Great content and energy, really nice paced and to the point, thank you. Having a bit of a challenge with this at the moment, I was using Descript pro, I stopped paying for it and am on the free version and I have pretty long form video podcasts anywhere from 1-2 1/2 hours long.
I was using Descript really just for being able to copy and paste something interesting to the beginning of the video for the intro before the main show and whole interview, also to take out some shorter clips i.e. 1 min-5 min clips for YT to drive to the main video.
I was just about to renew, and I was checking out Opus as well since I just did a big AI training, two actually haha, and that comes up a lot. I'm wondering since I'm using Ecamm to record in, so I have the interview has side by side two shots, and then solo shots, and often in any given clip it goes back and forth, and in the middle of the lower part I have a logo, so not sure if Opus will give me a clean cut and also does it do long videos like these? I saw in your demonstration you had a 15minute time period, not sure if that was standard or you set it that way. Because that would be a game changer, but I see a lot of the bigger influencers use these style of clips and they have super long video podcasts too.
All that to say, trying to figure out if I need Descript still and Opus (if it works, then for short form vertical vids then yes), and what else I could use to edit the intro with the ease of copy and paste like Descript for pulling out an interesting opener $30/month seems like a lot just for that.
I've used Capcut for free too, but have had a lot of issues with it messing up videos and actually losing them with no recovery, so don't feel secure there.
If you have any thoughts, it would be much appreciated on how to have the right stable of tools for the easiest and fastest work flow without having 20 paid subscriptions haha, that would be epic.

I have a new video on my channel to talk about the new beta features that includes longer form content and providing AI to create those short clips for you based on those longer videos that you may use. I’ve used script in the past as well for basic editing but I don’t like the AI workflows for finding good clips, I don’t think they work as good as opus so I definitely take a look at opus for your workflow and let me know what you think. @@NeilFarrimond Thanks Neil, appreciate the quick response, and my pleasure. I did watch the Opus 3.0 video of yours as well, it looks great, even for making shorter landscape videos too not just the shorts, which is a really good upgrade.
My main question that I'm trying to see if Opus can do is if I upload a long video, does it give a transcript like Descript so I can copy and paste a section to the beginning or not?
Truthfully at this point, that's about all I would Use Descript for, although I do like the striking out and moving stuff around and removing the umms and ahhs, I didn't quite catch if Opus has that yet or not? and doesn't seem worth paying $30 for one thing only in Descript.
