- A late calf is a fall gift on the farm! Hilarie and I head out to the fields to find, dehorn, and tag it. Later, it's time to move the cattle to a new pasture, but Titus the bull has gone missing.

Never in my life did I think I would feel sorry for a bull! I guess it's a testament to how good of a job Pete does showing the time and care he and Hillary put into all of their animals. I feel like I "know" Titus...and yep, I feel bad for him.
His cattle are remarkably tame (even the bulls.) On my uncles farm in South Dakota, where he had about 200 head, we were told to keep clear of the bulls. Decades ago one of his neighbors had been killed by a bull.
A testament to good story telling………
I was worried about worst case scenario……so I am relieved and hope it is balance of power struggle.
Pete and Hillary are great lovers of all their animals and it shows.👍🏻❣️👍🏻❣️👍🏻❣️👍🏻
Looks like Titus is aging. Retiring alphas tend to separate themselves from the family as they surrender leadership to the new one. Might be.
@@machintelligenceAlways good to keep one eye on the bulls but cattle temperament and lots of interaction with the herd builds bonds of trust between cattle and humans.
Small dairy farms usually are the ones that get to know them. I commend Pete and Hillarie on how well the cattle know them.
Hi Pete and Hillary as true fans we will watch all content you show. You know what’s best for yourself and we are happy to be supportive and along for the ride. Your values and thoughts come through on all content. Be true to yourself . That’s all we ask for!
Hope you have a wonderful day.God bless..
Pete, I was thinking about your Channel conundrum. I don’t think there is anything wrong with changing your content based on yearly activity on the farm. If you work on a tractor film working on a tractor, if it’s animals or chores it’s animals and chores. Heck, I watched you fix a clock once. Do what you want and folks will watch. Just my two cents.
Thanks Joe. On most all farms, chores decrease some in the winter, and time is spent fixing equipment. It's just reality. But some people have no tolerance for seeing mechanical work. It is what it is I guess.
@@JustaFewAcresFarmFortunately, you do not depend on those some people! And yes, as everywhere, there are always some…
@@JustaFewAcresFarm I think some folks would watch you and Hilary reading books if you filmed it. 🤷🏻♂️. I would probably take a pass on that but you get the drift.
I liked the clock one also. It had some history for context, some mechanical work ...
He Is a story teller and he is great at it.
Pete, you are a fortunate man. You have Hillary, you have your farm, and you have a fantastic U-Tubeshow. Everything you have is a product of your hard work. We can tell that you enjoy the life you have built. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us.
Love the daily dose of peaceful serenity out on the farm
Hey first off God bless you and Hillary we love the show. I need help with my 49 farmall m
New carb rebuild pull choke fuel spillage. New cap rotor points condenser 12 volt coil just pops when I try to start
Pepper 🌶️
Check the firing order. Sounds like you could have plug wires crossed. Best to remove number one plug, put your thumb in the plug hole and bump it over till you feel compression. Bring it up to TDC and look where the rotor is pointing. It should be on #1 wire. From there, go clockwise around the distributor in firing order.
Man always an adventure down on the farm. Great stuff today, Pete. I'm glad Titus and Ortin are okay
I was wondering if Titus being confined while Orden was out on pasture would mean something for his fitness-level. Poor Titus.
Bossy pig definitely loved that bale! pepper is a good name for the new calf and thanks to both of you for another day in the life video, they always make my day 👍
When I was a child at 8 we shocked the hay in the field…with a pitchfork (before bailers). I’m still a girl‼️🤣
Thanks Pete, in the last couple of video's it seemed you were questioning the status of your content. I for one, love the mixed content and this video is a perfect example of can't wait to see what's on for today. I think that seeing your subscribers increase over a hundred thousand since I found you at approx. 300K in itself speaks volumes. I think you should keep doing what you are doing and how you are doing it. You, Hillarie, your children and all the animals are fine examples of what we need in todays world. Keep it up! Keep us posted on the two grumpy old men, even if it's a short video.
In the past I felt bad for Ordin, this year it seems Ordin may have caused Titus to take a hike and go think about things.
So I felt bad for Titus.
I guess I'm a fan of the underdog...or underbull.
Hello Pete and Hillary. Pepper sounds like a real good name for your new calf. Thank you for sharing your wonderful videos with us. 🇺🇸
Nice learning curve with the tractor fork and the loose hay.
You're as smart as an octopus..
Pete, I was an educator for life (Was? Am). While becoming more familiar with you, Hil, the kids, animals, etc; it’s easy to say I love you all and so very much approve of the way everyone is treated. The warmth is amazingly evident. Thank you, Pete, et al.
Great cost benefit analysis 😂
My boys are 5 and they still think you can hear them at the end of the video when they say "Bye Pete!".
That's very cool. Thank you and say hi to them for me..
Glad Titus was ok, looks like his pride was hurt. It’s always a pit in the stomach feeling or worse if a member of the herd goes missing, but more so if it’s a bull. Cute new heifer calf!
Glad Titus was reunited with the herd. I remember moving heifers from different pasture on our dairy farm as a kid. We kept one bull with our herd, until Dad switched to AI. Never want one animal loose. Glad all is well.
