Bless Robin Williams. He provided a great number of hours of raw ad-libbed lines for his role as the Genie that the creators couldn’t fit the entirety of them in the film.😅 Fortunately, there is some footage of said ad-libbed lines that weren’t used in the final cut that was released by Disney and they are hilarious!

For financial reasons, the studio went back on the deal on both counts, especially in poster art by having the Genie in 25% of the image, but having other major and supporting characters portrayed considerably smaller."

Aladdin's gotta be my favorite classic Disney movie, alongside Hercules and Atlantis
The sequels (especially The Return of Jafar) do have a noticably lower quality, as was usual back then, but personally I was never bothered by that, since I also loved to watch the TV series (which has about the same quality as the second movie and is supposed to take place right after it; unfortunately Robin Williams only voices Genie in movies 1 and 3, but in my opinion Dan Castellaneta still does a great job in The Return of Jafar and the series)
I'd say the sequels are worth checking out if you enjoy the characters and want to see where they go from here
Also little fun fact about the series- or rather the Disney's Hercules TV series: There's an episode called Hercules and The Arabian Night which as the name suggests is a crossover between Hercules and Aladdin and while it's sadly lagging in Genie-screentime, it is a lot of fun, especially with the villain team up it gives us
(chronologically it takes place after the third Aladdin movie btw)

    Fun facts about this movie:
Robin Williams was always the number one choice to play the genie. So much so that in order to convince Robin to play Genie the animators did story boards of the genie doing Robin’s comedy to convince him to take the role.
Later when recording for the movie, Robin did so much improve in the studio recording room that the animators knew they had to include it. So a lot of the stuff you see in the movie was just Robin doing improve.
You should look up behind the scenes stuff for Genie ideas that were not in the film.

Aladdin "used up" his second wish when Genie helped him out of the sea, as he wished for Aladdin and by taking his "nod" as a yes, he could grant the wish. In a sense Genie "manuipulated" his master to make a wish but it's just for he wanted to save him but couldn't do it unless he wished for it, as Al was unconcious.

As a middle eastern dude, this movie was THE only representation I had in my childhood in movies and media, and I fell in love with it. Still one of my absolute favorite movies to this day. Doesn’t help that I’m a hopeless romantic and a robin williams stan, so this movie is really the perfect Disney movie for me

Yeah Jafar was my favorite villain as a kid I always thought he was funny :D but when I got older I realised how rude he is to Jasmine and how gross it is that he actually has her as his slave for a while and calling her ”pussycat”. For some reason I didn’t see how gross he was before. Poor Jasmine. She’s like 15 or something and he is what, like 50? but he sure is a creepy villain and funny sometimes of course but also a really gross and mean man :/ like doesn’t he care that he is way too old for Jasmine :O he is sooo annoying but at the same time a great villain

Anyone else out there agree with me, or have a different Disney Princess they crushed on?

In case you're wondering why Robin Williams was perfect for this role is because the Genie was literally made to be played by him. In some behind the scenes stuff the creators said that they partially animated the Genie to some audio clips of some of Robin's comedy sketches to try to sell him on doing the role. They also admitted that if Robin had turned the role down, they had no idea who they were gonna consider for the role next.

16:58 - as someone that played the Mega Drive game for this a lot. That phrase makes me chilled to the bone.
These few cave of wonders levels, ESPECIALLY the carpet ride is a nightmare. I think the only thing considered harder is that damn monkey puzzle from the Lion King game.
I mean the games are good, and Aladdin looked pretty stylish in 16-bit. They were just really freakin' hard for younger kids back then. Worth having a go if you have the switch and an online account =)
