- My editor keeps the sound pitch correct in a timelapse so it makes mowing an overgrown yard a real trip to watch! Looks like it's cutting this tall thick grass at 30 mph! This is footage from the first time I mowed my largest yard. Still have it.

We are currently watching this on repeat and unable to concentrate and get anything else done :) Very satisfying.
LOL! Sorry about that. You can't see it, but I did put the word "mesmerizing" in the tags. The algorithm has you hypnotized!
You guys!!! 😆
@Cameron Crazy We'd recommend visiting your local Scag dealer to check in on if there will be year end deals in your area.
you all prolly dont give a damn but does anybody know a tool to log back into an Instagram account..?
I stupidly forgot my account password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me.
@Brodie Nico Instablaster =)
i like this man's videos because he shows mowing! not talking about how you should be mowing. i will keep watching his videos because of this. keep up the real mowing.
This is one of those good ones that I'l be watching again probably every few months
Perfect ratio of lawn mower ,wind and ambient sounds .Damn this is relaxing .
Yet again another first class job 🇬🇧
Thanks!
That is the most cleanes and satisfying mower cut on CZcams,
That cheetah is killing it..
Love it keep it up Mike!
Thank you. I had a very busy day and this video is better than any available sleeping aid.
Nice!
What a difference. Looks really good. ❤
Thanks!
Gotta love these time lapse videos, great work, keep these going!
The last part was the craziest grass planting I've ever seen. I didn't know you could do that!
He he.The tank fills back up with gas when I do that too! :)
Thanks for the all great comments and stay safe and I love your video
Very nice cut.
Ha ha. Except for all those trees and bushes, your video reminded me of the summer I kept the baseball field grass mowed on 3 of our community ball fields! Man o man...I had to have the deck rebuilt on my Kubota BX 2200 belly mower after that!
That's why I don't buy expensive mowers. I already know it'll be messed up within 6 weeks. 😆
I love the time lapse the best
I am realizing that the majority of people like time lapse, but the minority who don't like it are the loudest. I will post more time lapse. :)
You gone round that fast you met yourself 😁👍
LOL!
Bahahahah!! I love the fast speed!! 😂🤣😂 so fun to watch!! 👍👍👍😁😁😁
So glad you got a kick out of it! :)
man imagine only having the push lawnmower lol. you be cutting that yard all day haha
There really are people out there who use push mowers for yards like this! Always surprised when I see that.
I mow my 2 acres with a scythe
I do that with mine it's about the same size maybe a little bigger I have a ride on but the engine sized up what used to take to take me a couple hours takes 3 days to finish
So relaxing.
These Scag mowers are the real deal!!!!!
WOW that is a lot of yard. Looks great now.
Thanks!
Wow! Very nice video the quality is very good,
Thanks!
First time
First class job as always 🇬🇧
14:52 Ok, I have NEVER seen that on a lawn care YT channel before and I have a LOT of YT lawn care channels I watch. WELL DONE :)
hehe, I do it all the time. Glad you got a kick out of it! :)
I love cutting thick grass like that
I like the rewind at the end!
hehe, I almost put a vacuum cleaner sound in for that. :)
Damn that thing cut nice
That reverse slow motion was pretty cool. I always watch your videos and man that mower cuts good.
I think this is the best video I've seen on your channel! My new favorite
Cool! Yea, it does have some appeal doesn't it. Something to look at for sure. :)
Love your work brother! Great videos!
Thanks!
Hello. That mower is a beast. Definitely.
I love your channel, less talk, more work done.
I just suscribed. Great job man. 👍👍👍
Thanks, welcome! You can thank all the people who told me I talk to much. :)
If only we could go that fast on a lawn mower
Trust me their is plenty of guys who think their mower is a race car & then they wonder why they have to double & triple cut the lawns... if they run the machine at the correct speed the lawn get cut correctly the first pass.
Those new blades make mowing go by so fast )
This is my dream job. No joke.
What's the big deal?!
That's how fast I cut my lawn all the time! With plenty of time left over to rebuild the roof on my house, get my laundry done, get a haircut make a lasagna and bake a cake!!!
These kids today think they're so special.😀
👍
Awesome zero turn one pass kills it first time seeing that excellent job my respects
Mike - Are you keeping us in suspense? We wanna know what piranha looking blades you're running!
Actually I'm running Gator blades in this video. This was a while ago and I didn't have the Kavli blades yet.
Love it!!!!
Wow that's a big lawn
Scag , put this man on the payroll !! What engine is on that machine ? Excellent job !
That's the Kawasaki 850V. Never had a problem with it.
@@Something2LookAt fun fact: V is for vertical.
My Ferris is jealous!
Cheetah kicked that overgrown tall grass in the ***! Go Mike Go!
Getting close to a hundred thousand. Keep it up. I'll try to get some buddy's from other grass channels to give you a look and some more subs.
Thanks! It would be neat to get to 100K!
That’s a lot of yard to mow!! I wonder why people let it get soo tall. Oh well Your videos are very good for destressing !! Thanks 😊🙋♀️
Oh, they're mostly out of town and don't see it.
