    When bleeding fuel on a duramax just crack the bleeder free and pump until fuel comes out of the bleeder consistently and then tighten it and it will start and stay running

    When I installed my lift pump I replaced all the steel lines from the tank to the engine bay because the braided line to the tank was leaking and the line running to the engine bay was looking rough from many years in minnesota and it's an 06 lbz so it has seen alot of winters.

    Tip of the day:
    Keep a screwdriver or wrench in your truck just in case you run out of fuel and you have to call your wife to bring you a Jerry can.
    I have an Airdog lift pump and it's REALLY easy to prime the fuel lines with that when I have something to open the bleeder screw.

    I have a 01 lb7 and noticed when I bought it had new fuel lines . Froze up on winter and I noticed those hard lines someone kinked them on install. I couldn't afford new lines so I bought fuel hose and cut kink out and spliced hose and clamps in were it was bad. Never had my truck gel up or not start again after.

    Sucks that Chevy doesn't go with stainless steel lines to begin with on these. Just did the lines on my 2008. Went with replacement lines from linestogo. Called them up, gave them my VIN and had them the next day. They have a flexible fuel line option for the last part that snakes up to the engine which makes that part of the swap out easier. Really happy with them.

In fact, it's happened to me 2 different times The first time was laziness and not changing the fuel filter for about twenty thousand miles Change the fuel filter reset the codes problem fixed. Ran probably about 3 or 4000 miles. Decided to go ahead and change the fuel filter again. Just to be safe so I didn't have to worry about it Got about 2800 miles out of the second filter. Then had to change it again. Still going so far. Stay away from Fram filters. And I have a 05 3500 dully

    I have a 2013 Chevy 2500 HD, 6.6 Turbo Diesel, slightly gave it gas to pass a car to make interstate exit, truck bogged and eventually shut off when rolling around the exit ramp,
    Primer bulb felt loose, replaced the fuel pump road side and tried to crank a few times but battery died. No check engine light, cuts off once fuel pressure is met as usual with first cutting on the ignition.
    My biggest concern is there was a good bit of metal shavings in the fuel filter, some bigger rusted flakes some smaller clean metal shavings but enough to be concerning.
    Seeing a lot about injection pumps from my research, definitely going to check all fuel lines while she’s down, I’ll start with bleeding any air out and repriming, don’t want to risk getting any metal in engine fuel components, can I trust the new fuel filter to catch that or should I look into flushing the lines and troubleshooting the pump before attempting to start anymore?

    Ey Josh,im looking at a 2008 LMM down here Australia,i seen you replacing head gaskets on the LMM on your other video,have these LMM trucks have head gasket problems ?

    • @TruckMaster

      You shouldn’t have to worry about head gasket problems on the LMM’s just emissions issues

    I don't know why GM doesn't use better fuel and brake lines. Those are the first two things I look at when I get a used GM vehicle. Very dangerous to have a brake line blow out that is corroded. Salt just eats them up.

    So I recently took my family 1600 miles round trip to Central Montana and had my fuel filter light come on a couple times and my tuner threw a code at me while passing slower traffic under load and it said fuel rail pressure low. I have a LML, I put a lift pump on it this last weekend and through advice of a local friend, parked it and ordered a Cp3 conversion kit, I did notice that one of the notes after I had placed the order for the cp3 kit said that if I am running a lift pump in tandem with the cp3 kit, I needed to make sure the PSI from the lift pump was no more than 2psi. It's a Fleece cp3 kit and I'm running a Fass titanium 100gph lift pump. Any words of wisdom on that? How do I change the psi if needed? I tried searching all over CZcams and can't find anyone mentioning this being an issue, so trust and hope are in you for some help brother!!

    I'm assuming the initial hesitation to shift was probably cause by the lack of fuel pressure before and then it finally seen full pressure and the taps was like wait hold up a sec here lol

    Update us on this as soon as u can... my lml has collapsed fuel lines right at the connection.... I thought it's supposed to be like that 🤦

    • @timAA205
      @timAA205 Před rokem

      Honestly it Probably fixed the problem. Starving an lml of fuel is deadly. Better replace it anyways regardless. Unless you wanna pay for the entire new fuel system when that cp4 blows up..

    • @ronniebenoit4081
      @ronniebenoit4081 Před rokem +1

      @timAA205 exactly.... I'm planning on cutting the flex fuel lines out and going with 1/2 steel... just on the flex braided lines. I'm from the south so the salt and rust isn't the issue... mud can be but,not real common down here. Thanks for all that you do. Im a Certified CZcams mechanic ..lol.

    I wanted to replace my fuel lines for my 2011 Crew Cab Long Bed Dually that run from the fuel tank on the driver side up by the transmission but they have been discontinued by everyone, Doorman , AC Delco ,GM themselves, lines to go , Inline tube . .I was referred to go to the junk yard but the defeats the purpose of going new and to stop collapsing fuel lines while under suction . Can the rubber be cut off my old tubes and new rubber with clamps be added for a new joint? What kind of fittings can be used to replace the old rubber fuel suction lines . Any leads would be help for or what can be done would help me too . Thank You

      Yes it would but it could just be your fuel filter is clogged or your fueo rail valve is bad and the spring in it is compromised. Check those areas as well. Very common
