We have 8 grandchildren, and we have re-enacted the nativity, three times, when the last three were born. Then in honor of our 50th anniversary, our daughters took the 8-grands, one out of high school, couple seniors, and so on into a barn and again portrayed the nativity again, and surprised us with our Christmas cards that year. Very fond memories. I enjoy your channel.

you don't see these true old homes anymore. I can remember living like that and that seems to be my fondest memories. When I saw how the bed was made up in the pink room, it made me have a smile because thats how we were made to make our beds and then tears came to my eyes because they were the good days. I remember putting fans in the windows to stay cool and you stayed home , cleaned and then you go to the garden to pick food to sit on the porch that night and shell beans, take a coffee can and put a rag in it, light it and let it smother to keep the bugs away while you snap the vegetables and talk about the good ole days! I just wished I could go back to those years. Thats what your house made me think of. Loved your home and thank you for sharing.
I'm so glad we could remind you of fond memories. We've spent many nights on the porch shelling peas. It is a wonderful lifestyle....a lot of work, but so rewarding. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season.

Thank you so much for sharing! We are in the middle of whether to renovate an 1800s home built by the grandfather or build another one. It would be an enormous task. I am torn. But like you said, "it makes it real". I watch your story and it brings me back to appreciate the old, the "slept here for over 200 years", and that it would be possible. Please continue to share your stories. I love your "old souls" and need it so much. All our parents are gone and I don't have that connection with anyone around me. This video made me cry. The baby in the manger scene was it. The family gathered around is priceless. Those that left the world before us are smiling on your homeplace.

What a beautiful house. The celebrations held there over the years must be epic!
I've had some sad days lately...just moved into a 1000 square foot single floor house. My daughter told me the days of hosting big family gatherings is over and it's her turn(she'getting the big farm house). I let myself cry about it when I was alone later since I'm moving slowly through the new stage of life. I'm in my mid 50's and I think it was a bit early to move into the little house but it was the only way the kids could have the big house so we went for it. I'm in Canada and the housing prices are through the roof and we're so happy we were able to offer the big farm house to our own kids.

Hard to believe you have owned this home just four years because it is so perfect for the both of you. Your souls are meshed with the history of each room. My favourite Christmas decoration is a nativity set ( plaster) from my childhood. Almost 70 years old. I love setting it up each year. More then a tree! Thank you for sharing your home and faith. There would not be a Christmas without Christ.

My family has grown so much so we have people in the living room and the dining room. The kitchen is tiny and the house is not open concept so there’s walls but I love it. I wish I had more room but it’s fine.
Families are happy to be together regardless of how much room there is. Sometimes it's more fun when it's more cozy. ☺️

Why can't the cat come in.He won't hurt anything.
We love Buddy the cat and we make provisions for him and the other farm cats. Truth is....he doesn't want to be inside. We had him in for a few visits and he scrambles to get outside. He doesn't want to be trapped inside. He patrols many acres and has free access to 5 out buildings including the barn where cats curl-up in the hay. They are dry and out of the wind....but they also chase mice, great fun. Our farm cats are active and healthy. He has his shots and all cats are neutered.
Kitty cat should be allowed inside…. I stopped watching after you said he doesn’t go inside you are cold…
Buddy is a very happy and cared for outside cat. There are several cats around the farm and throughout the neighborhood, but Buddy is the only one who is somewhat tame and will let us pet him. He has snuck into the house a few times, but quickly wants to get back outside. Buddy has access to all of the out-buildings as well as the barn. He has a special tote with a blanket in a garage but he actually prefers to sleep in the hay in the barn. We have a heated water bowl so he always has water in the winter. We didn't bring him to the farm.... He just showed up one day. He is the happiest when he's roaming the farm in search of a mouse to play with. He also has access to food ... Several neighbors have food out for all of the cats in the area. We take very good care of all the animals on the farm.
