I watched this WCS couple on another CZcams video, where they performed this same dance for the 2020 Budapest competition.
I was impressed then and still am. I have watched this couple several times now. So here is what I said at the other CZcams video,
"I am impressed with this couple. The most appropriate name to attach to their style, "WCS Ballet Concerto", because it is a perfect blend of movements, style, form and technique from various dances into one, the WCS, and it definitely has a ballet flair to it."
WCS is transforming and this couple is the prime example (and template) of what WCS is becoming.
This is the future, June 2023, this is absolutely your best routine. !!!! First seen this routine on CZcams Budafest 2020. First place yes, 4th place no.

from 10th to 4th place , even the blind will soon see . They will outlive those who cannot accept change . Next time they compete they will be more confident in being themselves , they need not conform , they are what is contemporary . What they bring to the dance is infinite possibility. It is hard to have a crowd that wants to scream and shout begin to appreciate the quietness. Takes time. Be patient.

I first saw this routine in the Budafest 2020 video and it's nice to see it again here. It is a brilliant and inspiring piece. In the Lindy Hop scene it would be in the "showcase" category I think, since it's a mix of styles. 👏👏👏👏

They show so much softness & a variety of subtleties that the other couples do not demonstrate. In this division, generally the men do not portray the look or artistry of a classically trained dancer like Jakub does. It is a beautiful thing and their fluid connection together is unique to them as well. I enjoy this very much, I wish that they could put more content in their routines so the judges could place them higher, perhaps more contrast, fast then slower moves. The long slow pauses are nice but not competitive enough. Her spins, not enough. The music could be more dynamic or memorable. They are definitely passionate artists but I am not certain of their desire to be competitors.
I wonder how much of my comment Emeline would agree with or if any of it resonates with her. She is unique & interesting and I wonder her perspective. I would enjoy a conversation I am sure.
I came back to watch some of your prior dances and each one is the literal meaning of 'poetry in motion'. I give you first place.

Beautifully danced but I wonder how the judges made their decisions. In my opinion, probably very contentious, there was barely a swing rhythm for wcs dance in this East Asian sounding music. This was a contemporary dance using some wcs patterns. If they made the minimum requirements of lifts for showcase then that would have been category for the dance. Welcome to make opinions but please do not make personal attacks.
I respectfully disagree. This dance has a solid WCS count in the footwork and frame, with a few smatterings of contemporary thrown in like exclamation points to highlights shifts in the musical pattern. Also, and I could be wrong here, that sounded like banjo music to me - similar to TFDI's country/blues music. Either way, we can agree that they are beautiful dancers.
