The ability of this guy to push gear to its limit is incredible. Whatever thing he gets, you know you're in for a wild ride.
My only conclusion here is I need more than one complex oscillator!

The Mindphaser sounds digital because it's doing thru-0 PM, which is the real operation all those digital "FM" synths are doing. The other 3 are doing real FM, which is next to impossible to do digitally. Great video, as always!
thats not what I meant, it just OVERALL has a digital ish tone, even when thru zero PM is not engaged. I like it for that reason. it reminds me of a Nord Lead. Cheers!

Thank you for putting this together. I’m still pretty new to eurorack and I’ve been trying to decide on just one complex oscillator to add to my rack but I guess the best answer is all of them, in time 😆 I’ll probably get the mind phaser first and then the cs-l. I’m really impressed with the dpo and generator as well.

Its the Mindphaser for me. I really liked the sound. The Cs-L close second. Really good points on the Cs-L with sub and foot print. Now I have to think about it more. They are all cool in their own way. I could have fun with any of them really.

If you a spectrohone you can essentially have a dpi with much more in my opinion….. they are very similar….. the mind phaser is miles above the rest just my opinion…. They all have case uses

Im looking for an analog oscillator to run into my PRO2, which is a great hub/brain for analog CV gear. Do you think any particular complex VCO or something like the Shapeshifter, is best suited for the PRO2?

....But F$%k....$1000 AUD. No way. I'm pulling mine apart and fixing it, even if it takes a day.

They're so hard to find in stock. I ended up going for the Furthrrrr which is based on the exact same Buchla circuit but with a couple added routing and folding functions.

Hi. Very nice demo. I just wanna point one thing regarding your demoing the furtherrrr generator: you didn't touch the cross modulation on the modulator at all. This would have given a wider sound range.

What do you mean the "current version" of dpo? Make noise never added or changed anything over the years since it first released, and all of them are still currently being produced with Vactrols as well. There is no difference internally from the units being produced today, as they were in the beginning.
I was under the impression they don’t use vactrols anymore, stupid me.

It's official. Instruo has the ugliest front panels of all three.
You are doing something wrong OR your dpo is broken? Because on Instruo, Furtherrrr, Mindphaser you produce true and complete wavefolder sweeps from sine to harsh which are beautifully show the capabilities. BUT on dpo you won’t produce such a sweep, only disturbing and chaotic noises. That makes me think the guy is broken, or you don’t do the exact same thing on the dpo, what you did at the other three guys.
Hahaha. So the best complex oscillator is all of them together, hahaha. I love it. I love this fucking channel.
