If this man’s music isn’t playing at my funeral, I’m not going.
It’s going to be difficult for SRV to play music at your funeral
@@dms548689You’re either as dumb as a donkey or not as funny as you think you are. Probably both.
He may be meeting you after that ending day though!
And I am sure hendrix will be there too, just wait for me please before they start jammin
It will not be Riviera paradise anymore.....just paradise ⭐❤️⭐
@@dms548689 You’re either as dumb as a donkey or not as funny as you think you are. Probably both.
ME TOO
Reese was as proficient with the keys as Stevie was with the strings. And then you had Chris and Tommy flawlessly laying down the rhythm. What a band.
I played this song at my Son's funeral. He was 23 and this was one of his favorite songs!!❤
I
Sorry about your Son May he REST IN PEACE..If you want something cool to do. Put Headphones on Play this song sit back and close your eyes and just listen to It.
My condolences for your loss my brother! May god bless his soul❤❤❤
Sorry about you Son Man ,be strong Man,,,,,,,,
Piano solo the best ❤❤❤
❤
Played this for my father as he was slipping away. In his last hours he was very restless. But when he heard this, he completely calmed down. Not long after, that was it. This song was always special before that, but it’s beyond special now, for sure.
This is so beautiful to know... music has Always been soothing in so many ways... God bless you, for having played for your dad... gee... This got me emotional. ...
God bless you & your father.. 🙏🏻✌️
@poom nulong i can"t Understand what you wrote....
Thank you
I am so very sorry for your loss. My precious husband passed away on Father's Day 2022, only five weeks after we learned he had lung cancer. That is when I discovered first hand that music calms those who are in transition, and makes their passing much easier for them. I hope that when my time comes to leave this life, someone will love me enough to let me leave in the peace that hearing a favorite song brings.
❤️🙏
This song is proof that SRV was a genius, and not a one trick pony. He played blues and that was his bread and butter but he could also play jazz.
And yet young people have no Clue about the Blues, or Guitar players.
You make an excellent point. I couldn't help but think that. God rest his soul.
HE DOES MAGIC WITH A GUITAR!!!
He puts his ❤, Spirit, his Soul in it for us!!!
Truly, one of perhaps 5 most beautiful songs ever played by the best Guitar Player ever on this Earth, nobody else but Mr. Stevie Ray Vaughan crying, laughing and loving this 9 minutes and 13 seconds of pure joy at Austin City Limits. May God keep Stevie in our hearts forever!
2024. Still Sounds GREAT.. 🎧🎵🎶🔥💜🎧🎵🎶🔥💜
Always does. Old is Gold. Good old musics.
In his book, he said that this song is a prayer of sorts. A song from his soul.
If this beautiful piece of music is his way praying then I say amen and praise God
One of the best instrumental songs in universe.
He was just getting started. We love you Stevie. 💜
An absolute masterpiece
Absolutely! However, Lenny does it for me! Most beautiful instrumental I have ever heard!
@@scharryolds7989They're both beautiful beyond words.
@scharryolds7989 I'm sorry but who or what are you referring to when you say Lenny?
Stevie's music isn't played, it's FELT!!!😢❤
Is this what heaven sounds like…
Beautiful comment .
Well done you 😎
I'm counting on it!
His amazing talent just flowed from his soul! His being!
Probably the best version of this song..
I don't have the words to describe, what this piece of music does to me, because there are no words. Stevie puts all the things, that are too big for words into beautiful music that everybody can understand. He had a speciel gift!
Reese was on FIRE this night as well.
That could well be the greatest guitar solo ever heard .
A “flex”from SRV for future young guitar players to understand what is possible.
Riviera Paradise is Stevie's masterpiece.
Interisting chords! 🎶
what??
I think every song of Stevie its a masterpiece. But yes, thats a diferent wave
For me it's little wing. But this song is amazing still.
For me, it’s the this one and Tin Pan Alley. Both masterpieces 🙂
So clean it kills 99.9% of the bacteria
Dude, that's the best comment I've seen on YT...BWAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
Killing COVID in 2021
Saw this on cliffs of dover too

Nice comment...
Thank you Stevie, for stopping by us, and giving us your Music!!! There will never be anyone like you!! Thanks again!!! you have marked the path of my musical life, and you will always be a cornerstone, and a reference in the essential discography of us musicians....Blues!!!!
Some songs shouldn’t have a limit on “likes”, this is definitely one of them!!!
SRV making the guitar sound liquid as if it was water. Incredible masterpiece.
SRV’s Masterpiece…
What a privilege for the ones that saw SRV playing live.
I'm one and yes. You're right
It was a privilege.
