Hello from New Zealand A good video, I have learnt so much. Thanks
Thanks....so glad you enjoyed it. We're still learning new things every day.
I just started watching your channel...got the recommendation from your cousin, Jane. So glad to check out all of your farm endeavors. Regards, Marie
So glad you found us. Say "hi" to Jane. 🙂
Wow! You grow so much! Wish I lived near you to come for a visit. Yum!
Thanks! My friends & neighbors do seem to enjoy the availablity of good, fresh produce. :)
Love the Garden..I’m on my 2nd turn on growing .. succession growing..pulled my red potatoes out and onions ..putting in melons.pumpkins and trying to regrow cucumbers
It’s SUPER HOT …Houston,Tx.🌱🌱🌱
That's great you can do that. Our growing season is too short to succession grow anything with a long maturing time. Best of luck... Enjoy all of the yummy fresh food. 😃
I LOVE ITT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks!!! I love it too. 😁
Your garden is amazing. Thank you for sharing this beauty with us. We have had no rain since the beginning of may here in the northern part of Germany as well. That is really horrible. Have nice harvest and also some rain soon. Lovely greetings. Madi
Thank you so much! We finally got 1/2 inch of rain a day ago. It's not nearly as much as we need, but it's better than nothing . I hope you soon get some rain!!!
I just found your channel and love how you shoot your videos! It’s great to have the conversation going and questions being asked and answered! I have learned so much! Thanks!
Edited to add: hyssop makes a yummy tea! It tastes like root beer to me!
I'm so glad you found us! Thanks for the hyssop tip! I'm just getting into herbal/floral teas and am experimenting to find teas/blends that I like. I'll definitely be trying hyssop. 🙂
Blue hubbards are delicious.
That's what someone else said. I had only ever heard them talked about as a trap crop. Now I'm going to hope the squash bugs leave them alone too so I can taste them. 😀
Cilantro seeds are the corander spice
Thanks for the info. A friend just gave me a bunch of coriander, but i could save some of the seeds so i have extra.
Love ❤️ your garden! Do you have trouble with chipmunks and squirrels?
Thanks!! No, we don't have any problems with chipmunks or squirrels....just rabbits and groundhogs. We have a good fence, but they still find a way in from time to time. Being on a farm there are a million groundhogs around. Between our farm and the 110 acre farm next to us, they are drawn to us like magnets.
Beautiful garden!!! Enjoyed the tour and it was very inspiring. Thank you for sharing. If I may ask, what type of netting did you use on your cabbages? Have a wonderful weekend.
Thanks so much! I got the netting from Amazon : www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01G79PIHM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 It's available in a bunch of different sizes. It's very strong. This is our third season using it and it is still in great shape.
@@waardenburgfamilyfarm4764 thank you. I do appreciate it.
Just beautiful!! Can you share your bug netting resource please?
Thanks! I got my netting from Amazon. It is available in various sizes. It's very 'sturdy'. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01G79PIHM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 This is the third season we've used it and it's still in great shape. It makes a HUGE difference. It really needs to be held down securely on the sides because if the pests can find a way in, they will. I just saw Colorado potato beetles on my potatoes this morning and realized there was a section open on the end of the row. Time for Neem oil and then tuck it in completely tight. Good luck!
I enjoy your videos Brenda and Don! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching! We're so glad you enjoy them. 🙂
Always love your videos💖 and to answer your question hubbard are delicious and are great keepers too!
Thanks!! If any of the Hubbard Squash survive, we'll give them a try. 😃
Grind the seeds from cilantro and you have coriander.
Thanks, I hadn't really thought of that.
What are those awesome looking bushes behind the compost piles? Are those native? Do they provide food for any pollinators? Are they the best bushes ever?
Those are spice bushes that my wonderful son transplanted from our woods. They are native and very pretty bushes.... that attracts spice bush swallowtails.
What state is your farm located? You don’t have any accent, so you must live “out west”. CB I just subscribed to your channel. I’m from Idaho!
We are in Pennsylvania. The only thing people sometimes pick up in our speech are some Pennsylvania Dutch words/phrases. We're glad you found us.
Do you have hot and spicy oregano? It is really good…and it is spicy!
No, I've never heard of that, but will have to try to grow some next year. Thanks for the tip.
So that drip tape. Do you know where you bought that from? And do you like it? I’m having a baby this summer and trying to get my garden to be a little more manageable. Also thinking about putting down a weed mat.
We get our drip tape from a local produce supply company. The brand is Irretec Q9 Drip tape. In the garden we use tape with 6" spacing. It does a great job keeping the plants evenly moist. There are a lot of different brands out there that are very good. Once you use irrigation, you'll never go without it. It saves a lot of time that you would spend hand-watering.
PS..congatulations on the new baby.
@@waardenburgfamilyfarm4764 thank you! I’m definitely going to try it this year. Another question do you get your garden hoops for your cabbage and broccoli off Amazon? And where are your trellises from?
@@Tayheiman the hoops are actually made from wire fences that we removed and the trellises are from an old corn crib that we tore down. Sorry I can't give you a good source for those.
@@waardenburgfamilyfarm4764 love how you reuse!!
Hi! Where do you buy your netting?
I bought it on Amazon. It's mosuiteo netting. You can get it in a variety of sizes. It REALLY works great for things that don't need pollinated. Here's a link to the one I use. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HYRLUKA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

Thank you so much!
What do you use for hoops for the netting? I want to cover my Brussels sprouts and broccoli so the hoops need to be high. Is there a site to buy some hoops?