Ditto 😊
Orden! New King of the Hill! Hang in there Titus!
Poor man. Lol hes definitely upset. He'll get over it. Great job pete caring for your animals
Hello Hilarie & Peter. Whew! Should I have been worried that Titus could have passed? So glad when you guys pointed him out. Looks like maybe some unfinished business between Titus aaa7 Ortin? Love seeing the herd together! Be well.
I was rooting for Ordin this year. Titus has won the last few battles.
Pete, Hillary is definitely your better half the longer I watch your videos for the past year plus. She is quiet, but she is a reckoning to be dealt with whenever there’s an issue because she is the one almost always who solves the problem!
(Just like in this video when she found Titus way down in the bottom of the hill, and often times, she finds the baby calves as well, when the mother has hit them so well in the tall grass.♥️
The two of you are so well ❣️matched, and I think that’s what a lot of us are drawn to❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️ you may be the one who does the videos, Pete, but Hillary is your silent partner who supports you, no matter what you’re doing.
My mother and father were married 51 years before my father had his unexpected heart attack. He was a farmer, and also had a business in concrete work, both of which what time consuming jobs. He was the same size of pants today he passed away as the day he married my mother, how many of us can say that
My mother was his silent partner and she was a Quiet Support behind my fathers minutes and she ran a great house for 12 children and many guest❣️❣️😊 people love to come to our house for my mothers food and hospitality❣️
I would just like to say kudos to Hillary for being willing to take backseat to Pete but we all know it takes a quiet person to do the behind-the-scenes work and you are such a person. Thank you Hillary for your continued loyalty to Pete and the children and Pharm and CZcams.❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️😊😊
Last, I would like to say that I do not care for the name pepper for a baby black calf that has no white on it. I know that you’re going to name it what you want Pete but why would you name that beautiful black category when there is not a spot of white on it, and usually pepper is associated with some thing that is black and white.!! There are many names that you can come up with for an all black calf: such as Midnight, Ebony, Midnight, queen of Egypt, Ace, bandit, beauty, charcoal, Licorice… and so many more. Please, I beg of you, Pete, let Hillary name this calf because I know she’s not gonna pick pepper.!
Pepper the heifer! Love the video. Frank and Sandy
glad there really isn't a missing bull. sometimes we just need to separate and think things thru.
Herd politics is complicated and it will take a bit to settle everything down. I sure appreciate your content from livestock to rebuilding tractors. I enjoy it all
Dang, I hope your bulls come to an understanding without giving you more stress, Pete.
P.S. I think Pepper is a great name for the little feisty girl.
Pepper👍
Agreed Pepper!
Good idea, Pepper is the perfect name
Ah Pete, loved this video. So many good bits...correction there, ALL good bits. Wife = priceless; electric Dad joke; Titus lost in the field; being shocked by the fence...ALL of it 👌😁🤩
I'm sure he tells his age and is pondering this my be his last win (tied) . may he has relized, this may be his last year as the leader. Titus and Ordan. The battle conginues. Hoping you and Hilary are doing well. Look forward to working on tractors this winter. Looking forward to what ever you bring us on you days
What a pleasant surprise today.
The rapport you have with the cows is really heart-warming - brings a smile to my face every time.
Maybe the cows were trying to tell you about Titus! They seemed to settle down when everyone was back together. I think Titus is still trying to show the herd he's still the Boss. He's doing that by pawing the ground. LOL Bulls are fun to watch.
Titus and Ordin are the gentle fulcrum of your farm !
Pete, you bring me smiles. Love your dedication to keep it simple.
there is nothing more relaxing than watching and listening to cows eat
Have you ever tried using dehorning paste? Only takes a little dab and is a lot less invassive and painful than using a hot iron. We've used it right after birth on horned calves and it's been very effective.
Yes, we used it for years. We prefer the burner.
Another day at the farm, OUTSTANDING 🇺🇸👍👏🏻🚜👊
Love the daily routine. The cows, the chickens, the pigs and the turkeys all enjoying the nice weather. And so did you, didn't ya?
That’s a good looking calf.
Wasn't expecting a video today, so glad to see it!
Was anyone else thinking get the drone up to find Titus faster? LOL Glad all ended well!
It makes me so happy that you gave Bossy Pig a treat. She loved it.
Therapy may be in order for Titus!
That was a tad scary Titus not around...there but out of sight....! =)
the food is on both sides of the fence, but the grass is always greener on the otherside of the fence
You are really good to your Bulls. Thats why they all stay around!
Titus reminds me of the book Ferdinand the Cow! He just wanted to find the cork tree and lay down under it! LOL
Enjoying your book! Please ask Hilarie to share her honey cake recipe with us! The ones you eat every morning for breakfast!
Aloha from Utah, great to see you wearing your university of Hawaii t-shirt😅😅🎉
YOU will have to play the Rocky theme song next year when Titus makes a comeback.
Thanks Pete and Hillary for the video 😊
I was worried about Titus too. I’m glad he is alright! It gets me to thinking about contingency.
The add for a grapple hit my funny bone!! Thanks for the laugh.
