Linus vs Dennis wasn't exactly fair, so this time Jake is going to see if he can do a better job than Linus when it comes to virtually building computers in the new and improved PC Building Simulator 2.

hi

no thanks
I was actually wondering if we’d get some gameplay/review from this game haha
Epic bad.
I thought for sure Linus's third favorite thing was gonna be "telling you about our sponsor"
He missed a great opportunity
The video is the sponsor.
This comment is hilarious he definitely missed the plug

it's nice seeing Linus have so much fun with his dad
omg wow- I am take aback.
@@ziwuri I thought that was his husband.
@@Zinic_ wouldn't fault you for thinking that
😂
@@Zinic_ I thought Jake was Linus' child. Or Yvonne's other husband. The LCU (Linus Cinematic Universe) is getting weird.
Finally Linus can build PCs without dropping stuff.
Well… he still has a mouse to drop
Next thing they update the game with random QTEs to avoid dropping things.
PC Building Simulator 3: featuring character stats.
Need Intelligence to understand how to build computers.
Need Dexterity to not drop or break stuff.
Need Strength to lift stuff, works together with Dexterity to decide if you drop it or not.
Need Charisma to better promote your shop and more successfully rip people off (and maybe get discounts on PC parts).
So you can have lower Intelligence and build not so technically cool / intricate computers, but have high Charisma and persuade people to buy them for a good price.
@@cjnf11 Just like real life.
@@grn1 just like the sponsor
I want to see a build in this get benchmarked in the game and see how it compares to the real thing. It'd be really cool to see how close the calculated performance in-game is to actual hardware.
I did that in real life with the first PC simulator. I built the PC I was using, then ran the benchmark in game. Then ran the bench mark irl. Real life score was much higher.
@@jamescannon2587 If this is confirmed, might use this as an actual simulator if I want to upgrade
My cinebench was slightly higher than the game with exact PC build.
I wanted to do that with my build, but somehow none of my components (at least the exact ones) are in the game. Still very fun though.
Maybe in PC Building Simulator 3 we can build a PC inside an instance of PBS3 inside a PC running in PBS3 inside a PC in PBS3 inside a PC in PBS3
I love how Linus is playing on a nice PC with headphones and a Monitor and Jake is playing on a laptop. That's how a real boss does their job.
Yet, still lost. Just shows the best hardware doesnt always win, Lol
Can't tell from your comment who's the boss.
That laptop was one of the world's fastest gaming laptops in the world but yeah, still true.
Lol i have a gaming laptop and it doesnt really matter what you play on; as long as you have fun
@@Duvstep910 my most recent gaming laptop is the Steam Deck, and it fucking rules, man!
I wanna see you build a PC in the game and then match the parts IRL, let's see just how realistic this is.
Niiiiiceeeeeeeeeee. Keen
Best Idea
I want to see someone who doesn't build pc's (but games) use the game to faceoff with linus using the same parts in real life.
That would be awesome
10/10 idea
I love how most of the points they focus on are in the first version.
Yeah, I caught that too. Watching this, I think that the better part of the 2nd version is more modern tech. I was kinda disappointed by the parts limits in the first PC Simulator.
@@jamescannon2587 sums it up pretty well.
@@jamescannon2587 There's barely even more modern stuff yet.. PCBS1 already has 3090ti and 6900XT, i9 12700ks etc. The "new" things are LIAN LI UNI fans and a Fractal Torrent lmfao (not even torrent compact/nano). But I assume they'll keep adding parts to this while losing support for the first game.
Yea it's more of a reaction to PCBS in general than to the second game.. which is a disappointing upgrade at best.
@@kujiyt6196 PBS2 is set up to be able to add new parts into the game as they come out. I am sure we will see more content like AM5 and Raptor Lake. But not the same 4080 because that got "unlaunched"
Would love to see an LTT addon for that game: Screwdriver, Deskpad and maybe a new building format called "Alex's challenges" where you are building super whacky cooling constellations for overclocking scores
And maybe an event where Dennis breaks through your ceiling
i think you meant contraption instead of constellations
@@PowerPuffBoysZ na. I like the ridiculousness of calling what Alex does "cooling constellations"
It oddly makes sense 😂
If they did that (particularly the Alex's challenges) I would definitely buy it, though with how ridiculous those can be (in the best way) it might be a lot more work than it sounds :P still, if they do, that'd be awesome!
"Here's a bunch of tubes, three gallons of water and NSFW power supply. Go cool me i12"
Not gonna lie, that sounds fun :D
Because I don’t have enough money to build my own PC, this will be perfect. The only issue is that I need a PC to play this game.
Lol
😂
Lmao
Maybe one day I will afford a gaming PC don't know about the chair, desk and monitor. :(
I know that pain. Luckily I have the first one on my Xbox lol
I love this game! There's a music app on the tablet so you can change the music. And I love that when you're doing a project for the first time, it will do a tutorial, even simple tasks. I love how much more there is to do compared to the first one.
A DATA CENTER simulator would be awesome as well!
if they don't let you roll dice to see who has to sit through backups on sunday i won't play it

