    This looks lot easier ( even tho its very little space!) than another video I just watched - guy said had to remove boost pipes, rad pipes & alternator! Would have been quicker to move from to service position!

  • @PVflying

    Good video thanks. So no need to put the car into service position or pull the front bumper off?

    • @wawayltd
      @wawayltd  Před 6 lety

      Yes, that's just auxiliary belt or, as they call it - serpentine belt. If you do the cambelt that's a different story, I have a video about that, too.

    • @wawayltd
      @wawayltd  Před 6 lety

      It's held by single bolt from the back, underneath alternator

      You might have a different engine. I think that in 2009 they started changing from PD engines to common rail.

    Hi. How to change tensioner? Need to remove alternator to get room?

    • @wawayltd
      @wawayltd  Před 7 lety

      The manual I have says - you don't need to remove alternator. Apparently you can access it like that, but for some reason it says to remove top cambelt cover and air intake pipe for air filter box.. Alternator actually is pretty easy to remove (I think I would remove alternator). I have a video how to remove alternator:

      The bolt for tensioner is on the back (opposite side to roller), tightening torque 23 or 25 Nm

    Hello, How many km do I have to change the timing belt on my Audi A6 2.0TDI Avant 2010,Now my car 180000, please help me.

    • @wawayltd
      @wawayltd  Před 4 lety

      VAG has different manuals which make no sense to me. I had 2005 Audi A6 2.0tdi - I was told every 100K or 5 years whichever comes first. Now I have Sharan 2.0tdi and it says 225K or 5 years.
      In my experience after 100K looks almost like new. Maybe that's because I drive a lot and it does get old. I don't know.
      I replace my cambelt every 150-160K kilometres or about 100K miles.
      If I was you - I would definitely replace it. Not only because of the mileage, but because that cambelt is likely more than 10 years old!