I need that mower, it cuts so good.
Yea they are expensive, but worth it really.
Dang Mike, that is a big yard. Must have taken near an hour to trim it!
Yea it really is an hour or more to trim.
Great work mate! Love the bigger jobs like that. What editor do you use?
This is Vegas 16. I usually use Corel VideoStudio unless I have to do something tricky. It's just a friendlier interface.
I assume this is a normal weeks worth of grown for Florida. We are at a 2” rain deficit for Chicago. Hottest summer on record over 147 years. I didn’t even bother cutting my clients yard or my own. It rained 1.2” total for august.
No no, this is 4-6 weeks growth. Hang in there! It'll rain!
@@Something2LookAt I went without cutting the grass at my business while my mower was in the shop for 8 weeks. It was 4ft tall lol. Old dixie was struggling.
Wow!! That is some fast mowing!! New property?
I've had this one for a couple years now. This footage is from the first time I cut it.
Love the video....question...did you walk the field before you mowed all that crazy thick grass or take your chances? Love the reverse video at the end...haven't seen that before!!
Believe it or not I don't walk the properties before hand anymore. In the case of grass this thick, you wouldn't be able to see anything anyway. I do a lot of hoping. :)
Are most properties smooth and flat there? up here in Michigan the frost and ground moles make for some extremely rough bumpy lawns.
Yea they are generally flat and smooth. We do have some trouble with armadillos digging and sometime wild pigs. The pigs now, they can dig up a whole yard overnight!
So large a job. I was thinking how could I keep up if it was my yard? I would be out there each day doing a section at a time. Wow.
Yea even with commercial equipment this one usually takes me about 4 hours to mow, edge and trim. It's my biggest yard.
14:49 When they don't pay you after you finish.
Regálame esa máquina amigo está super Dios te bendiga saludos.
Nice
Ayo and Teo reverse. Tenet the movie crazy but satisfying
Great job
Oh! How often do you change your blades due to Florida sand?
I can get a whole year out of them. But I think that's because I'm using multiple mowers.
Making to much turns can cause a lot of problems with the grass try to keep the lines straight as possible and change the format mat every visit making all those turns create spots not cut and etc... just some great pointers that can make your lawns look amazing
How large is this property? How long does it take to mow it normally?
I guess about 3 acres. Normally a solid hour of straight mowing.
What inch height were you cutting at and what kind of grass is that?
I'm cutting at 3 inches and this one is kinda unique. Most of this yard is natural grass. What just normally grows in nature here in Florida. A lot of bahia but a wide variety of native Florida grasses.
@@Something2LookAt u y
What would the typical charge be for a lawn approximately that size? If I may ask.
Oh you get as much as you can. The big ones never understand the size-to-price ratio. Try for $75 per acre.
What part of Florida is this haha
Good
Sangat luar biasa membuat pekerjaan menjadi cepat dan efisien
How many hours are on that machine now Mike? I've got 390 hours on my Toro Z Master.
It just rolled over 1600. Oh, your Toro is just a baby! Lots of years left. :)
nice cleaning at 15:15
What blades were you using on this one mate ?
These were Gator blades.
I live in Texas on 1,016 acres, I would hire you to come mow for me... just another days work.🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wow! No, that might take 2 days... :)
And people talk about how mowing in thick grass and weeds is bad on your spindles,...Mike, since you have 1600 hrs on your mower, I’d like to know how many times have you either replaced your spindles, or the bearings inside?
Never. Still the originals. I have only replaced belts on the Cheetah. Everything still original. 8 years old now!
Something 2LookAt to me, it debunks the myth of “prematurely wearing out my mower” when it comes to mowing taller grass. If your spindles have sealed bearings, did you remove the inner seals of the bearings so that they can legitimately be greased?
@@amandadavis9726 No actually. The spindles on this mower have never been greased. The inside of the spindle would be dry from the factory and there is no grease zerk. What they refer to as no maintenance spindles. They're still nice and tight too!
I just picked up a 36 great Dane
Ooo, I love the 36. Is it a Super Surfer? I remember the 36 inch Super Surfer. It was actually running 3 blades! Tiny ones!
Something 2LookAt yup it’s a super surfer and it has 3 blades it’s a very compact mower can’t get the blades to turn on idk y:(
hello here i talk about brazil. is this area private or is it a public agency?
Are those mosquitoes coming out of the mower chute?
ha, well, no. But there are a lot of mosquitoes here!
Hey mike how long have you had that orange zero turn?
8 years if you can believe it.
Lol you got history on your mowers 🤣
@@felicianoleal4358 my lawnmower is around 25 years old, my dad bought it around 1995.
@big chungles just like mike here peoples mowers have history
We see no orange mower, only Cat's Eye Gold
well but why it looks like a field, before and after mowing ?
That side of the property was never sodded. Basically, it is a field with natural native grasses.
Good grief! How many acres do these people ask you to mow?
I think it's about 3 acres.
Do you ever hit snakes in that tall grass?