WASNT THE ROAST ENOUGH FOR YA
You know what's funny. Now that the screwdriver has launched and been so successful you can tell how less stressed Linus is now. Lol.
The backpack aswell. I can only imagine how much of a high one would get after effectively assuring that a multi-million investment is gonna be worth it
@@Mystikus2 yea that's right. I'm sure their bottom line is looking really good for this year.

@@MajorMokoto I bet the two years prior to this one don't look quite so hot lmao the backpack, the screw driver, an entire new building with new employees and management, etc. The company expenses have probably been approaching break even for awhile now, and it probably went back up to a good margin once both products released
@@GlorifiedGremlin not to even mention that he bought and renovated an older home and upgraded all of the tech so there were always cameras and people all over his house. Normal moving is stressful enough.
Our boy has had a time.
And now, almost a year later, Linus has his own studio in game.
Really??? :O
Yes you can now decorate with full blown LTT theme that looks sick
10:32 The mounting trays could also be removed in the first game. The first game also has the feature with that the case slides when you rotate the camera, EXACTLY like the 2nd game.
This sim is not just handy for beginners in real life, it can be challenging for experienced ones given how tough it can turn out if not given proper attention to customer demands...
Haven't played PCBS2 but in the first one it was always pretty straight forward. Customers pretty much always said what was broken, partpicking was rarely a challenge, but gameplay was fun for a PC building game.

I support adding Arlo to the game. It would add a layer of complexity by showing people the stuggle of building a PC with your cat getting in the w...helping you out!
Arlo: Yo dawg, what you doin'? Building a PC? Nah, look at me. Look at Arlo. I'm just gonna lay on your work surface. Don't ask where the thermal paste go. Just a secret between you and me, I knocked it on the floor.

Arlo: *Hops into new play box while human isn't looking*
Human: Right, now I'll just set the motherboard in to the ca......ARLO!!!
I have been through some trouble the past week trying to upgrade my new gaming rig and cleaning my old one in order to sell it. I was replacing my graphics card's thermal paste the other day and put the heatsink back together... when I realized I forgot the plastic square shield that goes around the card's processor (almost cried, lol). But forgetting to apply thermal paste? That's on a whole other level, Jake. Keep these videos coming, they are so much fun!
Just got it and was absolutely blown away by how in-depth it is and the attention to tiny details no one would ever notice
PCBS 2 is a great game for scalper training!
Piece of Crap BullShit 2 :D
But PCBS one was already that. Sorry, the game hasn't changed at all. Anybody who pays 20 bucks for just an update... is quite stupid.
Epic Games
Bringing console exclusivity to PC gaming
Imagine if PC building simulator 3 would become a Playstation exclusive, the irony. Fuck Epic Games.
I'm so glad I find most Epic games shit so I've never had to install that crappy application.
except u can just dl the launcher
Yep, in my opinion, if it is only on epic games then it hasn't launched on pc yet.
Like Ubisoft with Ubisoft Connect?
Like EA with Origin?
Like Rockstar with Rockstar Launcher?
Some make it even worse: You buy the game on Steam and STILL need Connect/Origin to run it
Dont get me wrong, i would love to buy all my games on Steam. Not because Steam is good or something, but most games i have there.
But done play like we had no exclusivity before.
PS: Yes, Epic Games Launcher is pure shit. Don't get me wrong.
Can we please get this as a series pitting various LTT staff against each other? There could even be a tournament and everything!
The funniest part is that in the most recent update to the game they added LTT stuff.
I love the first one, got all achievements, played for hours.
Yet, I’m not buying this game even if it comes to steam. F*** exclusivity deals, release them at the same time.

