One thing that's warmed me to Jimmy, who didn't initially like much, is that he always leaves room for other people's laughs, even when he's the target.

@@dielaughing73 I was lucky enough to see one of the shows being recorded. Jimmy was surprisingly nice to everybody, and apologised for the shit the scriptwriters had him say to Suzie. It was good to see the work behind the magic. Everybody seemed to be having a great time.
His team writes the put downs. Whenever he slams Susie or Rachel they've been asked if it's OK well beforehand, when they clap back to him savagely that's written for them because he first and foremost likes taking the piss out of himself.

I think the secret ingredient is that the "quite frankly Jimmy" is such an ambiguous lead in.
The fact he openly discusses his hair transplant, openly admits and gets ridiculed for his tax "practices". You just have to admire the man, he isn't pretending to be someone he isn't.
To be fair in his line of work the more you avoid would make the other comedians more savage

I guess the transplamt was rather freshly done. It will probably will grow longer and he will go back to the old style in some way.

if he were a normal man i dont think anyone would really bat an eye at before and after pictures, but because hes famous and we've seen him so much its extra jarring! the transplant is very well done and natural looking, it just sure isint what we're used to lol. the very cropped style doesnt suit him quite as well as a slightly floppier look though, so i think most of the oddness will go away as his hair grows out. though as a guy who is losing a lot of hair at 21... i gotta say i wish i could afford his surgeon lol

I like that Jimmy can take it as much as he gives.
Three things:
1. RIP Sean. The world will miss how sharp a wit he had.
2. Jimmy absolutely looked better before the transplant.
3. People say what they want about Jimmy, yeah he comes off as crass a lot. But he actually takes burns very well and can even lean into it even more. Never above digging himself even a bit deeper. He never puts on pretenses that he didn't get the hair transplant or get his teeth done, like when the audience awwed at Rob's comment. And his acknowledgment of the Benedict Cumberbatch line shows how he's always game to be put down for the laugh. I actually really appreciate it.
I must use 'berk' more often... and follow it with a knowing smile.
The "why'd the chicken cross the road? 'Cuz your mum's fat!" (with the fake Jimmy laugh) is such a timeless joke/moment.
