    Two Questions on this bike: In order to get compression when kicking i need to put in in gear and rock it for each kick, is something out of adjustment? Question 2, when electric starting this bike if it does not fire within the first couple of seconds the starter stops spinning and there is some clicking in the electrical components in the back under the seat, whats up?

    When you rebuild the carb; how far in do you screw the Idle Screw in at the onset?

    Kudo's to Yamaha engineers designing the carb that you an easily remove the float boat and clean/replace jets if you want to. I don't remember it being like this on my xr70?

    Hello, I just bought a brand new Battery for my TTR90. Do I have to charge the new Battery before installing it or just replace. My buddy told me I have to charge it 1st, but not sure how and how long if that is the case. Thanks !!!!!!

    • @mattdobson123
      @mattdobson123  Před 9 lety +1

      I would throw it into the bike and ride it around for awhile.. let the bike charge it! But i've never replaced mine.. so I'm not exactly sure

      I read unless u upgrade your Exhaust system leave the stock Jets in. It won’t don’t anything as far as performance without a different exhaust and or different carburetor !

  • @chrisgopal3111
    @chrisgopal3111 Před 3 lety

    Hey quick ? My ttr 90 in nuetral when I rev it decel pops and when I put the choke fully on it chugs then dies . Is that normal or only use choke in winter ?

    • @silkcustoms520
      @silkcustoms520 Před 3 lety

      You need to clean the jets. The smallest piece of debris in one of those jets will make the Bike Bog out. Also, check the float bowl is springing back and set right. You shouldn’t have any problems with the choke after. Make sure your Air Box hoses are on tight and put a new filter in if it is dirty.
      I restored and rebuilt 2 of these TTR90’s. I still have a 2007 90.

      luis Gonzalez - It all depends on what you did to it.. I would suggest 95 for main and 15 for pilot.. any bigger and you risk running to rich or lean.. one of those.. lol.. but you can get from 12.5 -50 for pilot (12.5 is OEM) and from 80-180 for main (85 is OEM?)

    • @mattdobson123
      @mattdobson123  Před 8 lety

      +Ishmael Quintero - this bike is kind of hard because there is no clutch.. if you sit back far enough, and give it a little pull while hitting the throttle it can be done!

  • @koltonmcgowan2654
    @koltonmcgowan2654 Před 3 lety

    I have a ttr90 and it idles high a guy had a video about a ttr50 where he drilled a whole into the carb and popped this cap out so that he could get to the idle screw. Is there really a cap covering the idle screw or is there another reason it’s idling high. There throttle connectors don’t control the idle and there’s no idle screw showing so I figure it’s hiding behind the tiny cap

      Steven Mclaughlin - It is a pain to get to if you have big hands. Its on the opposite side of the open side. Its a knurled screw that can be turned with you fingers. The size of the screw/bolt is smaller than a dime, maybe the size of a the tip of your pinky finger.