The mojo is changing in the herd, the torch has passed to Orden.
That’s awesome, pig looked very happy
Watching you call your cattle reminds me of the Pied Piper of Hamelin.
Poor Titus. Things are changing...
Always an adventure, TITUS and ordin, new calf, Hilary is Priceless. Nature and my first coffee😊🥰💟😇🏁
Flies, you might already know this. Some farmers, mostly dairy farmers use a product called blue dellrin to sprinkle around manure piles, etc. It prevents flies from reproducing. We never used it on our. farm because we didn’t know about it. I discovered it years later when the flies were really bad. The funny thing is our government made the manufacturer change the color to yellow. I guess children will not eat it if it’s yellow. Probably reminds them how bad candy corn tastes. Love your show. I am retired now and sometimes watch your videos all day. I love cattle and pigs and old red tractors (Massey Ferguson and Farmalls H and M and Massey Harris 33, and 44. I got to go my Irish is coming out
I really like Titus, Owen, Patty, and Cocoa. The three are good leaders. Cocoa is just a friendly girl. Just wants to be a lap cow, I think. Lol 😅. Hope you and your wife have a wonderful day. Really enjoy the videos. Bossy pig is a goofball when it comes to straw isn't she lol 😅. 🙂🦋
Have a great day yourself and thanks
I never get tired of the time you share with your fan club .Your a fine couple and we appreciate your sharing . Thank you .
Always enjoyable to see what the herd is up to.
I love this video! Well done. It is so obvious that you love what you do on the farm. I chuckled out loud, at the pig, making his nest, and burrowing in the bale of hay. I think Titus just wanted a little "man time"........Your herd is just lovely. I enjoy the fact that you have interaction with them, and can go up to them and give them a great scratch. Every animal needs love........Bev in Maine
Hopefully Titus gets his groove back soon. It can be hard having a real competitor when he's been the big dog for so long.
Orden looks a pinch bigger than Titus. They are nice looking bulls. Titus still has a beef about it all.
I got to see two of our bulls establishing dominance today in my pasture!
Pete, while watching your vid, we saw your concern over Titus. Inturn, we felt concerned. This is why i watch.....
Pete, I just love the way you interact with your herd. I swear they gather round to listen to what you're talking about and now and then someone puts in their two cents worth, usually Patty. Congrats on the new calf. I think Pepper is a really good name for her.
All the best to you and your family.
Like the new calf. Bossy pig is funny 🤣🤣. Herd dynamics are pretty interesting. Take Care and Be safe on the farm. Out
Thank you for not showing all the details. I know it has to be done but still don't want to see it. Nope I don't want to know how the sausage is made! LOL! Just so you know I use your videos to unwind. So peaceful! Thank You.
OMG, you're right! Patty is the union rep!
It really scared me when you couldn't see Titus 😢but luckily he was okay if not sad looking ❤
You have a very large farm and a lot of beautiful gobies. You are great that the animals are very clean and well-groomed. Wishing you peace and a pleasant weekend, my friend🤝
That's a great name!! Pepper.
thanks for another video I always enjoy watching your videos
PRICELESS! Haha you got me there. Sorry Hillary
Pepper is a good name for the new calf. Bossy pig looked like she was really enjoying her hay bomb. Glad Titus is OK. 415,000 subscribers! Nice.
Every day brings a new adventure on Just A Few Acres...
Love the cows belly aching at you
I could sit and watch your shows all day, just love all the animals and I'm glad Titus was found.
I will never tire of the connection you have with your herd ! I love Patty and her constant bawls she has. I love your channel Pete and Hillary !
Beautiful calf
That was weird. I’m surprised he took off that far. But know sometimes are younger ones would go exploring. Times are changing . Hopefully he not sick. But we will see
Thanks, Pete and Hilarie! I think Titus is feeling down. You did the right thing bringing the herd to him.
Hope Titus is alright. Definitely wasn't normal from past years. Maybe he should be checked out. Possibly some form of forgetfulness. Have a wonderful weekend. Be safe.
I know just how you feel not being able to find the bull. Had a sow once who decided to take her piglets for a walk, two Km up the road to the local restaurant. Turned up complete with 12 hungry piglets right on lunch service with a full house. Very embarrassing and interesting getting her out of there with so much food around.
Nice video, always enjoy watching you and the wife working together
Titus is another Ferdinand the Bull sitting under the Cork Tree sniffing flowers, tired of butting his head with Orden.
Pepper works! What a cutie
Thanks, Pete. I sure do like Titus and Orden! And Coco...
I'm from twin island in the Caribbean (Trinidadand Tobago). I must say I truly enjoy your videos
Pete and Hillary, thank you so much for sharing your day with us.
Coco just wants to be the star of the show 🤩
Mr. Larsen, you are a good shepherd. And I like Pepper for a name.
I don't know if Bossy Pig loves eating that hay more or playing in it.. lol😂!!
Come on cows! 😎🍪🍪🍪🍪☕️
12:44 I was gonna say the same thing maybe he's taking 5 because he lost that day. Or maybe this is Titus being demoted herd wise
Good job guys
