I believe there are 30 churches in total but not all give service cause a couple are in ruins, during holy week its a Guatemalan Custom to visit all of them on foot and listen to Mass.
Antigua has everything to make tourists super happy, the good weather, the fountains, the markets, the colors and also the people who look nice, thank you for showing us this beautiful place and especially for your explanation 👍

I'm so glad you guys enjoyed my hometown of Antigua. I used to take groups of students from college to learn Spanish for a month. It is a great place to live, relax and learn Spanish.
Oh nice! We saw many people studying Spanish around town and some schools. There was one right by Iglesia Merced.

Yeah!!! Southern Mexico and western Guate share the same culture, before the Spanish invasion, that region was united, no borders then…!!!! Tabasco, Chiapas and Soconusco, was part of Guatemala, but Mexico negotiated its acquisition, and all that land became part of Mexico…!! But the culture sort of remains the same…!!!!
I fell in love with Zacapa 23 rum at a restaurant in the Zocalo of Puebla, Mexico. Now I order it frequently when in Latin America, neat also.

I went to Guatemala a couple weeks ago and the people there are so so kind. I definitely recommend going if you are thinking about it. The peace of God is definitely there and Guatemala is such a beautiful country

I was there this this past fall. It's one of my absolute favorite towns I've ever been to. You wouldn't expect it, but the restraunts and bars all have so much character when you look inside them.
Not to mention, having a beer on a terrace at night with an active volcano just happening to go off is such a unique experience.
Enjoy lake atitlan when you head there.

I first lived there for a year from 1992-1993 and did a big art exhibit in a new gallery El Sitio on the same block as La Bodegona, that had just sold when I returned 29 years later this year for 3 months in 2022 from July 13-October 5. I loved your video and will visit places I had not been to the next time I’m in Antigua. You guys are awesome! I wrote a pilot for my second TV series in the most beautiful Starbucks, maybe in the world? Happy Travels you guys! ❤️💜

Chiapas was a part of the Central American Union, but when it started to break up it requested to rejoin the Mexican Federation, a region of Guatemala called Peten also requested joining Mexico some years later but since it was a part of Guatemala it wasn't even considered.

Hi guys! Thank you so much for portraying our Latin American beautiful countries in a way that most everyone can understand and empathize with. Yesterday my husband and I, (husband is an Irish, light brown haired man with semi-long beard, long hair, green eyes, super-white man, and I'm a Chicana/ Mexican-American woman) walked into a bar (Lol,) it was a biker-type bar with nothing but white people in there. Inspite of me begging him not to, he put Vicente Fernandez's "Volver, volver," song in the jukebox because he and I both love that song, it's our song.. but anyways, one of the women employees at the bar yells out, "Who put on that guacamole?!"" I tried in a nice way to explain the beautiful words that the song was saying but she kept on laughing with the other bar tender about that "guacamole," song. I thought to myself that she must obviously not get out much, likely has not gone out of her comfort zone like a lot of us don't, likely doesn't think any other cultures outside of her own matter. While all this was happening I thought of you guys, lol. Thank you so much for educating others about how life outside of their own head can be like, how beautiful everyone's countries are and how they all matter. Thank you for taking your time to get to know the peoples of the land, their food and cultures. Thank you for respecting everyone, for respecting nature, and for promoting and encouraging others to do the same. Thank you for caring about the environment and for caring about the people's customs, culture, families, heritage and way of living. Hope you have a great time in Guatemala and wherever your new endeavors take you!