Same here, f*** exclusivity deals.
@@Raphael_Campos sadly, it is not a exclusivity deal, EPIC has recently bought the parrent company of the publisher, the Dev here had probably no say in it at all.
Not that that should make you buy it... just fyi.
So you don't like free games I guess.
@@helloukw They're free because they're on a platform everyone hates because it's poorly developed and maintained. For the love of God it took them over a year to add a basket to their store. Just inexcusable. I had to uninstall the app because it was stopping me from launching Elden Ring for some ungodly reason for the first couple of days a well documented bug at the time.
This would be a great tool to use if you were planning to build a PC and want to test part compatibility. Imagine exporting a build from PCPartPicker into this game and being able to rotate around it, test different CPU coolers and cases to make sure the side panel will close, GPU clearance, etc.
Not sure if I would quite trust this game enough to do that, but you make a good point nevertheless.
If this game is that accurate, I actually might be able to finally build my next PC.
Literally one of the reasons I’m considering getting this game.
Think about the educational value this game provides as well. Like, honestly, if I ever wanted to try something new like water cooling, maybe I'd refer to this before even a CZcams guide
And then the customers in the game use their powerful gaming PCs to watch Linus on youtube
is this a personal attack or something?
To play OSRS.
@@kishascape I had to stop for awhile when I got my build. No way I was going to spend a few thousand to play a game that runs fine on a 15 year old low end pc
The radiator fan isn't backward. Its intaking air into the shell and you put a case fan that exhaust the air out the back.
The Hyte Y60, the case that Linus used in free build, only allows vertical mounting for GPUs. I watched some of my colleagues build in that case
Aw, I wanted to see if Dennis learned a few things since the last time he played PC Building Simulator.

Epic Games Store exclusive means it’s essentially not out yet. I’ll check it out in a few years when it releases on a real platform store.
Shame Epic has to go the route of forced exclusives, even if only timed, instead of letting people pick where they want to get games, skipped quite a few games because of it.
Epic games bought irregular Corp, so what did you expected...
Epic Games is making the industry a worse place by holding IPs hostage and forcing people to use a sub par service
Literally nobody asked for the EGS and we would all be happy if it went the way of Stadia
sea ya on the sea's me hearty! an epig exclusive is a never buy for me
It is a real platform store, and it is out. Stop trying to make distinctions already because you dislike the store.
If anyone needs to know the original title of the video, it was: I Scammed Customers in Pc Building Simulator 2!
I've played it a bit, and it's a pretty fun game. There aren't as many increases in detail and immersion over the previous game as Linus is suggesting (Case customization is the only big one, but thermal paste, watercooling, and memory overclocking have all gotten a bit better), but that's because the first game was already great in those aspects. The biggest improvements for me have been quality of life features and more aesthetics options. The option to sell your own PCs in the storefront seems cool, but it just seems to be based on the cost of the parts and if you've done some customization, not on performance, which leads to an "optimizing the fun out of the game" situation. It's relatively fun if you can avoid doing that, but money seems a little too easy to get regardless. The tutorials are absolutely terrible, but once you get past them you can multitask, which makes it fun,
I had a pair of 7900GX2's back in the day, and technically they did use a single PCIE bridge between the cards (if you don't count the internal bridge between the 2 PCBs on each card)
you should do a follow up where you get 2 teams and someone makes a computer in game and the 2 teams need to make it in real life as close to possible.
That is... That is an amazing idea.
You could do it both ways. Recreate builds from the game irl, recreate builds from real life in the sim, all kinds of different formats... The possiblities are endless, and we would happily watch every second of it.
Thanks Linus’ beard.

Im kinda curious if you wormy your hardline tubes so your water cooled system is complety filled to the brim with tubes, increasing the amount of water in it; does that hurt or help performance?
I was expecting Linus to hand his customers their PC, but let go of his hands and dropped them instead.
Love to see some quality father and son time
could you imagine if the prices in-game were accurate to help new pc builders figure out what to get at a reasonable price
Those are probably business class prices for computer shops, so they don’t really reflect consumer available prices. You bet that the card you buy from microcenter does not cost that much to microcenter.
I kinda wish it had somewhat accurate benchmark numbers so you could test your pc before buying the parts when it comes to performance
Did they really need to make it a whole new game just to allow us to disassemble graphics cards?
And an EGS exclusive one :(
And watercool RAM as well as motherboards, OC RAM properly. New software too like cine bench, wormy and fall guys Inc more updated 3d marks

i used to use pcbs1 as a rough idea of what a pc build would look like so i cant wait to play with the second one! Hoping their parts selection is a bit more expansive than the first!
There's LESS parts. And barely anything newer than PCBS1. I guess they'll keep adding parts like they did with the first game, but dropping updates for PCBS1?

after spending over 500 hours in the first one and playing the beta I was so excited this finally came out. One of the features I liked was when you install a program you no longer have to restart the computer each time between installs.
As somebody in a similar position (only 100 hours in, but still played the old beta) I've been thoroughly underwhelmed with the amount of mistakes in the game that remained for so long, and disappointed that they sold out instead of fixing the game. This looks like a cool premise but I still see a couple of the glaring mistakes that made me lose interest in the first title.
Good to see somebody else had better luck finding joy in the game, though.

