  • With the growing number of new Chinese vehicles entering the automotive industry, it has become evident that China is taking a lead in this sector. However, China aims to demonstrate more than just increased production numbers. Recently, China unveiled one of the best cars, defying the common perception that Chinese cars lack in design, performance, and quality. The new car, named the "Zeekr 007," has surprised many with its impressive performance, fast acceleration, unique design, high-quality materials, and affordable price tags.
The 2024 Zeekr 007 starts at $29,000 for the enhanced rear-wheel-drive trim, while the highest performance model costs $41,500. Consider how much this car would cost if it were made by a Western automaker or bore the badge of one of the world's top car makers. Prices would likely start at $55,000 and above. Zeekr is a premium electric vehicle brand owned by Geely Automobile Holdings, focusing on producing and selling luxury electric vehicles primarily in Western countries, as well as in China. The Zeekr 007 is developed and produced in both Sweden and China under the leadership of German car designer Stefan Sielaff, who previously worked with Audi and Mercedes before joining Zeekr.
The Zeekr 007 competes against the Tesla Model 3, the new Xiaomi SU7, Hyundai Ioniq 6, and other electric cars in the same class.

When i look at a Tesla, it always reminds me of something ceramic on wheels. Now i know its a toilet on wheels, especially when it comes in white.

If Zeekr cars can pass the quality test of time, says 2 years of consumers day to day operations, it will eat Tesla lunches and dinners.
But you have to wait for some times.

yup as you said the test of time. In Australia here lots of older teslas running around and I very much doubt if these Chinese cars will last that long.

Best go to Guangzhou and asked how long EVs have been in use, first EV was introduced for cab use in 2006 if remember correctly...
Southern China cities up to Hangzhou near Shanghai have the longest experience w EVs, including city buses

Geely owns Volvo, minimally I’d expect the reliability to be as good as a Volvo. Zeekr is premium version, in all likelihood it’d surpass Volvo in all aspects.

My jaguar XJL has a range of 570 miles, 3 minutes of fueling, paid off at 41K. If you want something great in the United States of America that china already has, highspeed bullet train technology which is also, (fully electric). Reaching speeds of up to 250 mph, range unlimited and something the mighty United States of America should of had decades ago. Keep the EV...
