did you have them machined to fit the cat crankshaft. I took the P-22 off my Polaris boost and put a p-85 on, much better clutch

The arctic cat utv started in 2012 with a wet clutch design. Later it turned to the Team clutch, which was similar, but not exactly like the sled team clutch. Now it uses the Adapt clutch, again very similar, but not exactly like the sled clutch. The sled and utv clutch do not interchange.

Interesting! Since i have a 19 alpha, Will the p85 clutch fit on the 800 ctek2 crank? Same diameter?

    • @mountainsleddergarage8627

No, the P-85 will not bolt on to the cat crank. You can have the P-85 machined to fit. Indy Specialties can machine it.

Im not a fan of the the auto belt deflection. I believe most problems come from to tight of deflection. Belt is to tight causing to much heat.
Never saw the advantage of the team clutches either. I raced cart for 15 years. Pro XC and SX many wins and championships.
Iv owned a lot of race sleds and trail along with my father.
My father had a 2015 XF 6000 with cat clutches. It would spank my 15-17 ZR 6000r XC’s.
My 15 was closest with cat primary and team secondary. My 16 and 17 had all team clutches. My father had 50 pounds on me with heaver sled. Probably a 100 weight disadvantage lol!!
Idk why cat went away with the reverse cam. My opinion is best secondary ever on stock sled.
STM must of thought so because there secondarys r copies of the reverse cam clutch. Just built heavy duty uses all same clutch components as cat reverse cam.
O ya whats up with weight rings on the clutches.
Took one off once but messed up the clutching just didn’t work right. Probably could of re clutched to make work though.
    Anyway cool video good stuff
    Thanks
