    You feel overwhelmed. You feel out of your league. You constantly ask yourself "how did I get myself in this position?" You've never been shy about feeling that way and that's great.
    I've been there. Most days at work in fact.
    Take a breath. You're absolutely KILLING IT. Full stop. Insane detail and insane complexity. You are, without question, one of the best diorama/terrain builders out there. I could only hope to get where you, Jazza, Luke Towan, Black Magic Craft, DMscraft, Wyloch, , RP Archive and the rest are. Every video is a treat and stretches the bounds of what is "possible."
    You are a master at what you do, mostly because you keep pushing the line. You keep learning and testing and innovating and it's just... fun to watch you. I doubt I will ever make a Cyberpunk diorama. Or a 3 floor tavern. Or a wizard tower on the coast. But I know where to source my inspiration, so thank you. Tabletop crafting is in VERY good hands.

  • @rdoetjes
    @rdoetjes Před 3 lety

    A tip for the next time. What would be a better approach in the future is to have these LEDs on a PCB as that mounts cleanly in the awesome enclosure that you build. On that pcb is an i2c multi IO Port and if needed (depends on the amount of LEDs the current draw and the multi IO ic) a driver. These can be done in SMD, it can be soldered by hand. Then you only have 3 wires come out. The i2c data and the VCC and GND. My mindset is, the least amount of wires need to be run. MCP23018 is 16 bit out and you can daisy chain them because they use i2c
    In case you need more individual led control.
    And you can also get LCD panels that are i2c driven so you can make an animated billboard for the next one :)
    Nonetheless the diorama is awesome!

You should be very proud. Thank you so much. It looks awesome and I wouldn't mind seeing a video with the "fixed" lighting effects so long as it doesn't drive you crazy!

    Wow, stunning piece!!! I loved all the foam stone carving and the cork tile for curbs, etc. I have to admit I was initially doubtful about using sand for pavement, but you pulled that off masterfully.
    The skills and resourcefulness are definitely there, now more than ever, and are immensely appreciated.
    Now, would the average wargamer really need all that LED work? Maybe if it was just for dioramas. It’s very nice, don’t get me wrong, but it’s definitely not necessary for gaming. I’ve seen some amateur guys do neon sign and directional lighting effects with paint, but I really wish the better content producers showed us all how that’s really done.
    Also, d😮oes the average wargamer have a 3D machine? Not the average guy. Not yet. And some hold off because they prefer the challenge of making do without one.
    I really would love to see more attempts to scratch build some of what was done with the 3D machine. At least try, even if you don’t produce an exactly perfect piece.
    It seems to me like very few of the best CZcams terrain makers even try to scratch build anymore. We should see more (not less) DIY work from those who have the skills and know how.
