I remember my Dad taking me to see Metallica New Year's Day 2000. He was hoping they'd play Whiskey In The Jar. I told him they probably won't. Well, they did and he had the biggest smile on his face! Great memories!
And now, 22 years later, same happened to me and my girlfriend. On the way to the show in Curitiba, we were talking about how we wanted to hear Whiskey so bad but they weren't playing it on previous shows, suddenly, they start playing it. Totally unexpected, we had the biggest smiles too!

I saw the show just four days after that one, the only Metallica concert I've seen so far. I don't remember too much except the feeling, energy, and people I was with.
Saw them in Atlanta in 2021. I was hoping they played Whiskey. They did not. 😟

Perdi minha mãe 2 meses antes desse show. No dia, fiquei pensando se eu deveria ir, ai lembrei que ela sempre me disse: "Filho o que importa são os bons momentos". Fui no show e em diversos momentos lembrei dela e disse mentalmente "Mãe to tendo bons momentos aqui". Foi um show incrivel. Ganhei energia pra seguir em frente.

Quando eu era criança ouvia as músicas deles em um rádio de pilha velho, meus pais eram muito humildes, não tinhamos nem TV em casa, morava no interior , quando eu estava na fila ouvi galera falar whiskey in the gar não vai tocar, eu pensei vai sim , queria muito ver, na hora que tocou chorei pulei gritei , o ROCK faz parte da minha vida , essa data vai viver estar em minha memória para sempre .OBRIGADO METALLICA foi incrível.

Começou essa música, eu não sabia se pulava, cantar foi difícil, pois deu um nó na garganta, e lágrimas escorregam, pois é o som que mais curto, fechei os olhos e enquanto ouvia, lembrei das festas na juventude, meus amigos, foi foda, a melhor noite , 2 anos de espera, que valeu cada dia, e sem contar o coro em The Memory Remains.

@@philippekuster por que é outra das músicas que explodiu nas rádios e MTV após 1996. Toca Battery, Whiplash, Fight Fire e 80% do público parado com cara de bunda sem entender nada. Toca Sandman, Nothing Else Matters, Sad But True, Whiskey, Unforgiven plateia pira e fala esse papo de melhor show da vida. Mas tudo e festa e importante todos se divertirem a sua maneira.
