I like the 10 - 15 minute format. Your video's are some of the best on CZcams, they are not for entertainment, they are informative which explain in detail the rivalries between factions and the corruption that drives the dystopia and the characters that fuel the Great Ponzi Scheme of China (eg the desperation of the party to force private wealth which was acquired through corruption to prop up the C C P propaganda machine to generate more corruption) .
I always learn something from your videos, for example I did not know there are 3 types of "prince-lings" (to me these are Oligarchs and there demise will be sudden and brutal, much the same a russia)

I would like to look at this purging from another point of view. As you stated, the military is not confident in its capabilities against the US. I believe that can be most quickly changed by replacing older leaders with new more self-confident ones. Officers who are willing to use the resources of the military more aggressively now.
I think you will find leadership, or the lack there of, isn't the only issue of the pla & ccp. As for more aggressive, you can't go more aggressive without declaring war itself. I doubt the ccp has the nerve to do that!

He's made these major changes for a reason and to allow a different possible future result. Change the coach and GM to change the culture and spirit of the team. His team was a failure. Change until the performance improves. He changes the heads of military supply companies and generals.