RIP Stevie. Thanks for all the Love you passed our way
The best nine minutes you could ever spend on CZcams. I have watched this dozens of times and still find myself hanging on every note, and sometimes forgetting to breathe. I love the way he smiles as he milks that last note for everything he can get out of it. Legend!
I keep coming back to this video
I love the way Stevie gives Reese a look with a smile after Reese's solo.
Another incredible masterpiece. SRV you will never be forgotten.
We are all suffering. We miss you.
Why he is underrated
If ever there was an artist that bore their soul by way of instrument, it was Stevie. He told stories and spoke to your heart and soul with his playing. R.I.P. Brother😎🙏☝️
This is my gospel. RIP Stevie
If I had a DeLorean I'd have Doc Brown take me back so I could see this concert.
When Stevie dedicated the song to anyone who was suffering, he damned well meant what he said. I don't know if we were simply blessed to have him or if we were cursed to have lost him, but Stevie gave so much I guess we must have been blessed.
He was definitely unique and a source of inspiration for many of us. Wherever we are from, SRV had that special gift, to reach anyone's heart.
After he became clean and sober (and born again), he once said that we are put on this earth to help each other---his music was his way of doing that (especially when it came to stuff like this). Thanks for sharing your gift, SRV!
@@davidl570 right on
Blessed for sure
Blessed. Very blessed, we are.
"This song goes out to anyone who's still suffering in any way" RIP Stevie
So soulful, shaken but not stirred, Stevie. My Auntie was a straight BB King fan. When I was growing up that is all she played. When I got older, I heard Stevie, I was amazed! I took the tape to her and let me tell you, from my Aunt, she said, "A white man playing and singing like that, surely he's got that BB thang, he is a soul Brother! She was from the deep south, she knew the blues. She was simply amazed at Stevie. She became his number one fan after that. No higher compliment can I give than this of my Auntie's experience. She was moved by Stevie, and Stevie was justified as a blues artist to her. RIP Stevie, you are loved and you live in our hearts and minds.
I just can't get enough of Reese Wynans
One of the most beautiful piece of music ever written...
A PEACEFUL CONFIRMATION
A LONGING IS IN THE STARS ..
increadible
better cuidar man ever...
better guitar man ever!!!!
I don't believe it was written on paper, but taken with him.
Anyone see SRV's low-key smile at the end of the piano solo? Phrasing was perfect, Stevie knew it
If you look closely you'll see the action on the guitar is absurdly high...with a set of .013 high e. string ! Nobody on this planet could play this on that guitar ! I rember a long time ago reading in a guitar magazine he liked the high action and heavy strings because he wanted his guitar to fight back ! Truly a one of a kind musician ! He was something special and sorely missed !
The playing and mix on this masterpiece is beyond flawless, it is other worldly.
It hardly ever gets said, but... what a killer, killer band he had behind him
exactly
You ain't kidding...those guys are super and legendary...
yes ssir
Best of the best..all
My thoughts..
Now this is real music Ladies and Gentlemen. ......
Perhaps the most beautiful song he ever composed. Had he lived longer, would he have explored more in the direction of this subtle, contemplative jazz-influenced style? Tragically, we'll never know.
I send to this to my genius, handsome, scientist son, Mike who was so cool I’m flattered forever. I’ll never be as cool as him. You are incredibly missed. Tears I love you Mike up there in heaven hugging God! Mwah! Love, Mom love to Meg, Mikey, and Oliver!!
There have been so few instruments as finely tuned as Stevie. He melded into his guitars. He didn't play music. He was music. Whatever was in his heart, came out through his hands perfectly. This is just beautiful.
Exactly!
Beautifully said.
👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
What a lovely tribute .
Well done you .
Well spoken… timeless
2023 and we are all still admiring and loving SRV’s playing
3023 they're gonna be doing the same.
There's a lot of times I drift off into other genres but always once a year I have to come back and listen to this and Little Wing by SRV. Damn do I wish he was still here.
SRV is the greatest to ever flick a string imo
@@tylerevans2789 For you it’s maybe once a year that you come back to listen to this, but for me it’s EVERY SINGLE DAY! ❤ it so much that I can’t help myself from getting lost in this SRV 🎸 instrumental, soothing and relaxing sound! I also wish he was still here with us - I’d buy tickets to see him in concert in a heartbeat if he was - such a loss of a young, talented musician 😥!
We wont have another like him for 1,000 years
I down right. Hate helicopters who took my brother...from another mother.SRV lives forever♡
My favourite guitar piece... by my personal favorite greatest player to ever play the instrument. Period..... end of story! I
God, I love this song
God bless Stevie Ray Vaughan
Look at the way he fingers the maple wood on the neck ..
caressing between the frets .,
Paying respect to the forest and the trees.. 🌲
Any time I am suffering, i listen to this and always recommend it to others. God bless you Stevie for playing it, and God bless you Miles for telling me about it.
