      That's why old veterans from Europe have tended not to do so well in MLS. Especially midfielders, who are expected to run and cover a lot of ground in this league and have to compete against a bunch of ambitious 22 year olds trying to impress the top European clubs.

      @@donviajero2580most have done well though. I think the ones that haven't are put off by the long travel and the hot weather. The two English guys, lampard and Gerrard certainly aren't use to that heat. It is also tougher playing with lesser players because nearly all the players in the league are a very low level compared to top European leagues. You just have to look at how slow the movement of the ball is or the way the players find it hard to break the lines with passes to see that. I think it's mostly the travel and weather thing for the few that don't fare as well

    All the top young talents mentioned by Twellman are from LatAm. So, MLS finally figured out to leverage the superior football in LatAm; when will they welcome the vast Latino fanbase in the USA 🇺🇸 to their stadiums? (Actually, LAFC did, that’s why it’s a 🚀) When will the USSF invest in the Latino youth talent in the USA 🇺🇸? When those leading soccer in the USA 🇺🇸 finally overcome their biases, we can become a soccer culture and compete globally.

    • @donviajero2580
      @donviajero2580 Před 3 měsíci +1

      The MLS is investing in the Latino kids in the US through their youth teams and we're already getting out of it promising kids like Diego Luna, Cremaschi, Chicago's Gutierrez, and Seattle's Atencio and Vargas (all likely to be on our Olympic team). I'm also hoping for some big things out of this kid Cerrillo that the Galaxy got out of Texas after he did such a good job marking Messi last night.

      Honestly we saw this with that Atlanta team that won MLS Cup in 2018. The league is discovering that's where success really lies for them: bringing in young, underappreciated South American talent, developing them and then selling them to Europe at a markup. Rinse and repeat. That's how MLS can become a top 10 league.

    Can you please encourage Apple TV to stop posting scores of matches for at least 24 hours?
    It sucks when we can’t watch matches live and it’s near impossible to watch the recorded match, without seeing score.
    Also, they could help showcase the international diversity of our players by showing their national flag during lineup at beginning of game. This is how 😢NBC showcases Premiere League international players

    I like Taylor as a person. But MLS and Apple is in big trouble when Messi retires. MLS has basically screwed over the growth opportunities of the league. No more local broadcasts, the average kid growing up has ZERO exposure to MLS at all, ZERO. Its an absolute disaster. This has been the first season in more than a decade that I haven't watched a game yet. I probably won't be watching one anytime soon either.

      Average attendance is already higher than the NHL. MLS has to get the money from somewhere to continue growing.

      There's free games often to watch and all leagues will eventually move over to a similar model whether we like it or not. If you like/love the league and the game, you might want to try it out. Even at this stage the extra content is very good, the video is top quality, fans no longer have to hunt down which of numerous networks games might be broadcast on (which was a frustration for me) and 360 alone is well worth the price over a season.
