Which microphone do you prefer? Comment below! Both mics are running into a pair of Neve 88RLB preamps, straight into an Apollo x8p. @TheRoseMusicBoxx was about 8 inches away from the mics while recording.

B was the clear winner, however if you want that add 1k extra lol.
A sounded stuffy. B almost sounded processed, which is a good thing to me.
Nice! Thanks for watching!
Another great video!!! ❤
Thank you very much!!! Great performance as always! 🤗❤
B has more texture it’s clear
Thanks for watching!

I want to upgrade my mic i have behringer b1 wich one is better neumann tlm 102 or avantone cv 12 ??
@@TheSlim1 I think the CV-12 sounds better than the TLM 102. TLM 102 has a fizzy, grainy top end that sounds less smooth than a TLM 103 from clips I have heard. CV-12 has a smooth full sound even 1ft away from a vocalist.
@@subtonic24 cool so i will go with cv 12

Mic B needs more correction to sound pro. Mic A has a compression that is natural to the listener and will sound more “pro” to a consumer
Thanks for watching and providing your input!
B sounded a bit better and richer
Thanks for watching!
Mic A sound way better mic B Vocals cutting threw too harsh
mic b but mic a can still sound good depending on the song
Thanks for watching!
A
Not a fair comparison. Tube is adding coloration to the CV-12 signal.
This tube is adding absolutely nothing to the signal. This is a transparent tube and she is nowhere near loud enough to even start introducing harmonics.
@@subtonic24 well something else is adding coloration to the signal
Well the avantone and the TLM have different frequency response graphs, the CV-12 has a bit more low end (rolling the lows off at around 50hz and the TLM rolls off at about 70hz). The cv-12 also has boosting @ 50-80hz, 150hz-300hz, 550hz-750hz, 1.5khz-5khz, and 7khz-15khz. The TLM is a pretty flat response with just 1 big boost from 4khz-18khz pretty much. So although the TLM is a very clean airy sound, the CV-12 is more rich in the mid-range with a bit of that crisp high end.
I’m a Neumann type of guy tho 😂 I’ve never owned a CV-12 but it looks like a pretty good mic.
Which is the avantone a or b?
Watch the whole video dude lol
The answer is at the end of the video.
B