As incredible a technician Stevie was on the guitar,......his feel, phrasing, and ability to speak through that piece of wood and steel is, and always will be,............ unmatched. We miss you so much brother. RIP SRV
Nothing that stevie ray cant do to take away my problems. Listen to him when I cant get a grip
Love ❤
Guitar players would know how hard to play this good while your tone is that clean. You have literally zero chance to make a mistake. Even the slightest note or mistake that doesn't belong to the song will reveal himself and sound HUGE. The man was an amazing guitar player. RIP Stevie.
It sounds like he has a pretty heavy noise pedal, and yet is still able to play such dynamics, crazy
That's why in my opinion you should try to learn every song on acoustic or at least on a really clean tone so you hear every mistake.
Im 61 yrs old and hearing this for the 1st time, WOW!😮
I’ve watched this literally 100 times….and i never get tired of it….Stevie just feels it…nothing short of amazing…. he’ll never die…
That was beyond beautiful.
When my son was 19, he introduced me to SRV. He is now 3 months away from 50 and he still loves this music. In fact he owns at least 10 guitars and can play just as well, well not really but pretty close. Thank God for my son because at 70, I still love to groove with SVR. I hope to see him in heaven someday. I will...xoxo
That is beautiful-and you absolutely will!!!!
@@jesusheals2 Well assuming SRV believed in Jesus's redemptive work....in heaven we won't really care who is there or not,,,I think that we'll just be happy to be there! Peace to all!
Oh, you are in for the most beautiful arrival in to Heaven that anyone could ask for!
Thatta girl. I believe Stevie Ray found Jesus somewhere close to the end ... Ours is a merciful God, who gave him just enough time to clean up his life and come to his Savior. Time is running out. We'll see him sooner than people believe.

"Difficult to play impossible to grasp, music answers every question never asked, a shared common memory of divinity still resonates from our past." td
man he was special
Truth is suffering. What a beautiful song.
This is the song that the angels request constantly in heaven......
nice one Linda, first time listen to it..a paris feel ..he's chaming ever angel up there..
The god father of guitar and blues. Unforgettable.
My GOD! What feel! What emotion. A true master who is sorely missed ❤️
The first time I heard this, it literally gave me the chills. Turn out the lights, close your eyes, and let the music take you to another plane of existence.
Yes
This goes out to anyone suffering in anyway😔 depression..there's nothing worse imo that horrible empty homesick feeling that never goes away all..this masterpiece does help alot
Been there. All this is is momentary and will pass. Don't give up.
hell yes, well said.
Stevie is a legend. And his band wow… Chris, Tommy and Reese.. master musicians .
Still... Such an amazing talent gone from the world WAaay too soon. Probably my first tragic musical loss!
I visited Stevie's gravesite in Dallas a few months ago. Aside from some guitar picks, to which I contributed one of my favorites that I always carried in my wallet, there was not much in the way of tributes on his gravesite. I am assuming he cemetery removes flowers and such after a certain amount of time. The plot is very small and in a sort of island between roadways. I first heard of Stevie's music when I was working in a nightclub in Dallas. I was into hard rock back then, such as Ozzy, Sabbath, Van Halen, etc. Little did I know that this man would change music forever. This song is one that I would love to be played at my own funeral. Stevie said, "this goes out everybody who is still suffering in any way". In these times, aren't we all? This song has always brought me peace. I know Stevie gave up substance abuse right before his death and was getting his life right. Just hoping I can do the same.
That man on keys has soul too.
He plays with Joe Bonamassa now, i watched him play just before a month here in Zürich. Outstanding!
I love that solo so much i feel like im cheating on stevie
@@aleksandarangelov6572 i got to see him with joe back in February
Reese Winans
He sure does but unfortunately he ain't got the feel like stevie does
Another masterclass from SRV.
It is in Rivierra Paradiso and Lenny that you hear the real muscianship and gifted playing of Stevie Ray Vaughan.
love to kick back in the car, listening to this at great volume to cover up the nurses' cries from the trunk..
srv was the best
Stevie Ray was the best, no question. He played from the heart, and he had more soul than anyone else out there! I am so glad, and quite proud of the fact that I got to see him just a year before he passed. We all love you Stevie, and may God’s speed be with you!!!
Where did you see him and please try to put into words what it was like?
I grew up listening to Carlos Santana, and I have to agree with you. Stevie was the best. He could play anything, Blues, Soul , Rock and put them together at any time.
Same here. I was actually listening to Santana before I found out about Stevie Ray. I still listen to both of them every day.
@@Mopartoolman I just saw Santana on UTube. His concert, invite Stevie Ray, Jimmy Vaughan, and guitarist from Fabulous Thunder Birds from Costa Mesa , California,1988
Stevie played amazing on this but I’ll tell you what, Reese took this song to another spiritual level
I could actually cry watching this !! SRV was sooo good , sooo humble and taken well before his time !!!!!!!
