Loved the theory.. bas ek plot hole hai. When Reyliegh trained Shanks and shanks got to know about all the past and joyboy and nika fruit. He could have changed his dream of peace to freedom. But he didnt do that. And if that fruit was for ace why was it casually kept on bar to be seen by anyone. They must have done that for a reason.
Shanks don't know about One Piece. Maybe he does know about that devil fruit somehow but he doesn't know what is one piece.

I think joyboy is the devil of that hito hito no mi. Remember gorosei stated that zoan fruits have their own will so nika fruit also have its own will. And the devil of nika fruit is joyboy. In 800 yrs reason no one was given title of it coz the fruit itself declined that user and didnt awaken. Idk who was the first who nika actually acknowledged but after 800 yrs only luffy is the person nika actually acknowledged as his powerholder. Just like if u watched bleach then uk the hogyoku and it also has its own will. Aizen gained the power of it but its not easy to control the power of hogyoku. But hogyoku itself acknowledged aizen as its powerholder. He gained respect from hogyoku which has its own will and the reason aizen and hogyoku are one now and its become a part of it. Just like that i think nika respected luffy will and acknowleged him as his powerholder . Also remember the fruit awakened on its own luffy didnt do it. So i think the devil of nika fruit is looking for new joyboy for him and he acknowledged luffy. Luffy gained respect from nika.