If they could import my list from pcpartpicker so I could see what my build will look like before I buy it, that would be a killer feature...
Regardless of whatever happens with LTT/LMG and everything else, I see Linus and Jake being BFFs into eternity. Those two will be walking on beaches, holding hands in their old age 😂💜
In the original game, there a things you can buy that let you automatically take out all the screws and other thing for plugging in all the cables.
That's still a thing in this game. It's $2000 and you can afford it within the first month in-game
Super entertaining! I can't believe they actually show the real 3D mark benchmark in the game...
It’s simulated not real
It's a cool game, but overall, it feels like a PCBS 1 DLC... They added the ability to mod a GPU with a water block and they added thermal imaging (which was horribly inaccurate in the beta)... I dunno if it's worth to get the sequel when I already have the original. Because the overclocking, water cooling, adding and removing individual parts and such, it was all in the original.
Also, when running Time Spy or the OCCT stress test, you can hit to do other stuff while waiting for your results haha. You don't have to just watch the screen
I will buy it just for the new hardware. All the new cases and stuff. ( I probably did everything in PCBS1 )
Jake, after a few levels you can automate the cable connections…at least you could in the first one.
Also the bit where he said that he scammed a customer. He was just getting reimbursed for the cheap GPU he picked plus the promised labor pay.
Yes you can in this one too, all the same shortcuts are there. Clicking individual cables to power on the PC is the worst. Close second is making me unscrew each individual standoff, even when I'm replacing with an identical motherboard.
It works on steam deck installed via heroic and using proton ge 7.37, but only in desktop mode so far.
I was hoping to see a benchmark within a benchmark
I remember the first one being janky like a "simulator" game, this is actually really cool. I might actually get this in order to show my friends how to build a PC!
I wouldn't say "janky", more like arcady.
What are y'all raving about? Most of these features were in the first game.
That’s the case I have. The Hyte Y60. It’s a sweet case, love it. But it does limit if you want to add anything else PCI wise, except one graphics card.
I love the new drinking game of every time Linus mentions the screwdriver you take a shot.
you guys should totally redo these PCs IRL and compared them to how they looks in the game, maybe a part 2? :D
very good idea
I'm honestly very interested in how the benchmarks of the real versions of these systems measure up to the in-game ones
Great idea, +1, would also check how accurate the simulated 3D Mark scores are 😁
@@Kathlanus ...essentially benchmarking the game by benchmarking setups IRL? Wow.
@@Kathlanusnot accurate at all.
If the radiator is on the front of the case I would think you would want to blow that hot air out, not in across all the components you just cooled.
Kind of, kinda not. Depends on your priorities. If the radiator is only cooling your cpu and your only problem temp is your CPU, giving it the coolest possible air while also using the same airflow to cool the rest of the build is a valid strategy. Especially so if there's a secondary intake in the bottom for example and then an exhaust at the top/back. Personally I'd avoid using a radiator as an intake if possible but I also wouldn't want to push the hot air out from front which would in my setup be uncomfortable. I'd rather not roast myself.
Front Intake is fine for temps, if your radiator is in front and you’re using it as exhaust you’ll end up with negative pressure, reducing rad efficiency.
@@datatravelleri I turn around my pc to get hot exhaust during the winter. It feels nice during gaming sessions in cold nights

Jokes aside, getting the LTT desk mat, screwdriver, and water bottles (maybe even stickers?) in the game would be a baller move. Heck make a creator pack and through in Jay, Bitwit, GN, Craft Computing, Paul's Hardware, as well. And if you add raspberry pi builds, you can add Jeff G as well.
Great stuff.
Why raspberry pi builds? I have a server at home with banana pi. But stiil can't see the point.
A GM mod mat would be really sweet in this game. But yeah if they're going to do LTT they should do all the major CCs.
The first pc building simulator was actually super useful to see the size of parts before you buy them in real life like whether your radiator and graphics card will fit in the case you chose since pcpartspicker can’t determine size compatibility.
It can, just not with everything. Basically, it might say that a part won't fit, in which case that's true. But if it doesn't give you a warning, it may or may not actually fit.
lol, I went the other way around using pc partpicker to see if my PCBS builds would work.
nothing is more heartwarming than father-son game time...
Its so cool that you guys managed it to put your stuff in this game! So sick 👌🏾
A lot of the stuff you were blown away by was in the first game; the pc turning on the table as you move around it, the hardline tube bending, etc.
Only thing I’m seeing in this game is a little more in depth thermal paste application. Doesn’t live up to a whole new game in my opinion 🤔
You can now tear down and build water-cooled GPUs, water-cooled RAM, Water cooled motherboards, mini games hidden inside, there's a lot to the new game
I agree, not enough new to shoe horn me into using Epic Launcher when Id rather not, but I considered it because I enjoyed the first one so much.
First time Linus hasn’t dropped something while building a pc.😂