SRV's first words in this video define who he was...a humble, beautiful soul.
💕 💞 💓 💗 💖
I just think SRV is the most soulful guitar player there is.
Music just flowed through Stevie. So sad that after he beat his demons and came out on the other side tragedy struck. We are all blessed to have his music to comfort us even today.
I never had the privilege to see him live but when I listen to him with my eyes closed I feel his spirit. The keyboard player, Reese, has been touring with Joe Bonamassa.
Thank you Stevie. You healed me. ❤
A co-worker introduced me to SRV's music. I was so enthralled that I said I was going to see this artist in concert. Being the cold-hearted SOB, (NOT orb!), that he was, said to me, "No you're not.". And I said, "Why not?". "Because he's dead". My heart was crushed! "Riviera Paradise" IS my favorite SRV song!!! "When I listen to SRV play, I know I'm in the presence of greatness!". Know who said that? EC!!!!! Quite the compliment, I'd say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Proof that Jazz is the king of all genres
Reese Wyan’s solo is transcendent on this
Ive put this down to be playing at my funeral. Im not dying, just planning ahead
Music really is a way to reach out and hold on to each other in a healthy way.
SRV
"This goes out to everybody who's still suffering in any way"
the brothers in the "first reaction" videos should see this.
Ramonrey77 : Such a beautiful soul.
Whenever I'm down about something going on in my life..
I listen to this song and I will automatically feel much better.. o;)
💕 💞 💓 💗 💖
I suffer from Hemroids, Does this go out to me as well?
This is one of those songs that I listen to with my eyes closed and let it wash the stress away. " Take me where you will Stevie!" Such a shame they called you home so soon.
'To anyone suffering in any way.' Those words will continue over the years to bring comfort to me...🎸🎸🎸💔💔💔
Gone, but never forgotten..
Pure magic. This song could be on repeat for the rest of my life and I’d be content. RIP to one of the best to ever pick up a guitar.
Can't get any better !
Best human being to ever lay there hands on a guitar.. hats off to jimi but mannnnn
I never really thought of SRV being such an emotional jazz musician. Man, he makes me feel every note.
Lisa, He is one of the great blues guitarists of our time. There would be no such thing as blues if not for emotion. Feelings are what all blues songs are about !
Children-Children
It's music.now it will the
Underrated thing .
It's more about blues and feeling, not really jazz😅
I mean, he does feel every fucking note and that's so great

roll every stroke
Well, jazz is derived from blues, so that makes sense…
The greatest Austin City Limits episode ever shown.
Michael Price. I agree. At least the best I have seen.
The one with Eric Johnson was close.....just close.
I still remember the very first time I saw this, stoned af looking for something to watch on tv & I come across this guy playing the fuck outta his guitar on PBS, I fell in love instantly!
There has been hundreds of ACL episodes at this point, and I haven't seen them all, so I can't say that for sure, but I can't really imagine many, if any, being better.
I love this from PBS --- Austin City Limits!!! Hope they don't take away PBS!!!! I TRULY MISS MR. STEVIE RAY💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔 RIP
Can you just imagine how good this guy would be now... at say, 62 or 70 years old... the soul that could permeate an entirety... it's a gift and loss, across the board.
He'd be 70 this year.
Ever just listen to the quiet parts of SRV's playing? Like, not just the solos but when he just jams rhythm chords? Such a "full" groove. Use of chords and timing is impeccable.
The dynamics and restraint kills me. He’s so moving in his playing.
This song always makes me cry, makes life worth living, hearing the beautiful music we can make. We are so lucky footage of SRV exists. Legend.
P
When he hits that harmonic and depresses the string behind the nut I immediately get tears........you can't watch him and not experience loss, then he makes the guitar cry and you have to cry with it.
@@MrMnchstr Hello 👋
Legit legend! Gone before his time !
Just thought the same thing. I learned guitar because of Dime, but SRV has kept my heart since my father showed me his tunes when I discovered music as a kid. This is such a great example of his mastery at guitar, he could do spastic playing so well I forget he could bridge R&B and even Jazz.
Stevie Ray Was An Entire VIBE!❤
my dad who named me after this legend always told me when he whas in a manic episode he used to listen to the music of srv and made him relax and not to co craazy ... never unstood him until i got my first big and long manic episode.. and now 25-10 i have to celibrate my 3th birthday without you r.i.p dad... i hope the volume is loud enough you can also hear it... because you always told me the only way to listen to SRV is loud enough to undust your speakers.. =)
Stevie passed when i was 30. Now im 61 and just cant get enough. I wont stop buying until i have every album.
