- I picked up a Yamaha Pw80 that didnt run. It was missing the kick stand, kick start lever, and some other items. I cleaned the carburetor and it fired right up!

Where do you get a seat cover like that? Looks awesome
Great video, easy to understand and lit well. A couple of suggestions… first, the air filter on a PW 80 needs to be saturated with two stroke oil and then squeezed out good so it’s damp, but not dripping wet. When you get them from Amazon, they’re dry, so make sure you dip it in two-stroke oil and then squeeze it out. Secondly, avoid push starting these bikes. Most of the time there’s not a problem, but sometimes you can blow the stator out and those suckers are $50-$300, depending on whether it’s a Chinese aftermarket, decent aftermarket or a Yamaha part. I have a friend whose teenaged son blew out two stators in a row push starting his bike. My sons have pushed started ours before, like if they killed it and just rolled it down a hill and push started it and we never had any problem, but after my friend’s kid blew out two in a row I told my kids to stop that. In the Thumper Talk forums other people have said they’ve blown out a stator as well push starting their PW80 bike so apparently it wasn’t just my friend that had a problem.
Thats strange. I have never heard of that hurting the stator. How would it hurt it?
Looking at your carb.. where did that Black hose on the left land at? 🤔
Is that a breather line or where dose that line go to ?
nice video! what is the standard float height of pw80 motorbike?
Nice video. I’ve been working on my sons PW80 and it wants to lunge when put in gear. I just swapped out the Chinese carb it had for an oem Mikuni and it’s running well and idles well, but for some reason jerks a bit when shifting if into first. Have you experienced this at all or any advice how to fix that?
If its jerking bad you could have a grooved clutch bell. but its an automatic so there is usually a little movement when you shift to first.
