    Fuckin badass. Jeff and the atelier have made me start trying traditional in the last few weeks and i’m loving it. So true what he’s saying about traditional feeding into digital: drawing & painting traditionally really forces you to think ahead and pay more attention, therefore learning a lot more each session than I would with digital. I’d say do both.

    Wonderful to hear you're teaching the Reilly rhythm method.
    * Does this course include any head anatomy?
    * Do you have a website with what is & isn't included, including any additional samples?
    * Does the Reilly rhythm include the elusive figure or... just the head (front, side, quarter, views)?
    * Is the course available outside of Proko store?
    ...
    Oddly, Stan/Proko, did NOT include the head in his anatomy course (which is also incomplete - yup, waiting years & some lessons are still missing material).
    ...
    I said oddly because, it's weird the head wasn't included. I'm sure a Iot of folks, assumed the head would be included. I know I did before reading the fine print (so to speak).
    ...
    Can you imagine buying a artist's anatomy book & it didn't include the head?!?
    ...
    I liken the head not being included, in a artist anatomy course (video, book or otherwise), to being a kid & getting a GI Joe action figure, with all the guns, body armor & helmet but, no head.
    ...
    Craziness!

    • @cap3423
      @cap3423 Před rokem +8

      Only time will tell for now. AI art is legally troubling and has a real artificial look to it, but it could be the choice for most companies and people who want art cuz its almost free. However, the human aspect to having people draw could be what keeps AI away. Kinda like how Vinyl records are still relevent despite their age.

    • @Lessulie1
      @Lessulie1 Před rokem +7

      Not really, AI art is near useless for concept art, comics, and animation. It's mostly affecting illustration, but even then human artists still give better results. However some clients don't care about "better", they just want "good enough", so commission sales will be affected.

    • @asimian8500
      @asimian8500 Před rokem +4

      @@Lessulie1 AI art steals artists' works, but I completely disagree about being "near useless". It's already being used for concept art, design, thumbnails, comics, and (soon) animation doing in-betweens and generating complete animation based on key frames. Companies will always pick cheaper and good enough. An AI never takes sick days and never complains and is significantly cheaper. Serious advantages over flesh-and-blood. It's advancing so quickly that it will put most animators, artists, and designers out of business. It's going to replace many people doing accounting, marketing, and many other jobs (AI similar to Chat GPT). In the near future, unless you're at the top of the field, you can easily be replaced with AI (plumbers and other "blue collar" trades will have more time)

    • @Lessulie1
      @Lessulie1 Před rokem

      @@asimian8500 it's true that AI is being used for menial work (in in-between frames has been a thing for years) in companies. Even I can't really tell the extent of its influence that clearly. All I'm saying is, with the AI's current implementation (coming fro a computer science grad who's also a self taught artist), their quality of work is nowhere close to the quality of humans. This is especially true for idea generation; current AI doesn't have the ability to think critically and reason. It's like a really bad google search; it amalgamates a bunch of things it thinks you want without really understanding anything. Of course, this may be enough for some types of work, and sadly some jobs will be replaced. But I think to achieve good results, artists need the ability to think critically and come up with good ideas that fit the client's needs, and also address feedback. That's something that AI is still far from, so all I'm saying is, if you're serious about art and want to strive to become the best, not just some "good enough" artist who can create pretty pictures, then AI shouldn't be (much) of a worry....for now lol.

      There've always been other artists who make work "better", "faster" or for cheaper than you. AI is just another thing like that.
      Make art because you want to share your vision. For the joy of making something. Or just for fun. It's not all doom and gloom just because there's another bit of competition out there.
