She's getting bitten by gnats.....they ate driving her and the chicks crazy. I actually think by keeping the chicks in the nest and throwing straw over the chicks, Mom thought she was helping them be free of gnats. Only thing is, it was no doubt like a compost heap in that nest....terrible. 🐤🐣
