Honestly, Khamzat was already a decent striker against Burns, and he's had a year and a half to improve his striking even more. Not to mention that he's only been training his striking for 5 years, so he's still learning way faster than most of the other fighters. I doubt that he will want to keep it standing, but if he can't get the takedown or just simply chooses to stand, I have a feeling that it will be a lot more competitive than people seem to think. Khamzat was lightning fast at 206 lbs, and he is huge at 185. He also goes hard af in sparring. Imagine being as good as he was in the Gilbert fight, and then doing hard sparring matches with vicious guys that are bigger than you for another 600 days on top of that. He's probably a nightmare on the feet nowadays.
Burns striking came a long way, it was terrible, and he rocked Khamzat, Costa will give him a run for his money.

If you aren't exploiting the rules to your advantage then you're stupid and shouldn't be at the highest levels of competition. Faking a glove touch is an exploit but so is going for the glove touch as Holland did. If Holland's opponent touches gloves with him then he can't come right out and go for a takedown. It also helps Holland avoid being the victim to the fastest knockout in UFC history.
All that being said, Chimaev didn't even fake glove touch, but if he did then much respect. Don't hate the player, hate the game. I just hate glove touches during a fight. Save that bullshit for after the fight.

Costa depends on aggressive fight style. If khamzat will land many punches to his face it will trigger him to grapple instead of take down defence. When he grapple then khamzat you wrestle. When dealing with a proud fighter first you must deal damage to his pride- boxing strike and his face. Fast punches to his face while moving around until he loses patience and grapple. Aggressive fight style wont work....