Oh yea. Sometimes big ones!
A shout out for Foreigner in phillipines
What’s the hp on that Cheetah?
It's a Kawasaki 850V, 27 hp.
Have you ever thought about getting a stander mower? I've seen a lot of lawn care companies on CZcams that prefer stander's because it's less wear and tear on your knees to stand then it is wear and tear on your tailbone to sit
Oh my, I don't think you're getting all notifications. Of course I do have a stander and I agree with what you're saying. My last 3 videos have been with my stander. Take a peek, you'd like it!
@@Something2LookAt oh im an idiot!! You do have a stander, the great dane!
Wich machine is it? How Much does it cost?
It is a 61 inch Scag Cheetah. About $12K
All that is missing is some of those tunes you make.
I get so many negative comments when I use music.
Gotta love The Cheater
How long to cut would be nice to know! Then how long to weed eat it!!! I'm wore out thinking about it!!!
It was about an hour and 15 minutes straight cutting time. And a full hour of trimming. But the hardest part was the edging. I was there 4 hours.
@@Something2LookAt 4 hours edging? I have to take 4 Advil just thinking about that.
I tried to stop watching several times but I couldn't...
Man if I ever let my grass grow that much my 20hp troy bilt lawn tractor would self destruct. But it's also a tenth of the price a scag would run you probably. Get what you pay for that's for sure.
Oh, the Troybilt would do it. You just have to go over it slow at the highest setting. Yes these mowers do cost a little more, but they are truly tanks. I think a 42 inch Troybilt is about 250 lbs and this Cheetah is 1400!
Yea I was exaggerating a little. My yard got away from me once with situations out of my hands. It took about 4 hours to do .7 acres double cut and bagged. And about a gallon and a half of fuel.
I’m dizzy...lol
LOL, a bit of a joy ride for sure!
What's wrong customer didn't pay for the service so at the end you show putting all the grass back LOL
lol, yep!
Could you (this is a big ask) fade the sound from one clip to the next in future? The start-stop audio doesn't help with sleep, it's too jarring.
Hmm, that is a good idea. Simple crossfades on each scene would do that. I'll see what I can do. :)
@@Something2LookAt rock on, Mr. At.
So which blades are you running here, as I've spoken to the man down on the bottom of the planet. Very interesting setup he's developing, and I see he's added some new additions to the line up.
Even still, I'll have to change mandrels to use any of them, and then I have a lot of uneven surfaces with a high sand content to the soil. So as nice as they cut, that's a lot of expense, considering how quickly blades get used up, just by the sand eating the steel, and considerable more sharpening is required also due to this fact.
That's not figuring any losses due to clipping a high spot in the dryer months, and warping a blade or two, because the soil gets as hard as concrete in places. With the leading edges turned down as they are, even shorter mandrels aren't a sure fix to that problem I've to deal with.
So still debating giving them a try, even the newer models he's released here of late. Question is, have you clipped anything solid, are any contact with the ground, and if so results of that mishap?
If you don't mind letting me know, if something of that nature happened while using that which I'm speaking.
lol, well, yes. I hit a sidewalk coming out of a ditch. The blades won the battle! There is a huge gash in the sidewalk. But very much my fault. You have to remember those downward teeth! That was the big reminder and I think I can remember now.
So John's new Finisha blades are extremely good and pretty much as capable as the Beast blades. He says the Finisha blades are significantly cheaper to buy than the Beast blades. So that helps. Curiously today I switched back to Gator blades to see the difference. I used to swear by the Gator blades but they felt like I was swimming through seaweed! A lot more resistance than the Finisha blades. And they were sharp! I'll be putting the Finisha blades back on tomorrow and leaving them on. Much better than Gators.
Oh, ironically as you asked, I am actually using Gator blades in this video. This was filmed a while ago before I had any Kavli blades. Yes, John is a mower blade genius. I truly don't understand why they work so well, but they do!
@@Something2LookAt Easy, draw you a picture of it so you can see how the turn down cuts as it passes through, then its thinned down where the hi lift blade can actually hold it up. then as the blade goes round full circle, it gets any loose ends and thins grass again .
Which this makes clippings smaller, and easier to pass across to next blade, which in turn mulches it finer, as it tumbles through to the third blade.
By then it's mulched pretty small compared to even Gator blades, because you notice, how many times you mowed the clippings on top of mowed grass, before it was mulched fine enough to settle into grass, instead of laying on top.
But my mower deck without changing mandrels, wouldn't make it far, before I'm chewing dirt. Add in the sand content, and blades get simple sand blasted into nothing in less than one season.
Rarely have a set lasted full mowing season, between the crawdads, fire ant mounds, and the gritty nature of the soil. Sharpening at least every other cutting, if not every isn't unusual.
Starting at 14:53 SO that's how you plant grass......

audio tracking in time lapse isn't that stellar - at .quarter speed it's all 8 bit audio. sadface.
Ok. Well, why are you going to quarter speed? I just meant the pitch is correct.
@@Something2LookAt was hoping to magically see realtime :D
